Hell yeah. Such a good episode. Let's get Aiden cancelled lmao

ohmymira

i’m so excited

Mitsy

Not very far into the episode but I want to say… I don’t think this podcast is depressing at all. You talk about real valid emotions that plenty of people could have felt in one way shape or form. Just like a couple of friends would do over a bottle of wine… it lives up to the name and I think y’all kill it!! <3

max

Me, a huge swiftie, is living.

vhs03

You guys prob get this a lot but I've been relistening to all the eps and this is genuinely the most entertaining pod I listen to. <3

Eevee

the podcast makes my late night dog walking less creepy

Pax Man

QT you have to get insurance as a hypochondriac. Pay someone to figure this out for you, it will save you thousands of $$$ in the long run.

Risible Shark

QT, go to CoveredCA and you can shop for health insurance! It's super easy. It's a state-run website to help with your exact situation. You should be able to get a plan anytime since you currently don't have insurance. And, if you get a national provider (basically any of the options but Kaiser, I think) you should be able to use it in both CA and WA. Also don't feel stupid about it. Health insurance is such a unnecessarily confusing thing and no one talks to you about it when you turn 26. It's super annoying. Only reason I know is I just had to do it while I was freelancing for a few months. It'll be worth paying a monthly premium over out-of-pocket costs, and you can compare plans, etc. I was able to get a plan for 3 months and then cancel when I got work-sponsored health insurance.

Jansen Carlin

The more I consume QT content the more I understand my wife. Thanks QT.

Pax Man

It sounds like QT had guy friends and Maya had simps 😬

Lezzerlee

QT you can sign up for Covered CA online during enrollment periods. Or like anything just buy any Insurance from any company. Individual people can just get Blue Cross by signing up/shopping for it. The only reason people get it through work is to get discount prices. Go to an insurance website, click For individuals if they have an option like that, and start shopping. You can also apply for short term insurance for between yearly enrollment dates. Usually you call, they can work with you to get some coverage now. Google Getting insurance as a freelancer https://www.thebalancemoney.com/getting-self-employed-or-freelancer-health-insurance-4147449

Also Maya's situation is way more common so QT is either Lucky or very dense and intimidating causing none of her guy friends to actually confess but also leaving her incapable of picking up on it. I'm way more shocked it's never happened to you then the fact it has repeatedly happened to Maya.

RonJon

My closest friend of like 10 years is a girl and the amount of guys that have filtered in and then out of our various friend groups over the years because they eventually end up asking her out or something similar is far too high to keep count of at this point. My ex even said the same thing that QT's boyfriend did, that she didn't like that my closest friend was a girl, and it was a problem for her for a while.

Nikki L

I'm dying rn with big sur

Katie

9k patreon goal: get QT health insurance

Stephanie Davis

Big Sur is the Patreon goal now. I’m with QT on this.

Catherine Zens

maya that was definitely sexual harassment.

Catherine Zens
>>106141144

actually it’s sexual assault bc he touched you (pulled your pants down) without your consent- im so sorry that happened to you:(

Klav

forsen

Matt Brummett

You should check out Caduceus Cellars in Arizona... mainly cuz I think the MJK Wine About It collab would be wilder than if Radiohead and Miley Cyrus actually did a collab.

Logan Roy

this podcast isn't depressing at all! i actually love that you guys explore difficult topics, which might not cater to the 70% male audience but screw them 🌚

rich bich

happy positivity tuesday!!! [i also have negative associations with tequila because i drank it a lot in junior year college and i frew up all over my bed]

Tyler Jones

I get my health insurance through the federal website healthcare.gov. I think it's intended for low income people, but I looked it up and it says on their website that you dont have to be low income, you just wont get the discount that low income people get. But because you have a more complicated life where you need it in 2 states, maybe you're better off calling one of the major national insurance companies and have them solve your problems. That being said, I have way too much social anxiety to ever attempt to go to the doctor unless I'm dying, so I cant actually vouch that I have good coverage lmao

Pnwoah

I feel like, like with any other relationship, when it comes to female friendships compatibility is important and ig it can feel defeating if you have continuous bad luck. I didn't have friends till like 8th grade and then I found ppl i was compatible with. (Sorry for the long ass comment. I'm v passionate about female friendships)

