Yes, I used pickup machines in this video. I know, I am insane. I keep trying to find more use cases for pickup machines and maybe what I need to do is use my second OT as a groove box, I don't know. Anyway, if you are thinking about getting a Softpop 2 you totally should cause they are a lot of fun and they sound great.

This video goes over most the features on the Softpop 2 if not all of them.

Take it easy,

Live Looping the Bastl Softpop 2 with the Elektron Octatrack MK2

In this video Matthew Piecora (aka EZBOT) uses the the Elektron Octatrack Mk2 to live loop the Bastl Softpop 2. Video also includes a tutorial on the Bastl Softpop 2. Softpop SP2 is a radical subtractive synth under the influence of unconventional digital control. It’s a rare beast that excels at both melody and noise in equal measure. SP2’s favorite sounds include bassline bangers, angelic chord progressions, distorted beats, and water droplets. Softpop also has an external input with enough gain and saturation to process any sound thru the filter and VCA. The heart of SP2 is an analog, modular synth replete with lush tones and a chaotic disposition. Its brain is a complex digital sequencer and quantizer that brings (some) order to the chaos. The analog heart and the digital brain support each other while also pushing their behaviors out of normal routines in surprising ways. I need to dive into pickup machines, haven't explored that part of the Octa at all.

They are a lot of fun but also a source of frustration, haha. A bit under developed imo
