This time I kept the camera much closer to the reality of the shoot with Melyra: its real rhythm, the moments that would normally disappear in the edit, everything that happens while the photographs are actually taking shape.

The first video dedicated to this project had a softer, more constructed, almost cinematic feel. This new Cinematic Tuesday follows the shoot much more closely and preserves the spontaneity that only exists while the work is actually happening.

Watching it almost feels like standing just a few steps away from us, following the natural pace of the set as Melyra moves from one moment to the next without the edit constantly trying to reshape what happened.

It is probably the most direct look at this project so far, showing not only the finished images but part of what happens while those images are being created.

👉 The full video is available exclusively to FANATICs, for those who want to get even closer to the reality of this shoot. 🎥

Buongiorno miei carissimi FANATICs!

Good morning my dear FANATICs!

When I started editing this new video of Melyra, I realized pretty quickly that trying to make it resemble the previous one would have been a mistake.

With the first video I worked much more on atmosphere: slow motion, dissolves, softer transitions, a rhythm that turned the backstage material into something almost cinematic. This time the footage had a completely different nature, so I decided to respect it. I mainly used the horizontal fragments and kept them very close to the way they were originally recorded during the shoot, without constantly trying to clean them up or make them look more “perfect”.

That means the video still contains the ambient sounds, my comments while I am shooting, the directions I give Melyra, the pauses and even a few little spontaneous jokes that happened while we were working. These are usually exactly the things an edit tends to remove, but this time cutting them out would have meant losing the most interesting part.

Watching it back, I almost felt as if I were looking at a small documentary about our shoot. You can understand much better the rhythm of the way we work, how a pose is adjusted, how much can change between one frame and the next and, above all, the actual relationship that develops on set while I am photographing.

That is probably what I enjoy most about this video: it lets you see a part of my work that inevitably disappears from the final photographs. Those images show you the result; here you can see part of the journey that brought us there.

That is why I wanted to leave it this way, very honest and very close to what that day actually felt like.

If you are genuinely curious about how a shoot develops from the inside, I think this is one of the Melyra videos that will make you feel closest to being there on set with us. 🎥