Axolotl_Pines

This might just be a guy or a cultural thing, but I felt that both of you guys had genuine and understandable stances to the whole girl friend topic, like not at all sounded like a pick me

Arpita

I can relate to QT's pov with female friendships. I have thought about this a lot and I think women like you both and myself included, support or relate to women from a problem-solving perspective, which is conventionally a patriarchal pov. You look to supporting women by finding a solution to their problems and uplifting them in this patriarchal society through that perspective. But you hesitate to find the comfort in supporting women by just being a woman, i.e; the girl's girl. And that could be because both of you have been exposed to the critically patriarchal perspective growing up and you were unconsciously sensitive towards it. So, in a way, we have just been conditioned to look at the girl's girl as a naive way to be in this patriarchal society. This and I also think what QT said about women being non-confrontational and complicated and can be another reason as to why we find it difficult to develop female friendships, imo.

Catherine Zens

every one of these episodes i watch i’m more and more convinced me and qt are like the same person LMAO

Mitsy

As a woman who has been bullied by mostly girls from a young age and burned by more female friendships than male relationships. I relate so much to this topic. Thank you for trying to give advice! Even if you think it sucks, for me it’s nice knowing other women struggle with it and maybe that’s why it’s so hard. Maybe we are all struggling out here. Lol

Snacboi

As a guy who's always only been friends with girls ... I've a lot of reflecting to do hahah

Drew

You guys might not be bubbly but these episodes always feel genuine and as a viewer that’s what I enjoy the most. So glad this is back 🎉

Nikki L

the pencil trick is good because it can also be a conversation starter :)

stephanie

Anthem Blue Cross. Blue Shield of California. Kaiser Permanente of CA. Oscar Health Plan of California. Sharp Health Plan. Sutter Health Plus. Western Health Advantage. Heres a list of health cares in the state of califonia, its hard to know what kind you want but if you need a certain med, its good to look it up and make sure they can provide it. and then i look if my current doctor uses that insurancelook for health insurance, and then find whats in my budget. thats how i usually find my insurances. when its time to renew or whatever it is every year, i take what i didnt like about it and applied it to the new search for health insurance. you may get shitty insurance one year but then youll know what you dont like. Good luck QT, you got this!

Catherine Zens

I WANT TO JOIN A BRUNCH GROUP LETS BOND OVER EGGS BENEDICT LETS GO GIRLS

Matt Brummett

P.S. Maya talking about wanting to be Jenna's friend was kinda hilarious. it matches the less creepy para-social tones of the internet.

Zach

Hi QT, here's a tip as someone who was self employed. Go to healthcare.gov and set up an account and you can buy insurance plans through them. It's not only for Medicare/Medicaid, it actually lets you buy plans too. That's where you can get insurance, and you probably should!

Tfries_

foreshadowing intro lmao

can we do a flavored moscato episode

Arrowni

The chapter were we learned the full name was Toxic Positivity Tuesday "you can't complain Ders, we are positive"

pibren

there are so many instances where people have told me im intimidating, and it sort of just makes me like infuriated because what can i do with that, and no one ever can tell me what it is about me that makes me that unapproachable and without that im just stuck being hard to talk to. ive literally never related to anything more than this pod, it gen sucks. i am the biggest girls girl who just always ends up outside the girl groups. i think it is sort of to do with the fact im always so self aware and in constant fear im making myself look stupid that i just cant be the fun person in the group who people want to be one on one with. it just sucks, and this pod just made me feel so seen. big love!

Wyatt

With respect to approachability, the reason Ludwig is so approachable is because he wears crocs. Like, as a personality. It doesn't matter that he is a super successful juggernaut of streaming like y'all, he does a lot to make sure people don't take him too seriously and also does a lot to make people think that he doesn't take himself too seriously. To be approachable is to be disarming and to make people feel like they don't have to try to impress you. Maya mentioned the pencil trick as the reason she was able to make friends; the reason that worked so well is not because it made the other person feel needed, it worked because it reduced her intimidation levels by opening up a very surface level relatable flaw; making her more approachable. She disarmed them with something relatable and not super serious. TL;DR To be approachable is simply to be open about trivial flaws and be okay with making yourself the butt of the joke with not important things; aka very casual self deprecation

VancityRen

I think the advice of being the one who invites people to things (book club, hike club, etc) is the best way 100% and it has worked for me over the years. Everyone wants to be invited to things but is nervous to ask so being the one who asks really helps. It can feel scary to put yourself out there but it's worth it to make friends (of any gender)!

