Manuela qui sembra quasi comparire dal bianco.

Le perle scendono sulle spalle e attraversano la figura come un ornamento cerimoniale, mentre quel piccolo drappo grigio accompagna pose lente, braccia sollevate e movimenti morbidi e controllati. Con così pochi elementi in scena, basta cambiare la posizione delle mani, inclinare il busto o spostare appena lo sguardo.

Dopo averla vista in set molto più sfrontati, mi piace particolarmente ritrovarla così: statuaria in alcune fotografie, più morbida e sinuosa in altre, sempre con quella sensualità che conosciamo bene ma questa volta tenuta dentro un’atmosfera quasi sospesa.

Sacred è uno di quei set nei quali secondo me Manuela va ammirata più che osservata; i piccoli cambiamenti della posa, dello sguardo e delle perle sulla pelle regalano vere e proprie emozioni a ogni scatto.

Manuela almost seems to emerge from the white here.

Pearls fall across her shoulders and trace her figure like a ceremonial ornament, while the small grey drape accompanies slow poses, raised arms and soft, controlled movements. With so few elements in the scene, simply changing the position of her hands, tilting her body or shifting her gaze is enough.

After seeing her in much bolder sets, I particularly enjoy finding her like this: statuesque in some photographs, softer and more sinuous in others, always with that sensuality we already know, but this time held within an almost suspended atmosphere.

Sacred is one of those sets where, to me, Manuela should be admired rather than simply observed; the smallest changes in pose, gaze and the pearls against her skin give each photograph its own emotion.

Buongiorno miei carissimi FANATICs!

Con Manuela venivamo da diversi set decisamente più sfacciati e, prima di iniziare questo, ci eravamo detti una cosa molto semplice: stavolta volevamo tornare un po’ “in carreggiata” e costruire qualcosa di essenziale, elegante e molto più controllato.

Abbiamo quindi lasciato praticamente tutto il lavoro a lei, alle pose e a quella struttura di perle. Fondo chiarissimo e pochissimi elementi. Manuela ha una capacità notevole di cambiare atteggiamento con movimenti minimi, e in questo caso la sua esperienza teatrale si è sentita parecchio: certe posizioni delle mani, il modo in cui allunga il collo o apre le braccia sembrano quasi appartenere a una piccola rappresentazione.

La cosa che mi diverte è che con lei il confine tra “sacro” e “profano” di solito dura pochissimo. 😏 Questa volta, invece, siamo rimasti sorprendentemente fedeli al primo registro per tutto il set.

Eppure le fotografie, almeno per me, conservano una sensualità fortissima, affidata soprattutto alla postura, ai movimenti lenti, alle perle che seguono le linee della figura e a quell’aria quasi solenne che Manuela riesce a mantenere anche nelle pose più fisiche.

Riguardando Sacred, sono contento soprattutto di questo cambio di passo. Dopo tanta energia più diretta, avevo voglia di fotografarla anche così, e lei ha capito perfettamente la parte.

Good morning my dear FANATICs!

Manuela and I had just come from several decidedly bolder sets and, before starting this one, we had agreed on something very simple: this time we wanted to get a little “back on track” and create something essential, elegant and much more controlled.

So we left almost everything to her, to the poses and to that structure of pearls. A very bright background and very few elements. Manuela has a remarkable ability to change her attitude through the smallest movements, and in this case her theatrical experience really showed: certain positions of her hands, the way she stretches her neck or opens her arms almost seem to belong to a small performance.

What amuses me is that with her the boundary between “sacred” and “profane” usually lasts very little. 😏 This time, however, we remained surprisingly faithful to the first register throughout the entire set.

And yet, at least to me, the photographs retain an incredibly strong sensuality, carried mainly by her posture, the slow movements, the pearls following the lines of her figure and that almost solemn air Manuela manages to maintain even in the more physical poses.

Looking back at Sacred, what I am happiest about is precisely this change of pace. After so much more direct energy, I wanted to photograph her this way too, and she understood the part perfectly.
