guess who had a nightmare about cannibalism last night because of yesterday’s episode 😭

Sean Stead

Not QT pulling out Austin's "beautiful and natural" line lol

Dani

yesyesyes, a rebrand would be amazing! New sets, new name, new everything. Wine about it has lost it's identity which made it amazing and desperately needs a revamp! Distracted is a great name. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UrE23bdAFU Said it in a previous comment but something like this setup from link above can work and would look great remotely for a two women podcast.

Upsidedown

Can we keep the jingle though?

Scrando

I think a rebrand makes a lot of sense!

tild404

Rebrand is a good idea and I would probably be more interested in the merch if it was something less specific like Distracted

Sasha

I love Wine About It but to get people off your back about drinking and sponsors too, a rebrand totally makes sense! Distracted would be amazing for merch Someone else asked can we keep the jingle - Can we? Please!

E ✨

Came here to comment that Chuck Bass doesn’t look like Ben Shapiro, but after looking at photos of Ben…Maya was right 😭 Chuck definitely looks better, but there’s a resemblance. Also, pertaining to the SA allegations, “in the summer of 2018, the Los Angeles County District Attorney announced that they wouldn’t be pursuing charges due to “insufficient evidence,” “availability of the victim,” and some allegations being outside of “the statute of limitations.””

Jose Marin

Rebrand def probably needed. I don’t think anyone was ever under the impression this was about wine at all but if it limits sponsors… Had me at first half lost me second half but that Taylor story was worth it!

VancityRen

I don't super love the name distracted cus there's already a podcast called distractable so it might tank your SEO and everything else, but I can understand the interest in a name change.

Julie T

just wanna point out that 1 step forward was released with taylor already credited! she did not blatantly rip off the piano part like that 😭 deja vu and good 4 u were the songs that retroactively added credits

Taylor

Wow that "bees are fish" thing went way over Mayas head lmao

E ✨

The Taylor football thing was definitely a joke and not meant to be taken seriously

Mitch Mitcherson

as for the podcast’s direction or theme i’m probably one of the many who are down with whatever.

TenaciousDealer

Nahh surely they knew that Taylor fan video was a joke LOL, that wasn't a taylor conspiracy video it was a satire.

DewayneIsAwsome

Honestly never even considered that a rebrand would be possible but it actually kinda makes sense and the ideas you guys were talking about are really solid! It'd be a sad farewell to Wine About It but like a full rebrand with new sets, new logos, new merch launch, you could have a whole day just announcing to the world that the podcast is back and fully capitalizing on who you both are now (compared to who you two were back when this all first started).

EJ Hardy

i think a rebrand is really smart 🙂👍

Cameron

Maya is so right about Chuck Bass looking kinda like Ben Shapiro. That was my first thought too lmao

inowb

If/when they rebrand, I really hope Hasan has it in him to top the Wine About It jingle.

starlitstellaa

maya is SO correct about chuck bass = ben shapiro and qt, for once i disagree with you, i hate chuck bass with my whole heart and i watched all six seasons of gossip girl

Abby Traum

I like the idea of a rebrand! You guys deserve good sponsors for all the work you put in!

SuperPax

Vampire Bad Idea Right, All American Bitch, and Get Him Back are all great songs you should give them a listen if you haven't heard them. GUTS was great.

Michael Kiwan

A Taylor dating story videos would be so good. Maybe have them biweekly or monthly.

Catherine Joyce

Agree that there should be a rebrand. It makes a lot of sense to drop any associations with wine as it is not what the podcast is about.

Treyden Talbot

if you're thinking about a rebrand, sooner is always better. i'll miss saying wineabouddid but it'll be worth probably

Axolotl_Pines

Wasn't there issues with good 4 u having a lot of crossover from other songs too?

Kaitlyn

I looked up Chuck Bass and as soon as I seen his face I thought to myself “he looks like a younger version of that douche bag Ben Shapiro” and then Maya said it as I was thinking it. So I have to agree with Maya on this one.

Chipz

i think a rebrand is a good idea, probably doing an ad for it again at the streamer awards or something would help but maybe put it in the middle rather than the end that way people are more likely to see it

Cumtropolis

took me too long to realize Qt was talking about taylor the assistant not taylor the swift

Murkus

maya's so right about chuck bass

Jake

Distracted is a great name

Chloe

qt: you can't not love chuck bass also chuck bass: sexually assaults a 14 year old in the first episode i get it tho you can't not love chuck bass

James DePersico

Totally on board for a rebrand! The pun was definitely fun and witty, but the content has clearly shifted away from drinking, and neither QT or Maya liked wine to begin with. The positioning line under the title of the Patreon has even already removed the “drunk podcast” line, if I saw correctly. So, definitely makes sense to move in that direction. Just a random viewer’s 2 cents who happens to work in brand copywriting, but I prefer “Distracted” to “Lack of Attention” for a rebranded name. It’s cleaner for merch and logo, rolls off the tongue better, and is impossible to misconstrue. Lack of Attention could be understood as “not Getting enough attention” instead of “not Paying attention.” Distracted has a hint of self-deprecation, which is naturally endearing. Distracted also has an “active” connotation. To be distracted, it’s because your attention is actively pulled in numerous different directions, each capturing your attention for a brief time because it’s more interesting in the moment. Which feels appropriate for this podcast’s content. To have a “lack of attention” feels more like a “passive” state of just not being interested enough in anything to devote your attention to it. Lack of Attention does appear totally clear for trademark purposes according to the USPTO TESS trademark database, though. “Distracted” is technically a trademark owned by a small and seemingly little known apparel company, but I wouldn’t imagine that being an issue to trademark either—especially if your logo uses your full name (theirs is a stylized capital D). Just some food for thought!

