it’s currently 50° in minnesota so I’m gonna listen to this in a HAMMOCK

Abbie

listening while i play valorant

twibay

Waxing is the worst the first time and pain decreases the more you do it and the first time it can be patchy bc ur hairs aren’t growing in the same cycle so after a few times doing it there’s no pores at all. Bruising and being swollen after is not normal btw :/

twibay

But the first time I got waxed my friend literally told me she could hear me grunting all the way in the lobby I also have a very low pain tolerance but I’ve been doing it for over a yr now and it’s barely painful now

hawkmoth

Omg I'm so excited for the Alpharad and Jaiden collab, I've wanted to see them go to Alveus for a while

emmy ★彡

feelin tilted rn too so i might need this lfgggg

Jose Marin

If I was paying what QT is paying for therapy I would find one that’s working with me not one that points out the obvious and that pretty much tells me I’m doing the wrong things. Therapy should make you feel like you’re progressing not like a failure. Anyways that heads up about this being the complaining episode really helped!

Shirley Grace

Wait....so Maya's old therapist essentially told her to TOUCH GRASS?!?

Aleks

All of hexapoda are crustaceans

Emily Haworth

laser hair is like 8 treatments 6 weeks apart then u have to go for touch ups coz it comes back.

Faye852

Licensed esthetician here🤓 being swollen and bruised for days after is not normal for a brazilian wax. Waxing is definitely painful especially the first time but if you keep doing it your hairs grow back thinner and easier to pull/less painful. Pinpoint bleeding is normal (your hairs got ripped out). Pain wise I think everyone is different, for me it’s like a 4/10 and the benefit of not having to shave is nice because shaving gives me ingrown hairs and razor bumps like crazy. Pain can also be worse if you’re close to starting your period or on your period when you get waxed (yes people do it and yes I have had to avoid tampon strings).

twibay

Same I have really sensitive skin so sometimes shaving or using Nair is just worse. Waxing has turned out more efficient

Jhoanna Talaroc

As a 19 yr old girly who watches this pod religiously, y’all are my “girly 101” so thank you for the intro to Brazilian class because this was information I DID NOT know

Emily Haworth

also icl qt i think the person that waxed you was just bad, i had waxing since i was like 12 and I've never had bruising/swelling the next day, maybe some soreness a few hours after but nothing that severe, and i never needed to do any aftercare (the worst thing that would happen is i get an ingrown hair or two)

Faye852

There is also specific wax that is better for sensitive skin! always let your waxer know if you have a high or low pain tolerance and if you have sensitive skin.

smileye

QT im so, so sorry you're going through this :( . My therapist is always really good about making suggestions and immediately saying "if you dont want to do this or it doesn't work for you, we will come up with something else." Maybe its worth telling her that you're frustrated with her because my therapist and my friends who are therapists also says its really important to say when you're angry at them. They can handle it and its an important part of them doing their job well! Or like maya said, maybe you need someone who is a better fit. (sorry for unsolicited advice)

Jose Marin

Got to the end and now all I hear when singing “wine about it” is “tinky winkie” 😭

Samuel Lazar

Man their situation sounds hard to be happy in. I don’t know how you would do it with all that shit.

Anthony Snider

You do great work with the streamer awards, I just hope people learn and grow. Even if you don't do it again, it's understandable, but god bless the toxicity from people that can't comprehend why you do it is insane

Dees

I really like the pod and listen to it every week and love the consistency. But when this will overflow the creators' cup, I don't mind if they have to scale the frequency down. I see the patreon as an extra support of the creator and don't see it as an 'I pay x amount and now I have to get y amount every month'. Just hoping that they see scaling down as an option if that is better for themselves, and don't feel pressured from subscribers.

LeahGia

To spread some positivity, last week I saw a tweet about the awards show that almost made me tear up. triciaisabridy said that when she told her dad she was nominated for an award, he said he was proud of her for the first time in her life and she will never ever forget that moment. The amount of dedication this show requires is absolutely insane but QT is the reason that moment and I’m sure many other unforgettable moments are possible. QT did that.

tawrry

Waxing imo isn't worth it compared to laser. I did a year of waxing every 6 weeks and it was okay. Laser hurts less and after 2 years (6 weeks in between sessions) hair is thinner and doesn't grow as dense. If that makes sense. Overall, with laser the more sessions you have the less hair so your next session may be in 2 months not 6 weeks.