Kiera Clements
>>106148191

this was super nice to read! and also made me realize what i'm doing wrong. i started taking myself too seriously and trying to "fit in" and that just never works bc you're not comfortable with yourself or the spaces you put yourself in.

Johneisa Holder

It’s so weird for me to hear you guys talk about being perceived as so-and-sos girlfriend because you both are the only streamers whose content I consistently watch and enjoy. I didn’t even know about maya until after she broke up with her ex.

sofia

not the trip to big sur 😭😭

LordeofClover777

QT I cant personally help you for a couple reasons #1 im certified just for a diff atate and #2 it would be inapproriate bc im a huge fan but im a marketplace navigator and the special enrollment period probably does not apply to you! you probably make to much money! you can just apply through the marketplace without a tax credit any time of the year and pick the plan thats best for you!

LordeofClover777

healthcare.gov the application is pretty easy and you can find assistance in your area through the website

Erin

yeah making friends as a young adult is really hard :( especially when you dont have any lasting connections from high school / college etc. and workplace friendships suck because they dont feel truly genuine. this ep has inspired me to look for a club to join though

Juliana McKenna

I love sad wine about it pls keep doing what is naturally you

Treyden Talbot

qt needs to have Taylor watch the brian david gilbert video about the US healthcare system and then sign her up for something lol

Jose Marin

Holy interesting episode! I realized that qt reminds me of Moira from schitts creek 😂 I can’t imagine not having health insurance, especially with how much qt goes to doctors and urgent cares. It’s also wild that they don’t have more girlfriends because all the girls that go to her events always talk about how awesome qt is and how they want to do more with her. I know it’s mostly in her head but I think she would have a lot of friends if she just put herself out there

sam whitley

I wouldn’t be surprised if qt is on the spectrum.

Dani

One single topic that took up an entire episode made it very interesting, best ep yet! I hope you did record a bonus, bonus ep just because this ep was so good!

Brandi Taylor

I have sleep apnea. If my chronic pain isn't too bad, I have zero issues GOING to sleep. I just am always low energy. Not saying you don't have a sleep disorder, but yeah. I will say I have more issues going to sleep now due to a mask. But at least I know I'm getting air all night. Hopefully you get answers and have a solution ♥

Mando Chil
>>106152231

Yes, came here to say this! QT it's simple then will show you all of your options. For me the most annoying thing was sending in all the required paperwork, but that's it 🙂❤️

77katz77

Hearing QT talk about insurance/health coverage makes me realize how lucky I am to still be on my parents' Kaiser plan.

keisha

My mom renews health insurance for a living, go to healthcare.gov :)

Anna Ferster

Your whole “pick me” conversation was very interesting to listen to. It made me think of internalized misogyny and how depending on how much is actually internalized really shifts the ways we look at other women and our relationships with them. Margaret Atwood has a great quote on male fantasies/internalized misogyny where she says “You are a woman with a man inside watching a woman.” I didn’t personally have a lot of male friends growing up, but I always felt like I wanted to be accepted by them at all times.

Tfries_

woah they just made me understand why I only have one female friend but still envy other girl groups and why I can't do things like applying to a college without losing my shit. This podcast is like listening to my two brain cells figure out why tf am I like this

Kiera Clements

this episode is the exact reason why i watch this podcast. damn it's relatable. i don't feel approachable enough to be a "girl's girl," in the sense of what Maya said about how it feels super fake when i do it. i can fake it all i want over social media but in person, it's so awkward, even tho im genuinely trying. and i think that puts some people off. maybe because they can tell i'm trying too hard? idk. the journey of trying to learn how to keep and maintain good friendships is a neverending one.

Kiera Clements
>>106158187

oh i kept watching and QT mentioned the social media thing. yeah, it's super difficult. even my own mom hounded me about needing to do it or i shouldn't be complaining about not having friends. but it's just not natural for me.

