Also I believe there's a way to release exclusive early tickets on spotify to your top listeners and if you make the ticket cost low and ticket availability to like the amount of seats in the cafe then it would work.

Maybe you should look for a financial therapist for your mom, Rae. Sounds like she has some healing to do in order to fix her relationship with money. You can't control the behavior without addressing the underlying cause.

Went to the fear& Portland show just for QT. I didn’t buy the tickets until QT said she was going. Super bummed when she didn’t, but I get it. Now major FOMO on the music video that LA got. At least Portland got the pizza eating call in.

I already know that I'm going to listen to that album up and down. When "Counting" came out, I had it on loop for days. It made it into my top one hundred songs of all time on Spotify even though every other song on there was from many years ago. Please do the t-shirts and sell them online, too!

I wouldn't say you were the asshole with that. If it's an expensive ass restaurant, you expect and should be given high quality food. I know you may feel bad but you weren't a Karen getting mad at the waiter or asking to complain to the manager, you reassured him and over-tipped him. You did it in a nice way. I think it's good to be honest to give them incentive to perhaps try to improve. If every customer lies and says it's great, they'll never change and will keep serving trash which may hurt them in the long-run since they won't get many returning customers, only new and unsuspecting ones.

Rae- my mom is dealing with the same issues with my grandmother, who is 92. My grandmother actually totaled her car by running it into her garage, which my parents paid to get fixed and finally had to cut off her driving privileges, which she was really mad about. After that, they realized she was spending way more than she could afford, so theh inevitably took over handling her finances. You do things out of the goodness of your heart because they're your parents. However, it's also okay to be mad because it can sometimes feel like you're being taken advantage of, which is valid. So don't feel bad that you're mad or upset because it's valid when you're doing what you can to take care of everyone. Your mom should be grateful that you're in a position to take care of her (which I'm sure she is) but she does need to realize it's a little selfish the way she's handling things. That's not an easy conversation to have, but it should be one you have with her at some point or you may need to have someone take over handling her finances and monitoring her spending. It's a nuclear option but it would at least give you some peace of mind that there is at least someone keeping tabs in case it gets way out of hand.

as someone who struggled saving money and money spending- don’t let her have a credit card. i would always end up with debt in my early early 20s and my dad would save me, and we cancelled my credit card and i was able to learn to be more financially stable and be able to save up. credit cards are truly evil for people who didn’t grow up with a lot of money.

I feel like its valid to let them know, just because having that feedback especially from a clearly expensive restaurant may make them reflect ngl, for ex i once ordered a meat burrito which in the menu it was not written that it had avocado and cheese which I just do not like and I didnt speak up, I tried to eat it because I felt so crazy for saying anything but then my group noticed my eyes were glossy and they know i do not eat those, and I felt crazy and double checked the menu, which made the waiter notice, well etc,etc they wanted to redo it but I didnt want to waste the food so someone else at the table ate it and I didnt get to have breakfast lol.

It’s okay to have limits with your parents. I would run her credit report to know where accounts stand. Put a freeze on her credit with the big credit companies and you control the login details. It’s not very hard to do. If a purchase is needed to be made you can temporary “thaw” a persons credit for a day or two.

IDEA FOR BLAIRE, wait for spotify wrapped and note down the people with a lot of listening hours that post on social media and reach out then! It wont be everybody cuz some people dont post theirs but it would be the most realistic method of doing it I think if theres nothing in spotify’s backend of helping with it.

Was at the LA show, from LA county since birth, and also have been in touring bands. LA def has a reputation for being less enthusiastic than other cities because they've "seen everything". Qt's music video made me tear up because I knew it was about her mom. Thank you so much for showing it!!!

NTA for the restaurant situation that was hella funny 🤣 and I was surprised Rae had that reaction to Qt being vulnerable in the text cause she’s always saying she wants her to be more open. Not trying to be parasocial or anything, both of them are very valid! Congrats on the engagement and such a fun bachelorette trip! That kinda thing sounds super hard to plan. Aw man yea that situation with the mom is really rough, I think you’re handling it well! There’s only so much you can do. :/ Ps. yes please drop more merch! I’m in a similar situation with my own mom! Fortunately my mom is less prone to irrational spending, but in my case because I’m the one on the line if she messes up, I told her I need her bank passwords and stuff. I monitor it monthly when i’m doing my own finances anyway. I also have permission from the bank to perform actions on her behalf. In Rae’s case, I think she genuinely should consider to make some kind of trustee / dependant account for her mother. Her team needs to be able to monitor and limit her mother’s spending. Otherwise she’s just an unlimited business expense for Rae as an LLC
