Than

k you, everyone, for the support over the years; I am forever grateful. 2025 introduced four new Performance Templates, including the Hyper FX template and the Hybrid 4X4 template. These two templates have been a total hit among hardware users, and I couldn't be happier about it.

2026 already has a new one on the horizon: Ultimate FX 4.0. It takes the effects from Hybrid 4X4 and applies the Drum/Melody bus workflow, separating the effects for both inputs to increase clarity and effectiveness. I've already started the process, and it's sounding great.

Another treat I have in store is a new magnetic overlay for the Hybrid 4X4 template. I was told I can get these printed after Buchla and Friends. Fingers crossed they can get done quickly because I want this for myself ASAP! Check out the "risers/drops" graphic at the end. The magnetic overlays are designed by Blaix of PDX Modbang.

Added Techno Performance Mixer V2 to the guide. This is a template designed similarly to the legacy Ultimate FX Template but simplified effects and workflow tools. Designed specifically for Techno production.

Attached is a downloadable PDF of the Octatrack comparison guide, as well as a link to view on Google sheets.

Badass. Thanks. Which template would you say I should start with... if I need all 4 separate inputs? I assume removing your neighbor tracks messes up the FX equally across all templates.

4 mono inputs would require you to change the SRC inputs on the THRU machine of each part so that it is A + B and C + D. Save the 4 parts and you are good to go on any template. Do not have two THRU machines receiving the same inputs.