Aaron Van Eynde

on the pick me topic i feel like pick me's based their behavior off people like QT who is just naturally like that, which makes it very different

Holly Nicole

I think I relate a bit to what Maya said about being friends with guys. In my 20's I was always friends with men over woman, and only looking back now can I see it's because it was easier knowing they would want to hang out with me because I was cute and they liked me. It was low effort friendship. I didn't have to try. Being friends with women requires alot of effort, and as you guys said, hyping girls up and being bubbly, etc. If you are not that type of person (which I'm not) it's very hard.

Emily Wren

It’s so interesting because Maya seemingly has had very similar experiences to me (every single guy I have ever tried to be friends with has developed feelings for me) but we wound up in totally different friend situations. I have zero guy friends at this point but several very close female relationships and it just feels like I can’t trust men/communicate with them anymore. I hope Maya and QT succeed in their friendship goals <3

Paige

To me being a “pick me” isn’t really just having guy friends. A pick me is a girl who puts down other women to look “cooler” in front of guys, which definitely does not apply to you guys! To be a girls girl you don’t have to be besties with a bunch of girls, but just always support and uplift other women 🤍

Miss_T_Mo

In my professional option I don’t at all think the episodes are too depressing, talking about sometimes rough topics is necessary and I feel like y’all do a great job keeping it serious but still lightheartedish sometimes it feels like none talks about these things and it can be super isolating to feel like the only thinking it so I really appreciate that you guys are able to do that!!

SetRange
>>106162581

Agreed, I really like hearing their perspective on serious topics and I think I've learned a lot from it

august

in my experience with trying to compliment other girls and match their energy you just have to practice it i used to not be able to say anything affectionate and girls always told me they thought i was mean at first but i started practicing it and at first i felt so cringe and out of place and that everyone knew that i was bad at it but then i started to actually be decent at it and it came out genuinely because i figured out what was suitable for me personally so you really just have to practice it because it doesn’t matter what you actually reply or say its just the fact that you cared to say something nice about them is enough

august
>>106158911

yeah exactly and they usually put down other women and their interests to look cool

Oscar Daniel

1:09:56 noooo 🥺🥺🥺🥺

Bassam

It's really hard making friends in your 20s 😩

eirysse

there is not a podcast i relate to more!! fav podcast

Olinice

ménage a trois mean treesome in french thats why it's so sexual

soloPFL

Yes making friends in general is hard after college. And working remotely doesn’t help either…. Maya asking why the text on the bottle is sexual when the wine is called Ménage-à-trois is the kind of humor I’m here for.

melmo

im in college and have no friends. i only had a friend group through my ex that i met while feeling like i had no friends.

kelsothenerd

So glad yall talked about female friendships, made me feel less alone as it's something I also struggle with! Love how open you both are about your feelings, you're making the world a better place 😊

Matt Samuelson

Un-ironically Obamacare is made for a situation like Qt. No shame in not knowing how to use it.

KyeLily

As a trans girl, I feel this so much. I didn't really know how to talk to girls when I transitioned and now I find it really difficult to feel at home in the social dynamics, especially bein in highschool

Anabyee

I feel like all the friends I've made in my 20s are through work 😓

Bailey

my best advice for making girl friends: be interested in what they're interested in (don't fake it she will know), acknowledge them for their brains, not their looks, and don't be creepy -love, a 20 y/o gay girl

Phlexy

naaaah that def was sexual harrasement, as a guy with a decent amount of girls that i hung out with in groups and just solo, i never asked a girl what color panties or what kind of panties she was wearing let alone pull on her pants. thats weird as fuck

Cameron

Maya is cracked, did not expect her to get that cork out with her random jumble of tools

Chloie

Does Maya have a PO box? I will send her a wine opener. I've never had so much anxiety. Loved the rest though

Juliana McKenna

Qt is my vibe and I just think you’re not surrounded by people who think like you. I personally wouldn’t find Ludwig approachable, because he and I simply don’t have much in common. Because I feel that I have a lot in common with QT (and maya but more in life circumstances) I find both of you approachable. I sometimes think of QT and maya as the girl bosses that like to discuss what it looks like to be a girlboss. I love that you don’t gatekeep.

Juliana McKenna

Qt has no style. Sorry, and you need more guidance in makeup and hair. Pls pay people money to teach you how to do it yourself. Mayas dress is so cute and I love the plushy designs. I love mayas taste and it really appeals to me.

