Thought a good place to start would be with some country guitar steel bends and volume swells. We’ll take a look at my simple, triad-based approach to these faux pedal-steel sounds. On-screen TAB included for the initial play through of the etude, and then a thorough guided breakdown of the concepts outlined. I intend to do many more teaching videos and will endeavour to make them better, tidier and more succinct each time. Please comment below with any questions, suggestions or editing advice! Also, if you could subscribe and share this channel with your guitar playing friends, it would be greatly appreciated. I really want to build a community of like-minded musicians here where we can get some interesting discussions going and really advance our playing together! https://www.instagram.com/alexfarranguitar If you’d like to support the work I do, feel free to buy me a coffee at this link; https://www.buymeacoffee.com/alexfarran #guitarlesson #countryguitar #telecaster #fender #musician #steelguitar #pedalsteel #guitartechniques #guitarteacher #guitarpractice #learning #tuition #guide #howto #music #blues #jazz #contentcreator #klon #countrylesson #stringbend #blues #jazz #guitar #guitarra #jimcampilongo #dukelevine #roybuchanan #buddyemmons #dannygatton #triads

Once again, you leave me speechless for 20 minutes…and with a lot of work to do 😂. I’ve never been into country music a lot, but this sounds so sweet. So much great techniques and ideas. Your swells sound so good.

Ah thanks buddy, I appreciate that 🙏🏻 Man, I love country music so much.. I plan to do much more of it round here too. The proper vintage stuff of course.. not the new country pop mess 😂

This! This is the lesson that first got me hooked to your YTZ channel. I've listened to the intro half dozen times, no guitar in hand. Such beauty. I am a bit fumbly with the volume nob on my Les Paul. But I've watched the likes of Derek Trucks use this technique to create pedal steel tone magic and am motivated to dedicate the time to get it more integral with my body-mind. So thanks for bringing this into mg world.

There are some of the Americana videos I have picked up reasonably quickly, but I must admit this one is more of a challenge. Like many things in life breaking it down into pieces, working on each one separately (the riff, the volume up, the vibrato, the volume off) then bringing then bringing them together helps. Its a technique I keep coming back to. One thing I have noticed is that with the amp reverb set reasonably high, when quickly turn down the guitar volume I still get so reverb tone that slowly fades off.....which sounds very natural and pleasing.

I found 2 live recordings of Danny Gatton on Apple Music that I did not know. "Take the A train", " Fried Pies". They are remarkably good.
