In a government lab working on a new technology capable of transforming matter, Jake and Lisa were working late. The technology showed promise. Earlier that day, they had transformed lead to gold. They figured the irony of the standard alchemists problem made sense as first step. Given the groundbreaking nature of the discovery, the two researchers kept at it, working well past normal working hours. Lisa was making some adjustments to the machine, so was standing right in front of it. Jake had an idea and wanted to run an... off-books test. So he quickly entered a command into the computer and pushed the button. The machine fired up right in front of Lisa, and she dropped her instruments, screaming back at Jake to shut it off. But by now it was too late, the machine fired it’s transformation beam, striking Lisa in the chest. Her body changed and morphed, losing size at a remarkably quick pace. She kept screaming, but her screams changed in tone as her body changed. Soon, there was nothing left but a slice of pizza where she stood. Jake stood up and walked over to her, picking her up gently off the floor. He jumped and nearly dropped her when her voice came from the slice of pizza, screaming for his help, begging him to turn her back. He carried her back to his station and sat down. He looked at her and tilted his head, deciding to see just how complete the transformation was. Jake gingerly took a bite. Lisa screamed in pain and complained as he chewed and swallowed her. Jake ignored her complaints about the taste of her saliva and stomach acids. He turned to the computer and made a note: “the transformed food item is accurate to the natural food item in taste and texture.” Jake ate more of the transformed pizza while he worked, tuning out the complaints of his former lab mate. With no evidence of what happened to her, he could take all the credit.
