OMG QT LOVE THE NAILS!!

Jimijaymes Productions

I'm surprised QT doesn't know aperol spritz, its like the most 'typical girl' drink. Maybe its not in the US. Also I think that high alcohol content (everclear) directly in your mouth and throat is not good for you, it is intended to be mixed.

Jose

im one of the weirdges that sip vodka

JoNatty12

Soda ‘Bout It™️

Caviar

METH ADDICT 😭

Pnwoah

I'm a whiskey girl but I did put in effort to like beer, not because of men, but because of peer pressure lol

Jose Marin

First off great episode! -My wife is a whiskey girl. I think she has like 8 different bottles opened depending on what she feels like drinking. I am a tequila guy and more of a sipping tequila. For a cheap but smooth tequila Costco has the centenario añejo, probably one of the smoothest especially at the low price. -Wtf would anyone drink straight everclear? It’s 95% alcohol 🤢 my wife used it for limoncello this year but that’s it. -that’s crazy that maya licked the gum wall! I think QT would enjoy SLO, it’s changed quite a bit in the last 5-8 years but still a chill place to hang out in. -crazy that ppl are microexamining stories to catch you guys “lying” guess they got nothing better to do

notactuallyOti

As a vodka girlie I feel very flattered

Michal Dobrzynski

A whiskey girl got me into whiskey. Now I love the peaty Scottish whiskey's neat.

Julie T

from now on im telling guys i have a bf but dont worry im a meth addict ty qt

Dylan Myslicki

Anyone else notice QT’s subtle Taylor Swift reference? 😂💎

Alex Blythe

Maya’s hair is 🔥and the chair is peak

ntGonzo

For the name of the pod, I feel Fine About It, you don't need to drink wine because it's just a good name

Michal Dobrzynski

For what it's worth I think QT looks better now than she did when she was younger. Some people just age with grace.

Minish64

The glass of wine in the logo isn’t helping the “podcast is about wine” allegations 😂

Dani- Lee

the 21st birthday sign is 100% still a thing.

Liam

The 21st birthday sign at CP is definitely still a thing, very excited to do it myself

Robert Craig

I just wanna say I appreciate QT and Maya for researching stuff and then knowledge vomiting for the podcast. Also hearing your insights for the Barbie movie was really interesting, especially the stuff about how women who are pretty aren't taken seriously was worth thinking about, I hadn't picked that up from that scene and I'm glad to have had it pointed out.

Zay

Good episode. I think Maya got her points across pretty good. Definitely very interesting to see how intentional the Barbie movie was to be exactly what it is. I thought the history of Barbie was cool as well. I did have the thought about the whole beauty standard thing when it came to the original design of the Barbie doll. I don't think it was the creators intention to confide it to one singular standard, but I do think it was just something that people weren't as "woke" about.

Calla D

I thought the bench scene was the one Greta fought for. The one at the bus stop with the old woman who she says is beautiful. Maybe I'm wrong?

lewits

Totally get it, the prime minister of Finland had videos of her partying “leaked” and so many people go so upset at her. Calling her unprofessional and stuff even tho it was like her personal life. And she didn’t even do anything bad besides have fun…. We will never be seen as strong, smart, independent people because of what society marked us already. It’s sad but I hope things will change, even if it’s lil by lil

Chris

another layer to the scene at the bus stop where barbie tells the elderly woman that she’s beautiful: in barbie land, no one ages. they all stay in their 20s/30s forever. that old woman is the first experience barbie’s ever had that isn’t with someone relatively young, and in a world that often just sees older people as ugly, barbie is able to see her as just a person who is unique, just like every barbie she knows. and the old lady is able to look past other people’s judgements and see her own beauty too. it’s kind of the introduction to a recurring theme explored throughout the film, which is how external approval affects our sense of self. i didn’t think about this until after the movie, but man when i realized it, it really got to me.

