Thank you for adding the google doc for the gofundmes for all the familes & businesses ❤️

Maya I am also dealing with sensitivity with the right side of my mouth, it happened suddenly and the only thing I had changed was my toothpaste. Try not to use anything whitening if possible

YourPalAnthony

That bald guys name is leo skepi and he is a very strange and scary guy..

CorporateAF

Please play Halo 3 omggg. Although Halo Reach would be some sick content too.

Kim D

You can always charge your phone and check radio from you car

Danilee

I think the only reason I consistently go to the dentist twice a year is my insurance covers 100% IF I go. When I miss they reduce, and keep reducing coverage based on how many skipped

Elijah

Can’t imagine what it must have been like at the vets with Coots. Glad you’re doing ok and all those close are doing ok. That’s very interesting to hear about Alveus evacuation plan too.

Imrano

Caleb’s birthday sounds awesome. Nice to hear Chandler was actually useful for once 😂.

conway1308

Nipple conspiracy it does not exist QT. Sorry to tell you

Marc !

when i was a kid i was afraid of the dentist so i went to a place that specialized in kid dentistry. they had smaller xray pads to bite on...so those exist, somewhere. that place is also where a hygienist punched me, but whatever

isabeya!

oh my god maya SAME i literally have never hated going to the dentist up until like a few years ago. i also recently had a tooth get filled but it still hurts and im so scared to go back 😭

Marc !

i forget if i said this on the gaming post where you tried Destroy All Humans, but if games have local (meaning same room/same computer) multiplayer, on Steam you can do a Remote Play Together thing where one of you gets to join and play as player 2 even though the game doesn't technically support internet multiplayer. there is lag, however.

kron

the suspect with the blowtorch for the kenneth fire wasn't charged with arson by the way. he was charged with a parole violation and it looks like he might be transferred to ICE custody soon because he's an undocumented immigrant

Mrs Coffv

i moved here from germnay and told my cousin that there is a big fire here in LA and that our power if off bc of that and bc of the extreme winds and shee hits me with "oh i thought those were fake"

LeahGia

I HATE the dentist too and I’ve hated it for basically my whole life. I think it’s the concept of scraping. It’s sucks to just be an adult and having to volunteer yourself to endure it while hating it the whole time lmao

Paula Mejia

You really think someone would do that? Just go on the internet and tell lies?

Noah

qt: tries to walk maya through a really useful anti-catastrophizing exercise also qt: "man i sure hope you dont get gingivitis bc theyre gonna rip your gums apart"

KellyAnn

Much of the distrust in the government after disasters 100% stems from the dust bowl to Katrina. Continuous failures causes real concern but as always people go way too far

OurTown93

re: their conversation on depression. My father has no concept of depression (old fashioned). He sees it as a character flaw, like you should be able to power your way out of it. That is almost as debilitating as having depression-the fact that there are still so many people who think it is a personal weakness rather than an illness. No one would say that a diabetic is weak because they can't make insulin, but a lot of people think people with depression are just weak. Frustrating.

OurTown93

"Ponies are not baby horses" mind blown...

Experimental Cyborg

Cozy podcast is best podcast! On the paranoia content, when you deeply fear something you see it hiding behind every corner, and when something remotely similar happens, you react like it's the real thing. I think both people posting that shit and people clicking on so much of it that it became prominent in the algorithm are mostly because of that. I can't blame them, it looks apocalyptic out there :( ... on the opposite side of the coping spectrum the processing-through-dark-humor people are eating good though. The memes are fire :')

Elana Showalter

Hopefully a lot of those animals have microchips, cause then once a shelter scans them it'll notify the owners and give the shelter their information

Corra Brodbeck

I have a phobia of the dentist too, mine is from getting crowns on two teeth and I wasn’t fully numbed and it was so painful. I havent gone back since and tbh i even had to skim through maya’s segment about the dentist because it’s so bad 😭 what im afraid of is the pain for sure though

stel

the dentist is actually surprisingly calming to me. i could fall asleep in there

Jenna

Im with Maya, canning is fun

rainycake

That tooth pain happened to me too. It's the EXACT description. It went away on its own after like a month.

Joss Carbonell

i just went to the dentist for the first time in YEARS on monday and have to get so much work done i feel seen

✨️ Hayley ✨️

Funnily enough getting a root canal was very chill for me even though I have a severe phobia of the dentist. I went to a nice endontist office and had nitrous and the GBBO playing while I was getting worked on😅 they also gave me a weighted blanket it was so nice

Dean Olsabeck

I would LOVE yall played the Halo series or even just 3. That would literally be so freaking top tier with QT's passion explaining stuff.

katana

What book are they reading this month?