Juliana McKenna

Being friends with your co workers/employees is the way of your line of work. It’s definitely filled with pros and cons. I hope you gain more comfort in it. You guys are on the road to success.

Juliana McKenna
>>106167023

Be shameless and if you find people you want to be friends with, just look at it as if you’re going to have the upper hand and reach out. If they respond to you then you’ve succeeded, if you fail, move on. From one college girl to another college girl

Larnius

Can QT not just „work“ for mogul moves so she can get easy insurance? Slime has said this on the yard

Juliana McKenna
>>106159956

I don’t trust men, even tho I have male friends. I’m so picky. I recommend being picky and clinging to your favorite people for as long as they let you.

Ivvyandvine

I’ve always been the girl that has one to two really close girls that I stay friends with for years. I had a group of girlfriends a few times in my life and that came down to times when I was like living really confidently and authentically. If I thought someone looked great I’d tell them if I wanted to hangout I told them. I also tend to approach other women with a general understanding that we deal with the same shit so it’s like mutual empathy of like well we are both going up against the shit what do you want to do for lunch to bitch about it mutual enemy is always my like go to bonding. Planned events also fucking great qt is right I ran wine nights and it was the best because then your one friend has a reason to bring their one friend and you can Ponzi scheme a social circle

Harsh Patel
>>106173261

Insurance still costs the employer. She’d be an additional cost to the company without actually working for the company

Larnius
>>106173261

Yes ofc but the problems are with the confusing paperwork not the money.

Sid Raghunandan

This podcast is such a vibe. QT has the same kind of brain rot that I have, and it’s kind of inspiring lol.

adenosine_tri_phosphate

upping the antes on Positivity Tuesday would be hilarious! Like a prank war of niceness

lewits

Def relate a lot to Maya with guy friends. Always hoping to be in QT’s shoes but always end up with a guy confessing to me. I think ik maybe 2 like guys who I can say never had a crush on me because 1.) They “adopted” me my freshmen year of hs and 2.) I already had a bf at the time of meeting them/I am so not his type Still working on the female friend thing. I personally just have a hard time connecting/making jokes. I always feel like I have to hold myself back in like “I can’t show them who I truly am”

JamesJohnson

Very happy the dresses are back. It felt like a bigger change than not being in person even.

Kyle A

happy positivity tuesday everyone 🥳

bahaha i turned to my boyfirend mid episode and said "welcome to autists anonymous!" (said with love, as a fellow woman with autism)

Loune
>>106153173

better yet, take inspo from Margot Robbie in the Big Short-- except its Tayloy Swift explaining how to enroll in health care on your own as an adult.. filled with exclusive musical numbers exploring the emotions one goes through while trying to navigate the US healthcare system. BOOM oscar

bruna

the dude who looked at your underwear to see the color sexually assaulted you, the harassment was when he was asking the color. once he put his hands on you it was assault.

Victoria Borrego

This was such a great episode, it really is hard to make friends as an adult and I think y'all still gave some solid advice. Also I'm sure you can ask Hasan for help with health insurance. He's talked about how much of a pain it was to get as a streamer but at least you know he deals with a similar situation.

SuperDuprEgg

the precious 2 were great heavy episodes but this one is a reminder how funny you two can get

seashell

Great episode! I honestly don't think it's terrible advice, I think its smart what you were saying about how the institutions we are part of are what really bind friendships together on a casual level. Thats why so many of us as adults feel like our only friends beyond the hs/college people we keep in touch with are the coworkers we like the best. So if you want to make new friends and have the time for it to develop into deeper connections, it's probably a smart thing to give it the opportunity by creating that structure yourself and being rigid about it. Planning a group around one common interest to meet for a couple hours once a month would definitely widen your social circle without being some insane commitment.

seni

Pausing the episode half way to say wow it’s crazy how much I relate to QT on the first topic (healthcare) & Maya on the second topic (male/female friendships)! With all love towards Maya there’s nothing more telling that someone grew up well-off than the way she reacted to you explaining never having healthcare and you being so overwhelmed by it because, like QT, I also grew up low-income in a town with garbage education and that’s just the norm and people don’t realize the healthcare system is literally structured to make it difficult for poorer people to understand it and use it efficiently. In terms of the seconds topic, like Maya, it made me so sad to realize that the male friends I thought were just my buddies and that I thought they just considered me “one of the guys” just wanted to get with me 😭 it made me realize I can’t win with male or female friends :( anyways great episode so far <3

Kyle A

i think on the topic of matching people's energy and wishing you're more hyped about things, i think everyone has their version of it. i think it's more relative than an absolute thing.

