Update: Community MOD attached below!! TINY Crystal Dragon KEYCHAIN VERSION! Community Mod made by Discord Tag: "Jerm240"

--------------------------

Hi Cinders!!

I have a fun new Tiny Model for you all! It's a TINY SPIN on the Crystal Dragon! I have revamped the 2022 Crystal Wyvern into a Tiny Crystal Dragon with more articulation! PLUS, since the original Crystal Dragon was made with a Long Tail Version, I thought it would be fun to include this model with one as well!

Files Included:

Tiny Crystal Dragon

Tiny Crystal Dragon - LONG Tail

The long one is a really fun print at 100% just over 5feet 3inches! I recommend printing it at 100% as it's the strongest, but it has also been tested at 75%! I hope you all enjoy! :)

Was made with Tri-color filament! : HERE

Awesome! The tiny dragons and the frogs are my favorites

Vinny Ferraro

Would love to see more painted 3mf files from you!

Lilian Lee

Wayyyyy cute and longer than me at 100% 🤣

Nikki Line

wow!! what is the build plate size for 100% giant tail?

Arch Vcx

is it still june?

Josh Carter

Wait, long tail crystal dragon? Is there one for FDM printing? I tried printing the resin long-tail one on an Elegoo Saturn but I couldn't get the supports to come off cleanly. I'd LOVE to see a long-tail crystal one that I could print on FDM! [Edit: and I love this guy, too! I'm warming up the Prusa right now to get one printing!]

Josh Carter

Looks like it'll fit on a Prusa! It's 192x192x20mm.

Chris (CAV217)

How long did it take to print, and how much filament?

MeMeKris3

What's the build plate size on the long one?

Jazzy_Plz

There is not, and likely will not be a long tail Original Crystal Dragon. It's about as long as it gets already. The Resin Stacked one is actually one of the very first community mods.

Jazzy_Plz

All Cinderwing models, including this one, fit on a standard Ender 3 plate.

Josh Carter

Ah, great, thanks for clarifying. I have the stacked model and one day I'll get it to print well. :) This new guy looks ideal for FDM printing and he'll make a great gift to somebody!

3DForge

it will fit on any plate 200x200 or larger

Robert Merrell

I have two going right now! I cant wait for this to be done!

Nikki Line

awesome!! my printer is 20x20

brian hilligoss

Man thought they where fast. On my sovol sv06’s it’s 11

Purple Panda Designs

There are so many small sections that are close together that I assume the acceleration doesn't come into play that much.

Noah M

thats a 1 hour difference my man lol they are pretty fast

Sam Dekok

Any chance of a longtail version coiled into a rectangle to suit a resin printer bed's shape please? Would look stunning as a display

Chris Davis

I had about 10 spikes not print correctly but all of the rest did. Any suggestions? Printed with PLA on Bambu P1P at all default settings.

Kenny kiser

Print time changes per user settings and machine. I just did 1 at 120% with 3% infill on a bambu p1p in 8hr47min

Leah Veckey

Yeah mine unfortunately fails on the first layer of the third spike and then several others after that. I quit trying after 4 failures..

Nikki Line

what nozzle are people using? my default is 0.6 but most of mine fused together. wondering if it’s that or the older filament

Jazzy_Plz

Yes! It can be sized down to 75% as well!

Jazzy_Plz

A really clean bed goes a long way. I personally scrub my PEI sheets once a week with dawn and water! They get an IPA wipe after every print too, this guy is tiny AND has many MANY parts!

Scott Olson

i use .4 nozzles and have had no issues with any other models, Have not tried this one yet

Nikki Line

i don’t usually have issues with a 0.6 but this one was stiff. wondering if smaller is better

Rick Craig

Is it failing because it is coming loose from the print bed? I printed this using a brim with a 0.14mm brim separation gap which made it really easy to remove after printing. Everything printed perfectly.

Rick Craig

I always use 0.4 on these models with no issues. With smaller "baby" geometry models I opt for 0.16 layer height instead of 0.2. Takes a little longer to print (I'm on a Bambu X1), but the prints come out really clean.

