Grave Reacts: There's Nothing Out There (1990) First Time Watch!

In this video, my roommate and I will be reacting to our very first watch of "There's Nothing Out There" from 1990. This was a Patreon subscriber pick, and we had a fun low-budget time with this one. ABOUT: Three hot-to-trot couples and one goofy loner travel to an isolated country house for a weekend of debauchery, but soon realize they are not alone in the woods. One of them has seen this scenario before in dozens of horror movies, and he knows what it will take to defend themselves from an alien creature determined to eat the boys and mate with all the girls! This is what a 20th anniversary DVD should be! That one’s always been a guilty pleasure of mine ever since I saw it on Cinemax in the very early 90s. I know it’s not the best in the world, but I figured you might get a little kick out of it since it has sort of a proto Randy in it. Also, definitely enough boobs in it to keep your interest and besides, where else are you going to see someone swing from a boom mic with a little faux Indiana Jones music stinger? For a little bit of trivia; apparently the director’s parents put a mortgage on their house in order to help him raise the money for the film. And the lead stoner was played by Cy Voris who’s since done a bit of Hollywood writing (Bulletproof Monk, all 3 Kung Fu Pandas, and he was also one of the many screenwriters to submit a draft for Freddy vs. Jason)

Congrats Chaos this is a deeply hidden gem, I had never heard of this one at all but that was a fun little flick. I don't know if Williamson had seen this one, but I have heard he credits "Radish" from 1981's "Final Exam" for some of the inspiration for "Randy". I haven't actually seen "Final Exam" so I don't know how much inspiration vs imitation that there might have been. Also kind of gives me a thought, since this was a Troma film.... Colin should do a theme month for her sometime next year and cover the "greats" from Troma.. like "Mother's Day" 1980, "Class of Nuke 'Em High" 1986, "Surf Nazis Must Die" 1987, "Tromeo and Juliet" 1996, "Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead" 2006. And of course the movie that made Troma, the one and only movie epic enough to put Tromaville "Toxic Chemical Capital of the World." New Jersey on the map. "The Toxic Avenger" from 1984....

Thank you, this has always been kinda hit and miss with people I’ve shown/recommended it to. Not everyone is a fan of B-movies and even less are fans of B-movie horror. But this group also seems like the kind who’d enjoy Killer Klowns From Outer Space, which gives the best chance of enjoying a film like this. 😁 Oh man, a Troma-thon. If Colin (s/p?) who I assume is Grave, does that, I hope Roomie brings a strong stomach to the table…or couch in this case. I’ve seen most of those (Still can’t believe someone thought The Toxic Avenger should be turned into a Saturday morning cartoon), and they should NOT be watched on a full stomach…or if you’re having a movie snack. 😂 Especially not Poultrygeist. Still would be fun to see her reaction though…🤔😁

They have both said their real names in a couple of videos, I won't use them in YouTube comments (respect for personal privacy) but I here is all paid friendships so I figure if it's not OK I can edit it, if I'm asked too, and many less people will have seen it.... for her real name see the intro to the review of TCM.... As for strong stomachs he got her vomit bags after they reviewed my Emanuelle pick, and I think they showed them only once for Evil Dead (2013) not sure if they've had them handy other times tho.

Chaos Ken

I remember they have said them a few times, but I’ve gotten so used to calling them Grave and Roomie that when I hear their actual names it just goes right past me. 🤦🏻‍♂️ You’re right, I remember the Evil Dead review now….I’ve been amazingly out of it today. *smh* Well, at least they’re Troma ready. Lol

I'm not getting into the vomit bag range anytime soon with what I have planned out but eventually I do want to see them cover "Bone Tomahawk", "Gutterballs" & "Terrifier" those are gonna need to have it close at hand

Chaos Ken

Never saw Bone Tomahawk, BUT I have seen Gutterballs and both Terrifiers…..hoo boy! I know this is a horror movie channel, but Grave and Roomie…May The Force Be With You! 🫣

FoolMoon

Bone Tomahawk is a great movie it's 85% just a solid Kurt Russell western it's just when it gets to the violence it doesn't hold back at all. It's used so sparsely that it plays even more intense.