Jack

I fw a rebrand💯💯💯 maybe switch to crack instead of wine might be bangin ngl

starlitstellaa

finished watching the ep like seven hours later, super down for a rebrand, i really like both distracted and lack of attention! i would definitely be more likely to buy merch w something like that esp as a very distracted person. yall can always bring back the wine for in-person episodes or guest eps!

DaddyWarbucks

I love that the name has nothing to do with the podcast honestly

Arrowni

I need to ask better questions

DaddyWarbucks

Its so funny how rappers can fully lift entire melodies and its totally fine but olivia rodrigo taking one short piano thing is suddenly stealing lol

Murkus

distracted is kinda a sick name for a podcast

ChubbyHobo

personally. i think the wine branding is fun because im one of the (few?) who used to drink a glass with the pod... BUT i will sacrifice that for sick ass merch. "distracted" merch would be cool.

Ankazar

Distracted is a great name, but idk if it's the right choice because Distractable is already a big podcast

jaspersjourney

Fine with a rebrand but not a fan of the options

Ruben

Hi! "Creator" of that Dall-E logo here. Feel free to use it for free, I made it like half a year ago, before the official subreddit existed, and definitely didn't work hard enough on it to deserve money for it, only took me like half an hour to an hour I think. Sidenote: Just using my image as inspiration for a custom made logo that you paid for is probably a better idea, with how the public opinion on AI image generation is so negative lately.

sheeshman

I like talking about music and being critical of art but I’m tired of olivia rodrigo discourse :/ I don’t get being upset a mainstream pop artist sounds similar to other mainstream pop artists before her, let the girl make her angsty songs 🤧 (interpolation n sampling have been around forever) ((love the pod I’ve just seen this same topic on Twitter so much))

Shunbound

I've been told I'm intimidating so I try to avoid hitting on people. Last thing I'd want is for someone to feel pressured.

Fish

Qt being a victim of a romanticized memory of chuck bass is a canon event

gabrieldontsnap

I really like "lack of attention" and I even think "attention loss" could be a good name and merch :) for whatever reason distraction isn't hitting for me

Efim Mincovitch

I usually listen while running, and boy did I not expect eating certain parts of body this time

Brandon Kelly

DISTRACTED gives me FLAGRANT vibes and I love that!

Alex Blythe

New branding~ I feel fine about it

Chris Hall

QT saying different vibes is hilarious

em

i'm 95% sure that football conspiracy was a joke (i could just have too much charitability towards people)

Melanie Stewart

Love all the pluses ab the new branding definitely a good idea. Just cannot get rid of the wine about it jingle anytime you say something like it lol i will miss it too much

brilliantlybleu

I think a rebrand would be a great idea! For all the reasons you both listed. However, I think that the name Distracted might get confused with Distractible, Markiplier's podcast, in case you weren't aware of that. But I like the name "Lack of Attention"!

Acerola

it would be funny to just rebrand to whine about it and tell sponsors it's not an alcohol thing anymore pinky promise

Elise Muir

ive been going through a difficult time mentally recently and wine about it has been able to cheer me up and make me laugh so thankyou🤍

Phatchopolis

Chuck Bass does look like Ben Shapiro. 90 Day Fiancé and it’s spinoffs are the best trash tv show ever produced.

ntGonzo

I love the Wine About It name but it makes complete sense to change it. I used to listen to a podcast named Drunk Tank and they had the same issues with not being able to get sponsors. That, and having a podcast based around drinking can turn people into alcoholics for content which isn't fun

Denver Comp

Down for the rebrand! Distracted is great merch for sure

kerk

dan and blair >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Redcoat

The hilarious thing about the whole Chuck Bass thing is that he is really awful at first. So I had a similar thing happen to what QT is suggesting here, that someone was telling me about the show, and Chuck Bass was their favorite. But as a newbie, when you watch the show, he has a terrible first impression. Like awful. I just remember watching it and being shocked that this was their favorite character.

palibuni

I love the name Wine About it, but Distracted and Lack of Attention is so good too. If you do ever rebrand maybe you could keep the name Wine About It as a segment when you want to talk about something specific, like an ick, random complaint or whatever

Okta

Hard disagree on the Chuck Bass take, always thought he was such a creep!

Fi

Support the rebrand! Lack of attention and distracted would make rlly cool merch and the pod is less about wine and drinking now (plus limited on merch that doesn’t make u look like an alcoholic lol)

StarlitMia

“Some swifties are really brutal to [Olivia Rodrigo]” pun not intended 😂

Anthurium

I would buy so much distracted merch it’s not even funny

Rumi

Ok so here’s my 2am brand idea: “The Tea Totalers”. Or maybe just “Teatotaling”. Basically just swap wine reviews and asmr for tea, and its like an evolution of the Wine About It brand because teetotaling is a term about sobriety, but also like “The Tea” ya know? Anyway, I’m going back to bed now bye

PuffTheDargon

LOL! QT saying what a crazy use of your time... meanwhile i just watched the powerpoint ...

Megan Cormier

I would love a QT episode where she dives into Olivia copying Taylor if there are more examples!

Min

ohh that's a good idea

Min

I love the Distracted name! I think a rebrand might be a good change of pace for you two because of the completely different headspace you two are in than when wine about it first launched. I also think singular (or short) named podcasts are cool and easier for me to remember

Shaliek

Ok, so for most of that story I thought QT was referring to Taylor Swift..😅

Kirsi

Taylor was credited on 1 step forward from the beginning!!! It was an intentional interpolation!!!!! It was deja vu that got credits added retroactively bc people thought there were similarities to cruel summer

BinkyBonky

I would love the distracted rebrand, would be so fire

leadpolarbear

hey guys it’s 7 am i haven’t slept, but what about fine about it?

Mars

Can confirm Chuck Bass looks like pretty Ben Shapiro