Witold_mix

10k Sub special Austin helps QT call an insurance broker

Edwin Solis

I fucking love episodes like this. a 1 1/2 hour stunlock on a question was amazing. I honestly really appreciate how open QT and Maya are about just the general struggles and issues women face that get completely overlooked by men and are rarely brought up. Watching through all the episodes has been so eye opening and has really made me rethink a lot. Genuinely has been so helpful for developing more empathy. sometimes you just don't realize how much you don't really notice because you aren't conditioned to pay attention.

Kyle A

i think for both of you to dive deep into what you're dealing with, and reach the end of the episode and be like "we have no good advice" captures the spirit of this podcast lol. it's called wine about it and you guys whined about it, though you're both very self-aware and constructive which is fun to listen to. loved this episode :)

GOGOG

ok ok, I am one of those people QT is talking about who only brings up issues they have with something you said or did long after it happened. It's just like, in the moment you keep it to yourself because you don't want to be the vibe assassin, but then it picks away at you until you can't suppress it anymore. Although to be fair I usually just hold onto it forever and never tell them and just wait for them to die. IDK do any winers relate?

Emily
>>106144716

Right when she said she didn't have health insurance I was like I hope someone in the comments will list a few for her.

Lily Nova

im not saying this because of other shit but, qt was talking about ludwig being approachable and immediately said in my head "what no?" now ofc qt knows ludwig better than a random freaking viewer but I am not shitting you when I say that I instantly felt more drawn to qt from her cameos with other streamers than with ludwig. I actually was so apprehensive to ludwig and his videos at first while after the first vid i saw qt in i immediately went to her yt and subd so i don't know why that's so also is this a me thing but sometimes i watch ludwigs videos and i cant immerse myself fully in them and i always have this barrier surrounding me from it... i only subd to lud after like my yt feed bombarding me with his cameo content and me finally saying fine i watch enough of him to sub and qt was instantly approachable for me. another thing i kind of wanted to say is regarding female friendships and how for me (idk if this will get me kicked but anywho) as a young female viewer still in high school I've always been more comfortable with guys. Since like 2nd grade i have had this thing where girls vent and talk about their troubles with me and my brain immediately goes to explaining my own similar experience because well that's how people bond right? but i eventually go into so much detail and shit in my life that suddenly my brain is telling me to shut up and like very aggressively too "you are making everything about you! make her feel included! shut up! be quiet! no one cares this much about you to sit through this! don't burden her!" and I've always had this insecurity of being too much. While with guys, they don't vent they don't talk about feelings much and so i don't need to talk about mine we just play games or talk about things not feelings. and without this potential convo of thoughts and opinions and feelings on the table i feel more comfortable in not being too much and not second guessing myself i feel much more at ease with my mind not telling me im overbe umm from this comment you could also tell i kinda talk a lot.. i always have a lot on my mind and i don't really like saying things in a quick short sentence because it feels ingenuine to whats really underneath that sentence.. but yeah this is also a point of contention and a factor into why maybe someone struggles with female friendships from another girl but the funny thing is that im a girls girl and bubbly and i still experience these things so yea its pretty varied and funny. im sorry for this long comment its an essay really... im generally a lurker everywhere lol. the number of times I've ever commented on anything is less than 20 instances and I've been on the internet since i was 5 years old. idk if anyone read this far.. but qt and maya are amazing and sometimes these podcasts eps just make me feel so much more ok in what im feeling and experiencing... they are great truly and uhh thank you for the episode! essay over i think, god, bye.

James Parentich

I love how real and open QT and Maya get. When I first watched QT I did et that 'pick me' opinion, but the more I watched the more I realised she was being honest, her self esteem around how she is perceived is so different from reality. You can even tell on Fear & how Will and Hasan body language is still kind of shocked when QT says something self-deprecating or coming from a place of low self esteem, These podcasts let us know, no matter how 'supported' you are publicly, these feelings are normal!

stephanie
>>106144716

Haha i had to! I felt the EXACT same way when i was no longer able to be on my parent’s insurance. Every time i would look into it i would be so anxious and overwhelmed and then id quit cuz fuck that.

