Royalty-Free Wavetables, Single Cycle Waveforms, Single-Cycle Chains, and Noise Bursts now includes 450 single-cycle chains for devices like the Elektron Octatrack MK1/MK2 and M8 Tracker.

The Ultimate Sampler Synthesis Pack by EZBOT

Royalty-Free Wavetables, Single Cycle Waveforms, Single-Cycle Chains, and Noise Bursts

This is the first, last, and only sample pack you need to turn any sampler into a powerful synthesizer. While built specifically for the Digitakt II, Tonverk, Octatrack MK1/MK2, and Analog Rytm, it works seamlessly with any sampler that can loop samples, play wavetable files, or chop audio to a quantized grid. I've also included every flavor and shape of noise bursts for constructing, resampling, and layering drums. With over 4,000 samples included, you can build virtually any oscillator shape imaginable. Keep it for life.

WHAT IS INCLUDED:

1,500 SINGLE-CYCLE WAVEFORMS

One-cycle oscillator WAVs for samplers and synthesizers that support single-cycle synthesis. These files are extremely short and should be played with forward looping enabled. Root and tuning information is stored in the filename, manifest, and WAV metadata.

Note on C5 Single Cycles: To overcome playback limitations on many samplers, C5 single cycles are resampled C3 cycles. They require no configuration changes and play back normally as C5s. For bass patches, or if your sampler handles pitch shifting well (like the Digitakt II), stick to C1 or C3 cycles for the best results.

900 SINGLE CYCLE CHAINS

Sampler-oriented wavetable chains for hardware that can divide a WAV into equal slices and loop one slice. Each slice contains the same number of complete, phase-continuous single cycles and is tuned to the root note shown in the filename. Standard packs contain 64 equal slices. These are different from 2048-sample Serum/Tonverk wavetables.

For use with devices like Octatrack MK1/MK2, Digitakt I/II, M8 Tracker, and Analog Rytm MK1/MK2 (as a wave scan).

1,000 WAVETABLES

Concatenated wavetable WAVs organized by starting waveform. Standard tables contain 64 frames with 2048 samples per frame. Filenames identify the starting waveform, destination waveform, morph type, frame count, processing, and frame size. Included are both 48k/32bit wavetables (Tonverk and other high quality wavetable players) and 44.1k/16 bit wavetables for the older boxes and VST's.

1,000 NOISE BURSTS

One-shot and texture samples covering white, pink, brown, blue, violet, grey, green, band-pass, metallic, formant, and digital noise. Packs include transient, pluck, puff, reverse, swell, and gated envelopes with varied lengths, tone, resonance, and saturation.

A note about synthesis: When playing complex waveforms at low, sub-bass pitches, the sound often feels strangely high-pitched, sometimes thin or even chord-like because your ears get tricked by the wave's upper harmonics. The actual low root note drops into a sub-frequency range that your ears (and smaller speakers) struggle to pick up, while the loud, harsh overtones contained in the complex shape remain right in the ear's most sensitive frequency range. Because your brain naturally anchors to the loudest audible frequencies, it ignores the quiet sub-bass and focuses on those bright upper harmonics instead, making a low C1 note sound like a buzzy, chord-like, high-pitched wave rather than a deep, heavy bass note. Great for Techno.

WHICH FILE SHOULD I USE?

Use a SINGLE CYCLE CHAINS when the sampler supports slicing and slice looping. Be sure to use the correct sample and bitrate.

Use a TRUE SINGLE CYCLE when the sampler supports single-cycle oscillator files (most modern samplers).

Use a WAVETABLE when the sampler supports concatenated fixed-frame wavetables or sample-chain scanning at 44.1k/16bit or 48k/32bit. Be sure to use the correct sample and bitrate.

Use a NOISE BURST as a one-shot percussion layer, transient, texture, effect, or loop source.

UNIVERSAL SAMPLER SETUP

1. Import the desired WAV file.

2. For pitched files, assign the root note shown in the filename (C1, C3, or C5).

3. Set transpose, tune, and fine tune to zero initially (should be by default).

4. Enable forward looping across the complete file for wavetable tuned grids and single cycles.

5. Disable time stretching, transient warping, and automatic tempo matching for clean oscillator playback.

6. Leave looping off for short noise transients. Longer noise textures may be looped, stretched, or sliced creatively.

USEFUL SETUP EXAMPLES:

DIGITAKT I (44k_16bit) / DIGITAKT II (44k_16bit and 48k_16bit)

Transfer the waveform and noise folders with Elektron Transfer, then assign a WAV to a sample track.

