Hi Cinders!

---------- EGG-sclusive EGG-straviganza! ----------

MORE EGGS! You all have been asking for a version of a mystery egg - so I'm bringing you THREE!

BLANK, MYSTERY, and CRYSTALIZED

(The Blank and Mystery eggs each include a special rendition that has a flat gem for a sticker location)

These are EXCLUSIVE FILES, meaning they are only available through supporter access for you all to enjoy and will not be made public! :)

IMPORTANT NOTES: These Eggs are slightly different then the previously released Cinderwing eggs please read below:

The lock on the eggs has been re-done to be looser and easier to lock and unlock

The eggs have been made thinner to use less filament and has faster print times then the originals

The eggs have been resized from the original eggs (Dragon Scale & Crystal) and are now Larger to match 100% Egg to 100% dragon. Thus, if you scale the eggs to 60% they can fit 60% baby dragons in them!

Additionally the original Crystal Egg & Dragon Scale Eggs have been updated with the new sizes and new locks as well!

And thanks to Jazzy, all the eggs have been aligned so the top and bottom have the same color when using tri or duel filaments

Crystal Egg is an exclusive and can be found HERE

Dragon Scale is a previously released model and can be purchase or re-download from MMF or Cults3d if you have already bought it. (if you buy through MMF you get a discount!)

Thank you! (Please see below link for filaments used)

Thank you!! Love the previous eggs, but don’t love the time and amount of filament. These look perfect. Can’t wait to print!!

Morgan Kotnik

These are EGGmazing!! Thank you!

Levelbedded_XYZ

What dragons fit best in these? And can they scale ok?

Rebecca (LionMight)

LOVE Man I think I need my "keepers" collection space to grow.. I was also just thinking about the time and filament of those eggs today, so thank you!!

Jazzy_Plz

It's all in the post. The eggs are made to scale 1 for 1 with the dragons. Please make sure you read the bulletpoints in the post!

D3D Prints

Yay! Thank you so much for these

Ashley Florack

When I try to slice the crystal egg "aligned" I'm getting the error "No layers were detected. You might want to repair your STL file or check their size or thickness and retry" Is that just me? Or are others getting the same error?

Jazzy_Plz

These were all printed and tested before release. I'd recommend checking your layerheights That being said I will check it out! EDIT: I cannot seem to re-create this. If anyone else has this issue please let us know!

Ashley Florack

It’s the bottom piece from the aligned file that doesn’t slice. The top is ok.

Jazzy_Plz

Crystal or Crystalized? and what scale? EDIT: Checked both.... not coming up with anything What slicer?

Ashley Florack

100% crystal egg aligned file. Bambu studio slice.

The WooDen Fox

I purchased the crystal egg off etsy before I became part of the patreon. How can I get the file that is updated?

Ashley Florack

Sorry!! I gave you the wrong file name. It’s the blank egg gem. And it’s the top piece not the bottom. It’s gotta be something I did 🥺

George Mikhail

Can the previous eggs made thinner as well? Thanks!

Jazzy_Plz

If you read the post, that's already been done!

Jazzy_Plz

I'll check it out thank you!

Jazzy_Plz

Please reach out via Discord Support tickets in the server, or email! I'll get ya fixed up

Dustie Chase

If they updated the file go back to hwere you bought it and redownload it. New files will be in it

Jazzy_Plz

Thank you Dustie but that does not work for Etsy unfortunately.

T.J. Rusk

I bought the dragon scale egg back in November on cults. How do I go about getting the updated files?

Jazzy_Plz

Just re-download it from Cults!

T.J. Rusk

I just redownloaded it. I think I got it. Curious though, it's positioned the same, so how does the top and bottom get the same color if using gradient filaments?

Jazzy_Plz

ideall you would print bottoms, then tops

T.J. Rusk

That would make sense. I print top and bottom and the same time so thats why I was confused. Thanks!

Ashley Florack

I’ll try again today! I really want to print it. Looks SO amazing 🥰

Michael Davis

Hi Tracy, PixelForge3D is selling your models on Etsy without and mention of Cinderwing. I thought this was just wrong.

Melanie St Onge

Thank you so much! I printed a dragon scale egg at 150% in tri-filament and it turned out beautiful, but scales & colors didn't line up exactly, I was going to send a message to see if you could fix it, but now I don't have to! I just re-downloaded the updated file from Cults, thank you for your amazing work!!! I can't wait to make another set!

