Appena ho fotografato Melissa per la prima volta ho capito subito che davanti non avevo una bellezza inerme.

Melissa graffiava, mordeva, ruggiva.

Aveva quella presenza quasi felina, da pantera, capace di attraversare ogni set caricandolo di urgenza, tensione, carattere e una forza visiva viva, pulsante. Anche quando l’immagine partiva più morbida o più classica, con lei restava sempre qualcosa sotto la superficie: una scintilla più istintiva, più tagliente.

From the very first time I photographed Melissa, I immediately understood that I was not looking at a passive kind of beauty.

Melissa scratched, bit, roared.

She had that almost feline presence, like a panther, capable of crossing every set and charging it with urgency, tension, character and a living, pulsing visual force. Even when the image started from something softer or more classic, with her there was always something beneath the surface: a more instinctive, sharper spark.

Buongiorno miei carissimi FANATICs!

Oggi arriva Melissa – Full Collection III, la raccolta completa del nostro terzo shooting insieme.

E riguardandola tutta intera, secondo me il punto non è soltanto la varietà dei set. Il punto è Melissa. Il modo in cui riesce a entrare in idee completamente diverse senza perdere mai quella sua energia nervosa, felina, tagliente, che ormai conoscete bene.

Dentro questa collection trovate quattro capitoli molto diversi tra loro.

Handle with Care, con il nastro CAUTION e quella tensione continua tra limite, corpo e sguardo. Hostile, più freddo, straniante, quasi claustrofobico, nato da un’idea minimale ma diventato subito molto più cinematografico. The Shadow Net, ruvido, grafico, costruito sulla rete, sulle ombre e su uno studio lasciato volutamente più vivo e meno patinato. E infine Pale Skin, Deep Green, dove Melissa torna a una bellezza più essenziale, diretta, incisiva, senza bisogno di troppi elementi intorno.

Quattro direzioni diverse, ma la stessa presenza a tenerle insieme.

Con Melissa, in questo terzo shooting, ho sentito ancora una volta una sinergia fortissima. Potevo proporle un’immagine più morbida, un concept più strano, una scena più fisica o un set più classico, e lei riusciva sempre a portarlo da qualche parte. Non si limitava a eseguire l’idea: la caricava, la sporcava, la rendeva più viva.

Ed è proprio per questo che questa Full Collection ha un valore particolare. Non raccoglie soltanto quattro set già pubblicati, ma un intero blocco di lavoro con una modella che ha sempre avuto qualcosa di difficile da contenere: una bellezza che non resta ferma, non si lascia solo contemplare, ma continua a mordere l’immagine anche quando il set sembra più semplice.

Good morning my dear FANATICs!

Today comes Melissa – Full Collection III, the complete collection from our third shooting together.

And looking at it as a whole, I think the point is not only the variety of the sets. The point is Melissa. The way she manages to enter completely different ideas without ever losing that nervous, feline, sharp energy that you already know so well.

Inside this collection, you will find four very different chapters.

Handle with Care, with the CAUTION tape and that constant tension between limit, body and gaze. Hostile, colder, stranger, almost claustrophobic, born from a minimal idea but immediately becoming much more cinematic. The Shadow Net, rough, graphic, built on the net, the shadows and a studio deliberately left more alive and less polished. And finally Pale Skin, Deep Green, where Melissa returns to a more essential, direct, incisive beauty, without needing too many elements around her.

Four different directions, but the same presence holding them together.

With Melissa, during this third shooting, I once again felt a very strong synergy. I could propose a softer image, a stranger concept, a more physical scene or a more classic set, and she would always manage to take it somewhere. She did not simply execute the idea: she charged it, dirtied it, made it more alive.

And that is exactly why this Full Collection has a particular value. It does not simply gather four already published sets, but an entire block of work with a model who has always had something difficult to contain: a beauty that does not stand still, that does not let itself be merely contemplated, but keeps biting into the image even when the set seems simpler.