For single cycles, enable sample looping and use the complete file from start to end. Leave Tune and Fine Tune at zero initially. Choose the nearest C1, C3, or C5 root file to minimize transposition. Digitakt can use any of the octaves and get great playback (it repitches very well).

For single cycle chains, change machine to GRID or SLICE (for slice set slice grid to 64). Set to forward loop. Load the wavetable sampler loop as a sample chain and create a slice grid matching its frame count. Standard tables contain 64 frames so set your slice grid to 64. Set slice to 1 so the keyboard will playback chromatically.

Noise bursts can be used as drum layers, hats, attacks, transitions, and textures. Shape them with the sample envelope, filter, overdrive, and LFOs.

OCTATRACK (44k_16bit)

Copy the folders into the set's AUDIO folder and load WAV files into Flex or Static machines.

For single cycles, turn LOOP on, use normal forward playback, and disable time stretch. Choose the nearest root-note file and set the sample root accordingly.

For single cycle chains, turn loop on page 2 of the SRC menu, load the WAV as a sample chain and create a slice grid matching its frame count. Standard tables contain 64 frames. Select, sequence, or modulate slices to scan through the table.

Use short noise files as one-shots. Longer noise textures can be looped, sliced, stretched, processed through scenes, or used as modulation-ready sound beds.

ANALOG RYTM (44k_16bit and 48k_16bit)

Transfer the folders with Elektron Transfer and assign a WAV to a sample slot.

For single cycles, enable sample looping and use the complete file from start to end. Leave Tune and Fine Tune at zero initially. Choose the nearest C1, C3, or C5 root file to minimize transposition. Rytm can use any of the octaves and get great playback (it repatches very well).

Single cycle chains can be treated as wavetable samples and repitched like a typical one-shot synth sample. Set to cycle for a scan effect if desired.

Noise bursts are useful for layering with the analog engines. Keep LOP off for transient bursts and use the sample filter and envelope to shape brightness, length, and punch.

TONVERK (44k_16bit and 48k_16bit)

Copy the folders into USER/SAMPLES on the SD card.

For a single oscillator region, load the WAV in Single Player and enable looping.

For wavetables, load a WAV into the Wavetables machine. Tonverk assumes 2048-sample frames by default and recognizes the _wt<number> filename suffix. The standard 64-frame tables are designed for Tonverk's wavetable selection.

Noise bursts can be loaded in Single Player/Wavefinder/Grainer/Subtrack as percussion, attacks, effects, or looped textures.

M8 TRACKER (44k_16bit)

Copy the folders to the microSD card and load the desired WAV in a Sampler instrument.

For single cycles, use forward-loop playback across the complete file. Start with transpose and fine tune at zero, then choose the root file nearest to the desired register.

Single cycle chains may be explored as sample chains in the Sampler. Set sampler to forward loop, go into editor and use the process command to create 64 slices. For straightforward pitched oscillator duties, use the true single cycles.

Use noise bursts for drums, attacks, transitions, and textures. Longer files can be looped, pitched, sliced, and sequenced.

SERUM (44k_16bit and 48k_16bit)

Open an oscillator's wavetable editor and import or drag in a wavetable WAV. Standard files use 2048 samples per frame and 64 frames, producing a total length of 131072 samples.

Import the file as a wavetable rather than as a normal one-shot sample. Use a raw or fixed-frame import mode when available, then save the imported table to your user wavetable library.

Individual 2048-sample single-cycle files may also be dragged into Serum's wavetable editor as single frames.

VITAL AND OTHER SOFTWARE SYNTHS

Drag a wavetable WAV into the oscillator or wavetable editor and choose wavetable import. Set the frame size to 2048 and the frame count to 64 when requested, unless the filename specifies another value.

The same concatenated WAV files can be used by other compatible wavetable synthesizers, including Phase Plant, Pigments, and similar instruments that accept fixed-size WAV frames.

FILE INFORMATION

WAV loop and pitch metadata is included where appropriate. Filenames remain descriptive so the packs are still usable on hardware that ignores embedded metadata.