Maury

It would seem they have fixed that problem.

Andy's 3D

A heart eggs can be amazing too❤️🙏

nicky Thibodeaux

I believe if I read it right it's okay to sale on etsy not temu and another site. They probably done looked at this but I'm not 100 percent sure.

Jazzy_Plz

I'm 98% sure this is slicer goofiness yall. I'm sorry it's being rude haha

Ashley Florack

Thanks for checking. It still doesn’t work for me 😞 I thought the designer uses bambu studio to print so I didn’t expect any problems when using the same software.

Mark Mageau

What can these eggs be scaled down to? When I slice just the bottom of the Crystalized Egg it says it will take over a day to print. This can't be correct. Any idea of what is happening? Thanks in advance!

George Mikhail

I read the post. It says the sizes and locks were updated but it didn't mention if they were redesigned to be thinner. Thank you for confirming!

Arellano

I scaled down the mystery egg to 62% and 14-16 inch crystal dragons fit perfect

Jazzy_Plz

We check the files on Cura, Bambu Studio, and Prusa. I'm honestly not sure what is happening on this one. None of the test team can re-create it.

Kathryn McMurray

I think thats how they made them its too big for my plate . "the originals The eggs have been resized from the original eggs (Dragon Scale & Crystal) and are now Larger to match 100% Egg to 100% dragon. Thus, if you scale the eggs to 60% they can fit 60% baby dragons in them!"

Jazzy_Plz

Yes this is correct

Jazzy_Plz

You shoudlnt need to no, thats ratehr strange! This egg is way less tight from the old style

Morialkar

Sooo happy they look really nice! Any chance the advent calendar variant of the original scale egg will be updated as well?

Royal Fortune 3D

Just for those who want to know. I tested the aligned Mystery egg at 90% and got a 100% scale Dragon inside easily. The 100% Rose egg fit my 125% rose Dragon and a 75% scaled dragon fit in a 65% mystery egg. I know eggs are a big deal and saving filament is a huge plus. Hope this helps others out.

Royal Fortune 3D

I use Bambu slicer and have landed all the eggs to print test sizes for my eggs to dragon rations. All the new egg files loaded/sliced and printed perfectly. I did have to cut the aligned ones apart to fit them at 100%, but no issues and no supports need. All done in .4 nozzle at .12 layer height and a .6 nozzle at .24 layer height.

Sarah Buckland

Just printed the butterfly egg. Love it! But there was some filament that didn't stick well on the inside of the top of the egg. Does anyone know why? Did I print too fast? Thanks in advance.

Jazzy_Plz

the top is a bit of a bridge, would reocmmend checking those settings out

Mike Sprague

will there be solid versions of the other eggs, like the rose one?

Sarah Buckland

Does anyone know the trick to printing with dual or tri colored filament? It looks great when I print a dragon with it but when I do an egg I get stripes of different colors in random places.

Jazzy_Plz

Not likely, the Rose Egg was more or less for fun.

Mike Sprague

That's cool, just wondering...

Emily

You should do a baby Easter dragon too!

Jazzy_Plz

There is one already!

Jazzy_Plz

usually tri and duals like a straight filament path and a good extruder! Sometimes tho they just be like that

Emily

What the heck! Where at?? I haven’t seen a baby Easter

Emily

Thank you so much!! I hadn’t seen this

Byron Sterling

Your stripes are caused by the filament twisting going through your extruder. Direct drives are best to use with a short straight path from spool to extruder. The closer you are to the end of the spool the harder it is to try to tame.

Andrea DeJong

what size eggs would fit a majority of tadlings?

Jazzy_Plz

Tadlings are around the same size as a 50% baby

Revenant Raven

What size would these be for a regular full size dragon?

Drea Ami

So sizing down to 50% would fit ok?

Melissa

How small can these go, percent wise?

Jazzy_Plz

We test everything from 60-100%, but it's a fairly simple shape so I imagine it can go down a bit. Being that the main goal was thinner walls however, you may see gaps if you go too small.

Josh Lieberman

as somebody who prints dragon eggs for a scavenger hunt at music festivals, this is literally so hype

Jessica Brown

I have tested at 40% and 50% and it did well...but it's hard to find something to put in the egg that small.

Miri's Madness Mill

In case no one else has tried it, but people wanted to know: I'm SUPER easy fitting 100% tadlings inside of 60% eggs. I haven't tried scaling the eggs down further, but it looks like as low as 45% eggs should fit most (if not all) the 100% tadlings!

