Dear Cinderwing3D Community,

We want to take a moment to address something that’s been weighing heavily on many of you. We've heard your concerns about the challenges of competing with cheap, mass-produced knockoffs flooding the market. We want you to know — we see it, we hear you, and we are not okay with it.

To combat this, we've brought on a legal team to actively work on reducing the presence of drop-shipped and unauthorized products across the globe. This is a global effort, and it’s just the beginning.

As part of this initiative, we’ve created a Distributior Tier. This system will help us recognize and support the incredible creators who have built their businesses with integrity, while also giving us better visibility into those who are not following the rules. If you are already in the Commercial Tier and not working with or plan to work with a Distribution Company you are fine and there is no need to change your tier.

We are so inspired by this growing industry and the passionate community behind it. Please know we’re doing everything we can to protect your hard work and keep this space thriving for everyone who’s doing it right.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us. 💛

Please see our updated Welcome Post for more information about the Distributior Tier: HERE

This is an amazing idea! Definitely support this and once I have my new shop built and farm running I'll definitely be updating my membership!

Im a little confused.. if we have the commericial license we have to upgrade ?

Morgan Kotnik

Thank you for your hard work and dedication to us!! You're not just an amazing designer, you care about us and our small businesses and that means a lot. I hope you have a ton of success fighting your battles and know a bunch of us are behind you! Thank you again!!

What is a distributer(like what can they do)im confused versus just having the commercial license

If you are already in the Commercial Tier and not working with or plan to work with a Distribution Company to sell your product you are fine and there is no need to change your tier. :)

Would Amazon FBA (sending to their warehouse) considered part of the distribution tier?

Bill

Can you expand on the definition of a Distributor? I have the same Amazon FBA question, and same for TikTok FBT. We're selling it directly from our Amazon or TT Store, but they house it and ship it when someone buys it.

Gulfport 3d Prints

I’m currently selling other designs on fba and was just about to start some turtles and with you now wondering if I can with the commercial tier

Michelle

Thank you so much for making this change!

Jeremy Manning

A little off topic but what about those that are modding your files IE turning them into straw toppers that i currently see flooding TTS now unless I completely missed seeing those files uploaded

cinderwing3d

As long as you are making your OWN PRODUCT and shipping via FBA are ok!

You may add small holes to the models for magnets, straw toppers, and keychains, yes

UKCustom3DPrints

Thank you, yes I make everything myself and have just started testing shipping to Amazon FBA.

Jeremy Manning

Ahhh ok then I completely missed that lol. I just saw them start blowing up out of nowhere

Mike

I wish you had a maker tier because I love your stuff so much but currently can't afford a 3rd subscription. And I totally agree that the illegal mass production should be stopped! I wish you all the very best. ❤️

cinderwing3d

Hi there! I have no plans to proceed with this at the moment! $10 a month is the absolute lowest am willing to accept since I put out well over $10 a month of models each month. 👍 But I greatly appreciate you and your support!!!!!

Herb Veitenhans

Yeah, ever since Temu flooded the market, sales of full size dragons have tanked. Tadlings do ok

cinderwing3d

And that is exactly what me and my team are combating :)

Ariann Childress

How will this affect those of us who already paid for the yearly subscription?

cinderwing3d

Unless you quality as a distributor, nothing changes for you :)

Lee Parker

Noticed a couple of Locals Re-selling Cinderwing3D Designs from Temu, at our local Market.

Dominic Pessagno

If a subscriber mass produces them with a printer and sells them to a re-seller there's nothing that can be done

Dominic Pessagno

if someone with a commercial license is selling them to the re-sellers there's NOTHING you can do. this would be the same as someone buying a design of cults3d and including a purchased copy of the file with every print. any lawyer that tells you otherwise is just interested in taking your money

Erischilde

Thank you! This is great news!

MiracleMan76

Just to make sure I’m doing everything right and understand fully. I have the commercial tier and have had amazing success with them. Do I need to change or do anything to ensure I keep my commercial tier? Do I need to report or add my name or business on a list other than when we did when we first signed up?

Dgloss01

Thank you for all you do to help is all be successful! Keep making beautiful models.

Magic Storm Art

The way I kinda read this is that it helps Cinderwing find out if people selling through Temu are legit and paying the license. So like if you're selling under consignment at local stores or craft shows, that wouldn't be effected. But wondering about people that do amazon? I don't but wondering how those play in Edit: I see she addressed that in another comment. Sounds like it's kind of targeting resellers, not sellers.

Tammy Null

Thank you for all you do! I always bring my 3D printer with me to events, because I want to share the passion for prints like yours ! As a teacher, I am always looking for the opportunity to inspire. Thank you for such wonderful designs to share with my students and those that attend the vendor fairs I have been at this year.

JungleDragon

My offer to help with the counterfeits on Amazon still stands, and I'm proud to offer prints of your designs that are fully attributed to you as a creator!

JungleDragon

^ Well, that very much depends on the commercial license in question. It would logically follow that a distributor license is delineated from a commercial license so that Cinder and her formidable exec don't have to worry about revoking commercial licenses because a distributor is abusing them by mass-producing and wholesaling under a simple commercial license and thus using the loophole you yourself are pointing out to enable sale of Cinder's designs without commercial licensing. JungleDragon

It's almost as if someone is encouraging such behavior... Cinder, also happy to give some free advice on how to combat the above. If it any point you aren't happy with your IP attorney, the one I've worked with since my fledgling days as a business owner is excellent and I would highly recommend them. Don't listen to this person, there is plenty that can be done, and all that NEEDS to be done to stop this is a simple modification to the commercial license.

QuirkWorks3d

Some concerns here. Once companies get a hold of your design and resell it unless you want to pay thousands, and thousand's of dollars and take them to court you don't really have a means of stopping them especially on places like Temu, Amazon etc. So isn't this just going to charge those who are doing things the right way 10x more per month ? Or are you trying to generate extra income so you can pursue these hundreds of companies who are just ripping off the designs and not selling them with integrity ?

cinderwing3d

We do very much have the ability to shut them down. The price a layered thing. The income obviously helps with the legal fees. I will not deny that. That being said, I will be manually approving anyone who joins it, and if they do not meet my laundry list of standards, they get refunded and booted. Having direct control over this list allows me to do much cheaper "sweeps" on sites, instead of directly targeting. Know exactly who I don't need to go after makes the process far easier for the IP team. And again, for the majority of folks who would even qualify for such a tier, the price difference means little to their profits, based off discussions with other businesses in the distribution field (via our IP team)

I have subscribed to the $10 plan; how do I obtain the commercial license certificate?