Jennica

Definitely had a bad waxer! For sure still painful, but you shouldn't be brusied! It's still a weird, vulnerable moment.

coreaguilar

I really appreciate the amount of work that you both put into your own projects and this podcast. I don’t mean to come off as para social but you’re both extraordinary people that deserve a break from so much hatred and weirdos from the internet. I don’t think this comment will be as impactful as I’d like it to be but I hope it makes one of y’all’s day slightly better.

Amanda

Can confirm, I had laser done and there’s no pores now, I highly recommend it! I don’t remember the number of sessions but the spa gave me a schedule and I stuck to it. I paid once and it covered all the sessions and touch ups. It’s been like 5 years and nothing has grown back

Abby

i work a 9-5 and then just chill and that's almost too much for me! yall doing way too much. the dam ain't gonna hold all that water...give yourself a break

DairinDust

I’ll never reveal my hooha secrets

Roan9909

QT your thoughts and feelings are valid. I was just thinking today that sometimes things aren’t going right and you have to take the “win” of … ie (went for a walk) or for me (did this exercise today). If people can’t accept that then f* them. They are not you and haven’t been through your trauma or living your life. Sometimes just doing the simplest little things is all we get accomplished and that is more than ok, but great!

KellyAnn

Maya, I work for a nonprofit and it blows my mind that youre able to be a director and do many other jobs on top of it. You work very hard and its evident from your chanels, website, animals, ect. You’re amazing and should never discredit how much you do!!

Murkus

Seems so crazy to be told to put more on your plate in response to your problem that is you have too much on your plate. If a therapist told me that I think I'd explode

FrostWolf

I loved this episode, I really like hearing about QT's experiences with therapy because it helps me feel not alone. I also had therapists in the past who sounded like QT's, they were very reactive in their responses to me like when I would say I am really lonely and trying to make friends but I find it hard so i'm doing little things to do that, they'd respond with you need to do more and really put yourself out there. But I told them I didn't feel confident at all going out, and it's led to situations where I will have a panic attack in my car and end up not going in to the thing. I don't currently have a therapist, the last one was not only just a bad fit for me but there was an indicent where she got mad at me for swearing in a conversation, and said "You don't need to curse" like some kind of preschool teacher. She saw I was playing with a pocket knife on my desk, I was just spinning it around. I like to fidget. She asked me about it and I told her as much. Then the next day she called the hospital for the group therapy program I was at and told them all about it, trying to say I was an active danger to myself.

Mitch Walsh

I love it when wine about it whines about it

Mt86

I have no experience in this but I've heard that sugaring is better than waxing. I don't know what the difference is, I'm just putting it out there. Lol

Raths

Electrolysis or laser if you wanted to more perma get rid of hair

Raths

I know a bunch of people who got laser, best thing they have done

Raths

#qtsaidbringbackthebush

Hisham

this should've been the YouTube episode. this is an amazing episode and i don't like that it's pay walled.

Georgette Rosin

they said why it was switched in the youtube episode. kind of rude tbh

Erika

QT's league smurf ign could be "cleanhoohaw" and i'd honor her in a heartbeat it always makes me laugh whenever she pronounces "hoohaw" loved this episode lmao

Sorin

I hope you guys get through this rough time. I am also getting through some bad times (uni exams and sleep problems that affected my mental). Please take care and prioritize your mental health you can't do anything without it after a point(learning this for the 1000th time). I also want to say that I loved the live stream at the Vegan Nom( couldn't stop smiling the whole time watching)

Zofia Verde

So I’m a “person with a normal job” and I feel for you! We all have different struggles. You guys being successful doesn’t mean that what you’re going through isn’t valid. I’m sorry that you can’t express that freely to a wider audience, sometimes people are just too closed off in their own perspective.

VraelRahl

I really think Lud should ask QT what her last name is

Erin

i cant stop laughing at 1:03:30 at how lost qt looks when maya crashes

Sam

As a licensed esthetician the laser will work but I think you may have to do it in more sessions than you think.