Ellaabunny

omg i love this podcast so much

N.N.

Does neither Maya nor QT know that menage a trois means threesome? Also, call a insurance broker. Also, find a hobby or activity in your local area that you think you will enjoy: dancing, scouts, hiking, theater, improv, baking, whatever it may be there is probably a group doing it looking for more people. it will give you something to talk about and bond over.

Chelsea Mandziuk

I am also terrible at making friends. I think the biggest thing is to keep reaching out. Let people know you want to be included

bakedLaska

Who's gonna tell Maya that reaching into her pants to pull out her underwear is sexual battery

KittyCaity95

Alluux lives in San Francisco! Maybe it would be easier for QT to hang out with her

qt, search insurance broker california on google. i was without health insurance for awhile and i have a lot of health problems, and i found an insurance broker who took care of it all for me, all i had to do was tell her my doctors and medical needs. best part is they don’t ask you for payment, they get paid by the gov/insurance companies/third parties. so the service is feee to you!

Selenityy

Before I joined my boyfriend's insurance, as a full time content creator I used Obamacare. I lived in Austin, TX and it was pretty expensive for low tier selections but it did cover me for those doctor visits. I know you are in California but it should be offered there too, hopefully this helps! Health care is crazy confusing for everyone, don't feel bad!

Sarah

Please dont do the excited bubbly thing. Yes, that role is super important and great to be around but so is the friend who you can trust to give you the unfiltered truth. The roles are complimentary and both are necessary to the other.

Sacreduh

I have girl friends but I’ve struggled with feeling like I’m not doing enough to make them close friendships where they are who u go to individuallly when you are in need. I saw a tiktok about a girl in this predicament of making girl friends that basically was saying being vulnerable is the key. She also said some other stuff that I can’t remember but yea I think it starts there like that’s the baseline.

For the wine please just usa a shoe and the wall

Hot take: Resting Bitch Face is not a thing and I genuinely don't get it

Tim

Great episode! Although Maya seemed a bit quiet.

Stephanie

QT what are your thoughts on Taylor changing the Setlist and playing "The 1" instead of "Invisible String", now that we have news of their breakup?

Frances Wilson

I got an "In Good Taste" advent calendar and it was a great way to try a bunch of single servings of different wines. I wonder if they wouldn't sponsor y'all.

SuperCookieGaming

disclaimer i am not diagnosing QT but she seems to have a lot of the symptoms that are associated with autism. I for example can't do citrus fruit. i'm not allergic, in fact i love the taste, but the texture just makes me 🤢. my uncle tried to force me to eat a single orange slice when at a chinese restaurant as a kid i chewed on it for 15min before spitting it up. i couldn't swallow it. the part about being brutally honest is something my bff does and she is on the spectrum. we are both super literal in how we speak, etc. also my bff also has a lot of problems with women being nice to her similarly to QT. might be because she is so honest all the time or its just bullying. autism gets passed over in women a lot and can look different then in men. You lose nothing from getting tested, you either you are on the spectrum and you unlock what you should be treating, or you know you aren't on the spectrum and you can look elsewhere to help with mental health.

AYPRIL

omg qt i literally understood every single thing you said about having female friends and how being a girls girl does not come naturally i feel the same way. It is not being a pick me when you can acknowledge that it does sound pick me but you genuinely mean it. Great ep Maya and qt!

I don't feel you need to apologize for the long comment; it was a very insightful read and you used linebreaks and paragraphs to format it in a friendly way so I think you did a great job sharing your perspective.

Hannah Jacobson

i felt this episode. being a girl at college w social issues is so difficult because i've noticed a shift in how i'm expected to interact with other women. in high school it was much more relaxed but now i feel like when i meet other women on campus it's assumed that i'm gonna be overly bubbly because that's just the culture now

Christian

Another great episode, I have the same sleeping issue as QT and also have no idea what it is. Got tested for sleep apnea, was positive, basically cured it, and even still. Think it's something different

Indigo

Honestly, the female friendships question part it kinda sounds like maya and QT always kinda wanted female friends but now that they have a chance it’s a bit like imposter syndrome. I was bullied and now that I have friends I always feel like I’m doing something wrong or that stuff doesn’t come across the way I want/intend.

