Performance Mixer 3.0B + Hyper FX Template Combo (Patreon)

Attached is Performance Mixer 3.0B and the Hyper FX Template combined into one template project for the Elektron Octatrack MK1/MK2.

This is the performance template combo I use when I perform. Performance Mixer 3.0B is a great all-around template with true DJ mixer effects and transitions, while the Hyper FX template is a distorted, glitchy, experimental rhythm generator. Techno, House, Electronica, and Drum and Bass all work incredibly well with these templates. I've also been told they're great for lo-fi and ambient. I personally stick to the genres mentioned, but I’d love to get more feedback for future development.If you are new and want to know more about each template, included are both instruction manuals and you can find the original posts with in-depth video tutorials linked below.

oh i love that ! i tried actually do something similar copying the bank data from one project to another. but then, when i was setting the pattern length to 16/16 it 64/64, some hyperFX scenes did not work. and this brings to my question: why many patterns on hyperFX template are 3/16 ?

That is how I get the FX to trigger, the patterns are different lengths for different scenes. Hyper FX is kinda complicated in that way.

thanks, i haven't downloaded this one yet, but then, how did you solve this for both templates to work ? edit: sorry i just read the post until the end. i see that you either use one or another.

There are managers for the 2 templates inside the combo. They aren’t merged into one template but into one project. So you can use the existing magnets. I wasn’t planning to add 1FF or 2FF templates but it’s not off the table

OK, last night I managed to load the Combo, which saved the day after that sad 1.40C firmware update! I guess you figured, correctly in my case, that some people wouldn't be using 64 effects setting full-on, all the time, so this combo seems to be more varied in FX, yet so much easier to manage... I've isolated the Octatrack from my setup just to test it out with some different templates (with an OP-Z on A/B and my guitar preamp on the C/D inputs), and I'm still having this clipping issue when over-dubbing guitar, any idea why?

hello mate, there is any video where you explain how to create the stutter effect ? or where you explain that technique you used with the flex tracks ? i am almost there to reproduce it, but when i set the flex machine to use LEN = time, the playback starts and stops and when i switch to the "effected" scenes it plays a fraction of what it's supposed to play. i get half effect and half silence... going crazy... 😅

ok, btw solved it 😄... basically the "playing" step on the flex track is set with a small delay. this avoids the steps to mess up with each other ? coz i think when exactly at the same time, the playing is stopping the rec and viceversa... something like that ? now i can finally create a new fx rack with that fx in it 😁

I've noticed when sampling into T5 on the Hyper banks that stretch fx do not record all the fx. Maybe I'm doing something wrong as I am very novice, maybe it's something to do with the way the stretch FX work? All other FX record in the looper as heard when played, but not the stretch FX.

The stretch FX are not included in the sampling, just the tracks 1-4

I'm struggling to shift back to the performance mixer on bank 1-8, no sound is coming out for some reason?

Hmmm, try reloading your parts? Also check to see that you haven't deleted sequence on the OT. This template is a bit experimental

I'd never thought about banks before in the context of your performance templates. Seeing above that the two templates are split up into two blocks of 8 banks each has me wondering about the implications of that. Is there a reason you decided to do it that way versus just using 1 bank each? How do you use the different banks?