Sam

Also, the Brazilian wax isn’t supposed to bruise. She did a bad job and lifted your skin.

savannah crozier

omg whattt??? i thought it was normal to bruise😭 gotta find a new girl smh

Sam

It could be the wax she is using, not her technique, but I do Brazilians mainly bc they make a lot of money and I haven’t bruised anyone in years. I use hard wax on the punani so I don’t use the paper strips. the paper strips are what pulls your skin because soft wax sticks to everything. Hard wax that you put on and use the end of the wax to pull it off, still sticks to the skin but doesn’t adhere like soft wax. Hard wax mostly only grabs the hair. This was a lot but I hope it helps :)

Babafunlayo Oke

This was hands down one of the best Wine About Its. Also I say this again with my whole chest: FUCK THE HATERS.

CoolCrib

damn that's a lot of whine

Ashley L

“Walking in rain boots” 😂😂

Nathan Overmann

Loved this ep! The vulnerability eps always help me feel more grounded in my life knowing that these thoughts, feelings, and insecurities are just a part of being human regardless of many external variables

Klav

Qt – a lot of studies show that the most affective type of therapy for someone really doesn’t have a lot to do with the actual type of therapy, but the strength of the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client. Maybe it’s time to break up (after the streamer awards are over and you actually have a minute to breathe) <3

Snow

honestly this episode was great it made me feel validated in my own struggles as of late. January feels like it has done nothing but beat everyone down and knowing that it is okay to not feel great right now because two women i look up to can express themselves like I can makes going about the days manageable

Mitch Mitcherson

I hate when therapists give homework assignments. It’s so out of touch.

GabbysANinja

Hey!! Laser hair removal is permanent, you just have to make sure you do not do an IPL laser (those are not permanent results). You may get some regrowth way down the line after hormonal changes (pregnancy, menopause, etc) but it’s incredibly worth. Some places (like Milan Laser) will charge more upfront but are lifetime memberships with unlimited times in case you need a touch up later :) not an ad just a 27 year old who is super happy I did it lol

GabbysANinja

I looked into it after I had a brazilian wax and almost threw up from the pain so QT is 100% right

Andrea Mehre

Tbh a lot of people probably just can’t afford to buy tickets this year, last year was really rough financially for a lot of people. I’d love to go if I could, just doesn’t make sense financially!

GabbysANinja

Ope, that was an inside thought

Kab

I feel like QTs wax girl might’ve done a bad job, or her skins SUPER sensitive. I’ve had multiple Brazilians and I def don’t develop bruises😭

The Real Zealot

This is what people mean when they say "selling your soul" it's not literally about demons it's about sacrificing your mental health and morals for money and infinite growth.

Greg Chuggs

Im not a therapist but based on what QT said, it seems like her therapist is pushing too hard. Id freak out too if my therapist was like that! Sometimes its hard to find a therapist/psychiatrist that truly understands the client. Ive been to at least 5 or 6 in my 10 years of mental health support.

Cynthia Soly

sometimes performers use make up for, for example armpits for it to look smooth

Elijah

It sounds stressful or annoying that you feel your therapist isn't actually supporting you, however you feel about it is valid! It must be so exhausting also, with everything regarding the streamer awards and how people always cause a hullabaloo over nothing. Best of luck with all of that though, and ticket sales and everything! Hopefully the streamer awards at the very least will pay for itself like last year. Loved both episodes this week btw, nice work to unpaid intern! Found the conversation around taylor swift ai really insightful, and I hope that she does pursue it all legally or whatever so that hopefully real change can be made regarding ai but also don't blame her if she isn't able to for one reason or another. It's frustrating that we may not see the needed changes being brought in until someone personally has the funds and chooses to go after it. Over here in the EU, they have created a proposed AI act that seems it may be trying to regulate all AI, including p*rn but I'm not 100% sure as the language seems to be vague? But it's not even been passed yet, and I'm assuming it won't be for quite some time when clearly there needs to be protections in place asap for multiple reasons, including the art side and music.

Julie T

for all period havers with cramps: may i recommend you rael sticky heat patches. they're basically just normal hand warmer pouches but with a sticky side to stick inside your underwear. i wish they lasted longer but they're sooo helpful for when you have to be out and about but still have to deal with cramps

Chloe Rene

Omg you have no idea how bad I needed this today. Going to find some now 🤣😫

Alex

They made you go on all fours? All i have to do is do the butterfly pose. Honestly, it might be your waxer that sucks. I mean don't get me wrong, the first couple of times hurts, but it gets better and personally I like waxing more then shaving. It last longer.

