This video idea came about while I was working with a student a few days ago, they wanted to learn the deeper side of the Elektron machines, mostly Digitakt/Digitone. I decided to share that lesson with everyone but edited for speed.

Love to get your feedback or hear your results with this method.

Best,

Matt

No problem, you can do this on the Octatrack too

What a cool option!

The final layering on 6, 7 and 8 was really pretty. What a cool idea!

ThomMorrow

That was awesome. Thank you. It generated some good ideas for my OT for live stuff

ezbot

Yeah turned out nice

ezbot

Right? I hope you try it out

ezbot

You’re welcome!

Well shoot, I can't get past the part where you hold down FUNC and Step Record--same problem whether I'm in Standard or Jump mode. The keyboard disappears as soon as I press FUNC, and then all I'm doing is muting/unmuting tracks. What could I be missing? I've rewatched your vid and read the manual...can't figure out what I'm missing.

FUNC + TRACK to lock in the keyboard first

This was great, opened up some new jam avenues for sure. I will say if you don't match the timbre of the oscillators well you can get some really jarring outliers ("I'm sure this subosc will go well with the holloramp... oof") Now brainstorming how to make this happen in the OT