Ayjayy

The podcast isn't depressing at all, it is relatable and real.

Headsnake

Is there anyway we could have timestamps in the descripion that way we can go back and forth between sections? Not sure if that has been mentioned before, love the content either way!

Ayjayy

LMAO not the Big Sur trip omgg, QT and Maya are not beating the gay allegations. Also, QT, you may have a Gaylor in here ;)

Anj

I'll teach you to do all the makeup things! That's literally like my life. But this podcast is my comfy show. It's because you two are real and true and so relatable.

TomKam

You know what would be a fire episode? Invite one of the "girly"-girls on and talk about everything you talked about. Go ask Valkyrae why she wants to step on people or ask Poki who picks her outfit.

J

just because you have a sensory problem (like food texture) doesnt mean you're on the spectrum lol

ChubbyHobo

my 2 cents. not depressing. just being real.

Rhianna

QT!! I resonate so much with your experience with girl friends. + a lot of other stuff you say. I wonder if you’ve looked into autism spectrum disorder? It presents quite differently in women and quite under-searched. I say this because I’m diagnosed with ASD,ADHD,PTSD,BPD and resonate with a lot of your issues.

I must be psychic cos I commented this before it was mentioned 😹

NightSwipe

Really great episode, I appreciate the candid discussions on more difficult topics, it’s great to learn from new perspectives while laughing at the funny moments along the way :)

Sneakyo13

Only just getting round to watching (cause I couldn’t find nobilo in the uk) but so telling of the society we live in (particularly online) that regardless of the size of the creator, women are always called ‘the girlfriend of xxx’ even when they have their own bonafide audience regardless of their partner. And somehow there is no one who is “xxx’s boyfriend” as far as I know EDIT: IM FURTHER BEHIND THAN I THOUGT I WAS BRB

Isaac Tombleson

hi qt I know you like taylor swift a lot so did you name your assistant after her? just curious thanks

Happyotter

I’m from Walla Walla Washington (wine country) and could get you guys to a winery if you really want. Just putting that out there! Love all the content :)

Alex I

Listeners think it’s a Depressing podcast???? More like speaking truth to real life 1st world problems that are big and super small 😜

Thique

once again begging for an alternative video player to patreon as it is terrible dogshit and lags nearly constantly

A lot of the comments on YouTube are saying this 😂 There have been harder to talk about topics recently, but it's been great! They may need a drunk, sex filled episode, or as QT said "a fun episode were we talk about d*cks, balls and c*m", to balance it all out again 🤣

Giggie

Loving the podcast, but please, I'll do anything for y'all to balance the audio a bit. I keep turning it up to hear Maya and then QT blows my ears off. Love y'all, no disrespect, just want to enjoy the podcast fully.

VuhNeezy

QT I share your loathing of Mayo and sauces. There are a few sauces I can stand to eat like ketchup. But Mayo is the absolute devil!!! It is so disgusting.

The ladybug Amelia

for the love of god! Maya please help QT get health insurance.

Sasha

Just catching up on episodes and that making a friend via pen lending is literally in an episode of the mentalist! I think it’s called the Ben Franklin effect - There are 3 steps (so says Patrick Jane) but you’ve got one down 😂

Michael Kiwan

Video idea, try different ways of opening bottles besides a corkscrew. Maya opening the bottle with a mallet was great

Same. I was a pick me girl though in high school. I had no idea what it was or that I did that until I started watching Wine About It. I relate to Maya’s story more I suppose in this instance. All my guy friends would confess one by one that they loved me and it sucked cause I just wanted friends. Whenever I found a girlfriend I could connect with I was ecstatic. I feel like I still struggle with it some in adulthood too but I’ve got myself a group of girls I love the only issue is none of them hangout together lol I’ve just befriended girls in different areas of my life like work and gym

Lizzy

Again I’m so late to this podcast, but it’s sad to say this, but I started trying to stay close with my girlfriends I made in adulthood because what happens when I get old? I work in a hospital setting and it is so sad to see how many older people have no family and no friends. Or if they do how warming it is to see them visit the patient in sad times. It really made me think where I want to be when I’m 60 or 70 years old. I’m hoping I have friends who come see me after I have a stroke 😭🤣