Chloe Rene

This actually was cathartic for me. I love these kinds of episodes because it reminds me I'm not alone because sometimes you just have a bad day and get pissed off at everything! And that's okay!

Reoopc

Is there a “How To: Be A Girl” club though? I need help

PimpedMandem

I simply do not get it. It's not judgment, it's not hatred, I'm straight up just confused about why QT doesn't take a LONG break from being a content creator, or does a Pokie and perhaps let's of just a bit of the gas. Not because she's bad at what she does or anything like that, but because it seems like it's wrecking her, straight up. Anyways hope they're feeling better for the weekend.

Tanja

QT you gottttaaaa tell your therapist that she's pushing you too much.

Tanja

That therapist sounds like the WORST! I had a terrrrrrible one aswell but found a hopefully good one now. Try again if you can 🤗

PLL

Yeah, that's what I was thinking as well. And the bruising for a week after??? I've never had that happen, that's horrible

Rey Fisher

QT question: do you happen to be anemic? That bruising seems brutal.

Jay Carter

Hey! First time commenting. I love your podcast. As a man it is very interesting to learn what youre going through and become a better human and also youre very funny. I also find it infuriating that everyone especially on X just hates on people without any information or without seeing humanity in others. That they assume the worst and believe lies is just very depressing.

Sara Tabitha M.

I feel like every influencer/online personality needs an assistant dedicated to creating a PowerPoint of positive comments to look at every week

Simon

I loved this episode

Shaun Cheah

Be the change you wanna see in the world? I feel like a weekly PowerPoint of Positivity would be a banger of a post on the Reddit.

Mr TheWhite

I lol'd at the "LowTierGod is amazing" line. I'm glad this ended up on patron cause that line would def get clipped. Ltg is super homophobic/misogynistic and weirdly racist too.

em

QT you gotta get a new therapist

Kayloox

I wouldn’t be able to stand qt’s therapist 😭 imagining my therapist simply adding more to my plate to “help me” would just piss me off fs

Kayloox

Omfg I had no idea the brothers from Zoboomafoo were still making educational content 😭 thats so cool! I loved that show as a kid!

Marc !

i think that pushy style of therapy might work for some people, but I don't like it either. it's a balance because I also don't want to talk to someone who always takes my side or never pushes me. re: replying to haters, i like to think someone else who reads the conversation learns something, but doesn't feel the need to say as much. even the person who retorts at first may come around later and feel embarrassed by their behavior. i hope

Xavier Doss

I commend the way Maya is Luds biggest hater, actually the funniest thing ever.

PuffTheDargon

FYI for laser hair removal, if done correctly after a few treatments eventually the hair folical will die fully and you shouldnt have to keep going back or at least only for very spot treatments on ones that dont die out.

PuffTheDargon

DO IT! Sensory depravation tank/floats are the only way i can turn my brain off. it took some getting used to though like... the first few times was almost unsettling cause i wasnt used to it but its lovely.

PuffTheDargon

Man i would love to go to the streamer awards, but i am not local so its a little not economical to fly to LA with like 1 month notice and book an air bnb or hotel for 1 night. if i had friends or something there then maybe but yeah its a little hard to attend unless you live there and i feel like the audience in general is probably not mostly local to LA .

Devyn

my favorite thing is when you, qt, are going off on idiot people and it's always "ludwig - i sleep with him" and never "ludwig my boyfriend" it's genuinely the funniest thing and it always makes me laugh, anyways im excited for streamer awards <3

Taylor

If anyone's struggling to participate in something like a yoga class (and can't relax following a YT video at home), if you have the means, you can find platforms to do 1-on-1 virtual sessions. They'll usually be .5-1$ per minute and they can focus on things more specific to you (:

Mrs Coffv

Brazilian wax hurts so much but its worth it to me tbh

Mrs Coffv

oh one thing thats a lil less sticky and painfull is sugaring, its like wax but made out of sugar and its not hot it uses ur body heat

Mrs Coffv

vent all you want its okay

Mrs Coffv

idk if i spelled that righjt

Michael Low

long time man listener, QT and Maya are fucking hilarious and deserve every goddamn ounce of success they have

Adrian

i love listening to vent episodes

Steven Precourt

Most of the people who pay attention to and vote for the streamer awards are fans of QT, so it makes sense that most of the nominations and votes are for streamers who are watched by people who also QT. The same thing happens with other steamer award shows.