Nikki Line

thanks. will retry with a smaller layer height

Chris Davis

It didn't look like it moved, but I'm going to try one more with your brim suggestion.

vicky

Mine worked amazing did 2 different sizes

Chris Davis

Rick your suggestions worked perfectly. .14 brim, .4 and .16 layer height and I did slow the top layer speed to 190 just to make sure.

shane

I'm printing on ender 3 s1 and bambu carbon, both are .4 nozzle with a .2 layer height. I did go to 4 wall loops and that seems to make the links a little more robust??? it maybe just the filament but they seem to hold up better?

Chris Tuttle

Printed two of these and my daughters LOVE them. I did 3 walls and 15% infill with adaptive cubic and they printed beautifully. Both P1P and X1C. Has anyone printed it smaller than 100% on a .04 nozzle?

Rick Craig

That's awesome! I just finished another one that ran perfectly as well.

Nichole Gandy

I was just playing around with it. I printed it at 50%, 10% infill 3 walls, layer height .2 first layer .3, with outer and inner brims on my X1C. It turned out pretty cute. 75% 2 colors worked well too.

Rick Craig

I've always opted for additional wall loops to try to help "kid proof" my models. For the smaller / baby models I use 5 wall loops at 0.16 layer height and for the larger models I go up to 7 wall loops at 0.2 layer height. I'll also usually dial up my infill to 40% or so just to give the models a little more "heft". It's probably overkill, but I'm keeping 4 young "active" grand daughters busy with these so it's worth it to me :)

Jon Langfitt

I've had good results with all the Cinderwing models I've printed so far on my Ender 3 with a .6mm nozzle, .2 layer height, 2 walls, 25% cubic infill. Until I get an SKR 3 for it, I've been using rafts and so far it's been good with the rainbow PLA I've been running @ 195 C.

Faku

i printed this at max on a kobra max. final result? 3meters and 12cm long

Dan Ward

Mine printed fine on my p1p but I couldn't get the brim to detach from all those links. Ended up in the bin.

Jesiy Bass

I've tried to print 4 of them and each time there have been issues. My daughter wants one but mama just can't figure it out! I have made sure my bed is as level as possible and I scrub the glass plate with dawn and water after every print. I'm printing with .4mm nozzle, .2 layer height, 20% infill. Any other suggestions?

Jazzy_Plz

I'd recommend and brim!

Misti Graas

same here , I printed 4 of them , 3 failed. I tried 20% 30% 2 walls , 3 walls, all failed. It breaks in half when I take it off the bed

Rick Craig

I have always beefed these up because I know my Grandkids are going to give them a real work-out. I use 5 walls on smaller (baby) sized models at a 0.16 layer height and 7 walls on full size prints at 0.20 layer height. I also go with 40% infill (gyroid) because I want them to have some weight. It works for me ...

Update: Community MOD attached below!! TINY Crystal Dragon KEYCHAIN VERSION! Community Mod made by Discord Tag: "Jerm240" I cannot find this keychain file. Where do I find it?

Jazzy_Plz

As this file has been archived it has been added to the available files on MMF/Cults

Kyle Horne

im new here, just created patreon to subscribe to some artist. trying to understand this, even after we subscribe, we dont get access to old stuff unless we buy it aswell? i was looking for a mini dragon to print and came to this, but cant find download.

Muffina

is it correct that this one is way smaller than the rose extra long necklace? it is only around 130 grams and 12 hours print... is this the correct size?

Caitlin Martin

Hello there, Would someone be able to help me find the file to create the tiny dragon keychains with the full dragon.

cinderwing3d

You can add the keychain hole yourself, its an allowed mod! Most slicers can do this with the use of negative modifiers!

Norm Lai

Hi, Where can I find this file now? I tried on Cults3d and Myminifactory and don't seem to see it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Alina

where can I find the community mod for the long tail?

Renee villard

Is this a file that is still available? Cannot find it on MMF.