JKorwhatever

I have the same debilitating fear of the dentist so much that when the pod talks about the dentist I have to skip it or I start getting nervous ticks thinking about it.

Benjamin Roderick

the fact ur tooth still hurts is lowkey a good sign !!

AirspeedIsAlive

It’s ok Maya I learned the hard way that you shouldn’t put silverware in the microwave when I was like 25 😂

Jam

Did…did I just see a nipple?

Kyle Barr

My wife found a dentist around us that actually caters to people with anxiety. They're extra supportive and have a dog to help calm you down. She has really bad anxiety (esp. medical) but this place has been really good for her.

Greg

QT they make backup generators for houses, if that's too extra get a Jackery power station, they have enough power to charge multiple cellphones, flashlights ect.

Edd Recinos

Lowkey, a little too excited for halo 3! cant wait!!!

Emma

Yea same. I have a really rational fear of dentists, but my face puffed up so much that I just had to go. The dentist I went to gave me the happy gas and basically took me on a guided meditation journey where I felt nothing. So worth it to find someone who cares about people

Funky Raven

If you are putting a cup of water in the microwave, you are meant to leave a small spoon in it. The spoon has no pointed edge which is what sparks and without it, you can heat water above boiling point. Water above boiling point will instantly flash boil when moved leading to serious burns.

Funky Raven

Or so I read anyway. Never tried it but think it is in some user manuals

hollieb0o

and even then the “looting” that is said to be happening isn’t even happening. people are trying to get to their BURNED homes to retrieve whatever they can after they had just a few short minutes to evacuate. during hurricane katrina, it (looting) was also used as an excuse for some horrible things that the police and etc have done especially to marginalized people after losing their homes as well 😔 yes it’s all unfortunately political 😭

Becca

Omg the gaming in the movie theater!! I’m planning to do that for my bf’s next birthday or his 30th and making cute little theater playbills and surprise him. I’m so excited to hear that Maya had a good experience with it! :)

spacecampsucks

Idea. Get a wireless charger pad for your desk, then put your phone on it while you’re at your desk/not using it. It’ll keep it topped up.

barcancelN

i will actually upgrade to tier 2 for this omg

barcancelN

In regards to the air quality in LA, I remember seeing a post of a bike left laying on a driveway because of evacuation, and after the fire only the melted remnants of the bike remained, meaning that there is bike in the air

Yumnah Rushdy

on maya talking about the dentist potentially dropping a drill down her throat, it happened to me (on new year's eve, might i add) and i had to go to the ER, but it went down into my esophagus so they got it out with an endoscopy which is not that bad bc ur sedated :D u can also aspirate it into your lungs which is not that common ! 🫶🏽 if u just swallow it and they can't get it out tho it's not the end of the world their drills are pretty small and u can just shit it out (as long as u dont shit it out sideways) 😇 fear lowkey valid but it was not that bad 🫶🏽

ChubbyHobo

damn i would WATCH a halo play through.

GrumpyMurloc

The dentist story sounds too familiar... I already have difficulties breathing through my nose (fricked up septum) and when they clean with the waterdrill thingy, I feel like I'm drowning. Cause it's difficult to swallow with an open mouth, can't breath through my nose, so yeah, fantastic experience >.< Also, that movie theatre gaming experience, sounds AWESOME as heck. What a fantastic idea and thoughtful gift.

Moose

A whole MCC one would be fun

Moose

You guys should play all of MCC in release order! That would be awesome.

Moose

I think a whole MCC playthrough would be best but yes

tyongflight

just started watching the episode, and maya I relate SO BAD about the dentist, it's always been okay to me but now it's started to be less and less bearable and just hearing you talk about it made my teeth hurt idk why as I get older I'm less and less tolerant to the dentist

Joey

There were a lot of insurance companies that had to stop coverage on homes months before the fires due to state laws preventing them from considering future potential weather events. So they couldn't price in the high likelihood of fires. What was supposed to be good legislation backfired horribly

D

That Kenneth fire guy turns out that the citizen arrest was false. He was released from a holding cell as they proved that he didn’t start the fire. It’s misinfo but it’s chill a lot of people thought it was real.

wolf

i cannot stress enough that if you don't like pain, you want to get the root canal done. i just had to have one last week, the pain before that had been awful for literal months unless i was super careful about the way i was eating. after the root canal? the numbness was gone after two hours max, and without even taking painkillers i only felt a TINY bit of discomfort. compared to how it felt beforehand it was nothing.

Danny

Play Stardew Valley!