Jazzy_Plz

A tadling is around the size of a 50% baby drgon scale so that makes sense!

Becca_Artorium

I printed at 25% to use as eggs for hiding, and they turned out great!

Becca_Artorium

FYI, I printed these at regular Easter egg hunt-size (25%) and they turned out great!

Robert Merrell

What layer settings did you use for this size. I would like to do this for my students at school

Newfound3DPrints

Anyone have any advice for awful overhangs when doing the eggs? Tried my X1C, A1 and a1 mini but the bottom section of the bottom of the egg always comes out terrible due to overhang. Tried slowing for overhangs and also tried no cooling for the first few layers. Filament is calibrated and print beautifully otherwise

Becca_Artorium

FYI everyone, I have successfully printed 60% baby dragons and 50% eggs and they fit. :)

Lieselot De Waegeneer

I'm still trying to figure it out as well so if anyone has a x1c profile for eggs or has the secret to print them, please share :)

Mr. J

What do you mean by overhangs?

Kap10insano

I know it says baby dragons but will any dragon (without wings) fit if scaled to the egg size?

Mike Wardlow

So I'm trying to print a bunch of these eggs out at about 70-80% scale to take to shows and sell, does anyone know of any cool windowed gift boxes or gable style handled boxes that are out there that fit these eggs?

Judi

I printed the crystal egg, there is a small gap between the top and bottom. When put together.

Jazzy_Plz

its likely part might have lifted while printing a little!

CWP 3D

This is what im wondering as well!

CWP 3D

Its hard to get them to look great, there always seems to be a small section that you can tell was having trouble. but lower layer heights will help along with using inner/outer wall printing order. Or using adaptive layer height in that section that has the issue may help as well. You definitely need cooling though. But also running a temperature tower will help you determine if you are printing too hot to begin with, that can also effect overhangs.

Alisa Lytle

I'd love a separate top and bottom file so I can do transition prints that match with rainbow PLA. Please and thank you so much!

Austin Anderson

When I print the separate files the top half of the egg has a defect on the top of the inside what should I do

Misty

I have an 18-inch crystal dragon what size egg should I make for it?

Marti Reusch

The Hero that I needed. Thank you for saving me this trouble of trial and error

Jazzy_Plz

its based on scale. so if its a 70% baby, its a 70% egg, its 1:1

Jake ilovestuffforreal

OK so I finally made some eggs and this is my sizing recommendations for ADULT gemstone dragons. First off, I made one at 100 percent (huge) idk what that's for, but I can easily fit 2 if not 3, 25" long full size gemstone dragons in it. 80 percent size will hold one dragon, but it's extremely tight fit, and requires some neat folding to get it in there. I'VE LANDED WITH 85 PERCENT EGG TO BE THE CORRECT SIZE FOR A 100 PERCENT 25" ADULT GEMSTONE DRAGON

Spryguy

Any chance you can make the mystery egg smaller to match the other smaller eggs. when i try to scale it down to match to put a tadling in the walls are soo thin.

Geek and Artsy

does anyone know what size for different dragons would fit 60% eggs? they're so large but i still keep being juuuust unable to fit dragons in them, especially any with wings.

Kriscee

Just FYI, the 100% Crystal Dragon fits nicely in an 85% Dragon Scale Egg. I printed one of these eggs at 100% originally given the 1:1 recommendation (I thought this applied to all dragons but maybe just the baby dragons?) but it's far too big.

Kriscee

The 24 inch dragon.

Sierra Fain

I am printing the Mystery egg at scale size 70.22 size of the top and bottom together and once I put them together me and my husband can't get the egg apart

JustADuck33

are these eggs for full size adults or for full size babies?

PD Australia

If anyone else is looking through this for answers if they are having problems - I too was having issues with the top of the inside of the egg - as soon as I added some tree supports - the eggs all started printing beautifully.

PD Australia

You can split the egg to objects, then instead of the global tab - you will need to go to the object tab and change the order that the eggs print in - you will want to pull STL2 up to the top to be first in order, that way your gradient will switch nicely between the two eggs. There may be other ways, but this guaranteed it printed perfectly each time.

PD Australia

Once i added tree supports in - this solved the problem of the bottom of the egg looking terrible, and also ensured the top of the inside egg also printed nicely.
