Hey man, new to the channel. Thanks for giving Digimon, especially the dub. I know it’s far from perfect but I appreciate you giving it a chance. As you have probably learned in this episode, there is a bit more nuance to digivolution than just powering up. Digivolution relies heavily on the symbiotic relationship between the Digimon and their human partners. Digimon with human partners can digivolve much faster than they normally would on their own, albeit temporarily. In exchange, they serve as friends, protectors, and champions to their human partners. However, their digivolution becomes dependent on the nature of their relationship and the state of mind of their human partner. If their relationship with their partner becomes toxic or abusive, or if their partner’s mind is going to dark places; the digivolution will become corrupted, resulting in the Digimon going berserk, even attacking their friends and partners without hesitation as you’ve seen. Like a real life relationship; digivolution cannot be rushed or forced, and Tai learned that the hard way. Sorry for the long-winded explanation. Just thought you’d appreciate the information. As an old fan of the series, I guess I’m just excited to see someone trying it out. If you have any questions (that don’t spoil); I’d be happy to help. Hopefully with less lengthy answers. 😅
