It’s so nice to hear Lily talk about adoption! It’s a really good path to go down if you want children but struggle to conceive. There’s a really emergence of surrogacy that is super concerning and unpleasant. And (from personal experience) there are a lot of children already in the world who deserve an opportunity to have loving parents and community :)

I have hired young female interns who have leapt at the chance to cover stories about Rae because they admire you so much. Everyone outside of that negative circle jerk thinks of you as a pioneer, a brilliant entertainer and a legendary figure in this space. You just have got to get off Twitter, it is staggeringly irrelevant. Everything you've talked about is literally the opposite of every conversation I have ever had about you in media and general entertainment circles

Rae it's understandable to sometimes feel like you are remembered for your "L's" when you hear it from the incels over and over again. However I do think it's best to remember that is such a small quantity of people. And if we are honest a lot of bots and just the same incels on multiple alt accounts. A lot of times if you look at their profiles it's just an alt account they have in order to be sexist and racist. You have done a lot of great things. Entertained people for years. And have done good in the world. That and other great things you do in the future will be what you will be remembered by.

Great topic on the colonoscopy stuff. I am writing this on the day I am going in for my second one (I have crohns so it is a routine check), if you are going for a colonoscopy I highly recommend a numbing agent for the bowel prep ahead of the procedure, it hurts a lot as you are opening your bowels so much.

Hey, I don't know if you're maybe younger or haven't been in these situations but it's a little concerning how you speak about both adoption and surrogacy. Lily clearly talked about adoption not because she is concerned about fertility, but because she considers it a valid path to parenthood on its own. It is pretty complex to treat adoption as a plan B or one to one replacement for genetically related children when it just isn't. The grief of infertility and the grief of family loss should both not be dismissed. And since you are on the Patreon of Wine About It, you will probably have heard QT talk about wanting to work with a surrogate when she decides to have children. It feel like you are at least implicitly judging that choice when it I no your place to do for her or anyone. There is no inherent morality or immorality tied to adoption over surrogacy or to having kids or not having kids or to conceiving with or without medical assistance. People are different, they have their own unique lives and paths and it's great that there are so many options now.

I know Rae mentioned wanting it to be less Valkyrae and more Rachell Hofstetter with HiHi Studios, but I think that's hard to do at first because her fans are the baked-in audience for the media the company produces. Gaining an audience outside of that will take a lot of time.

Hi patreon, I’m a doctor at MD Anderson and while I’m not an oncologist I have worked with plenty of patients with blood cancers. The bone marrow cancer they’re talking about is probably something called “myelodysplastic syndrome.” Without treatment it can progress to leukemia. It can be very difficult to treat and it looks like Albert received a stem cell transplant, essentially replacing his bone marrow. It can lead to a lot of complications, the fact that Albert is seemingly healthy is a blessing. Blood cancers present differently than solid organ tumors in that there’s no localizing symptoms like pain. Instead you get fevers, weight loss and night sweats. Night sweats that leave your sheets DRENCHED. It’s easy to ignore, especially you’re young and healthy and don’t believe it could affect you. If you feel concerned about a medical issue PLEASE seek medical attention and do not google and brush it off. ~also this isn’t medical advice~ be safe and be healthy everybody <3

I was back and forth on kids, but I remembered a convo that I had with my dad. He has a lot of regrets in life, but the one thing that he doesn't regret is having me. It's the one thing he's proud of and enjoys. So I ended up deciding to have a kid a couple years ago. Genuinely, he has added so much joy to our daily lives. While the world is scary, he is my hope for a better future. I look at him and am motivated to be involved in my community and be a better role model for him. More kids deserve a home where they are loved and wanted. Parenting books also really helped me set expectations and understand him before he was here which I think has helped significantly. But it's literally so fun, and I love being a parent way more than I thought possible.