Kabir Singh

I ADORE this podcast and look forward to it every week! But if I could make a suggestion (no pressure/obligation to actually do it y'all know best)- I understand it may not be possible, but it would be WIKKED if the backgrounds were darker. Nothing too elaborate even, but I am amongst those who fall asleep watching podcasts (WAI is one of the top tier late night podcasts) and the double white background makes it harder to drift off (FLASHBANG). I really don't wish to step on any toes so please ignore me if I inadvertently did! PS. Looking forward to the merch! October's my birthmonth so definitely going to treat myself to a sweatshirt/hoodie! Cheers, Kabir

PuffTheDargon

QT... if you want you can get alcohol free wines. Like that come in a bottle and everything so you could have the experience without the fear =) . And no i dont mean grape juice i mean literally alcohol free wines in wine bottles. they make them for people who dont drink but still wanna have dinner parties.

PuffTheDargon

Malena is the Jager girl and we all know it.

N.N.

There are some really nice wine-alternative products (usually juices without much sugar added) that are made for people who want to do stuff like wine and cheese, but can't or don't want to have wine. I never heard about "cuffing season" 😂

Ridorana12

Purell's nasty, cheap cousin? As in the hand sanitizer? That sounds horrific as hell

Shunbound

Old isn't pretty because more often than not. Old people are some of the most hateful people alive.

oofted toofted

Omg, after finishing the pod i started listening to Taylor’s bejeweled and qt was literally referencing it 😭😭

seashell

ill take vodka neat sometimes, but it has to be a nice vodka. i dont think drinking vodka neat is very common in the us though, probably because of how big whiskey is here. great episode!

n8qt

MAYA DID NOT GET THE TAYLOR LYRIC NOOOO

n8qt

this was a great episode !

Arrowni

I'm effing 40 why the heck would I think teenage QT would be more attractive than her adult self. When I see a cute teen I hit on their moms

Sam

Right as I was walking into the theater to see Barbie a guy came up to me and said “youre smelling real good tonight” into my ear, and the irony of that was too much for me to handle. Especially hearing the commentary afterwards from ppl on the right about how women are complaining too much and the patriarchy isn’t as bad as the movie makes it out to be

Micah

As someone who, at various points in my life, has been a person who would drink straight vodka and Everclear, I don't recommend either of them. Dark times.

allocat5867

I love Maya's "I'm a gamer" bit! I laugh every time.

SK J

Love that jacket on her

Infidusfiles

The thing about the bus stop scene that gets me every time is that Barbie has never seen an old woman, there are no “old” Barbie’s. For her first thought and thing to say to the woman to be “you’re beautiful” in a place where women are not given the grace of aging in piece without “losing value” is so powerful. And having the old woman’s response be affirming that she is beautiful and confident was doubly so.

soloPFL

The plastic straw is only single use if you use it just one time. I have some plastic straws I wash and use again. Also you drink an Apéritif before dinner. I that’s what QT meant. And yes Aperol Spritz can be an Apéritif…. The origin of Barbie: Lilli, also known as Bild-Lilli, is a discontinued West German comic strip created by Reinhard Beuthien for the tabloid newspaper Bild, appearing there from 1952 to 1961. The toy company Greiner & Hausser Gmbh released a fashion doll line of the same name in 1955, which lead Ruth Handler, the co-founder of American toy company Mattel, to launch a similar toyline named Barbie. Mattel acquired the rights to Lilli in 1964, and all the promotional and merchandising activities related to the character were discontinued since then.

n8qt

it’s not a bit she is a gamer

D

Nooooo I wanted to hear about the Alien thing👽🥺

Eddie

i read this wrong continue with ur days

[REDACTED]

This episode was super good. All of them are, but I really enjoyed this one especially

Anthurium

Maybe you guys need to change your name to “Wino ‘bout it” so you aren’t tied down to drinking just wine.

Jacob

Anytime I can laugh and and learn something in the same episode is a great time, 10/10

Zarianna

Dang it Maya failed the surprise Taylor Swift pop quiz!

Mark Jones

My family is a tequila family, but we are also Mexican so it just happened.

AJ Witt

I used to pretend to like beer in front of the boys but now I genuinely really like it, but I enjoy a fruity drink here n there

Simon

would love to some them make an alcohol tierlist lol, also is qt a bourbon, scotch, rye or else girl?

Demi

Simon asking the big questions. We must know! What kind of whiskey? My wife and I are both high rye bourbons. I "liked" scotch when I was younger, def not my thing anymore.

Michael

That coffee shop story is kinda scary 😅 Edit the meth joke was so funny 🤣🤣🤣
