On the table is the Elektron Digitakt, The Elektron Octatrack and the Roland JD-08 Boutique Synthesizer.

I wanted to try using the JD-08 as a multitimbral sound module and it did not disappoint. After digesting the manual for a few hours and tinkering around I feel like I actually know how to program sounds from scratch on the JD-08, which is a feat considering it has an incredibly complex sound design engine and it's not easy to navigate the congested boutique interface. Despite it's overcrowded front panel and short faders I rather like the JD-08 and  I do personally recommended it. Check out my little video!

Take it easy,

Roland JD-08 Multitimbral Performance Demonstration

In this video Matthew (aka EZBOT) shares a demonstration of the Roland JD-08's powerful multitimbral capabilities. On the table is the Elektron Digitakt, The Elektron Octatrack and the Roland JD-08 Boutique Synthesizer. With its retro workflow, evocative sounds, and powerful effects, the JD-800 was a favorite for top electronic music producers through the ’90s and beyond. Combining the original JD-800 waveforms with advanced modeling techniques, the JD-08 delivers the exquisite hands-on sound design of the original, along with hugely expanded polyphony, a two-part polyphonic sequencer, and other modern updates. Verrryyy nice transition there at 3:50. The JD-08 jam was much appreciated. How long does it typically take to arrange a track like this through midi externally on the DT?

I put this whole production together in about 2 hours I think? Started with a patch on the JD-08, found some chords I liked that fit with the patch and just filled in the blanks from there.
