Let’s gooooo!!! Been waiting all week to get back to some GOT and Taylor! I don’t know if you already have some of these playlists, but you were mentioning the collaborations and this YouTube link below if you go to their playlists, it has special guests from speak now and read and I think 57 different ones from 1989 world tour . Maybe some Tuesday hits or some Friday series of some top collaborations maybe? That would be fun. https://youtube.com/@taylorswifttourextras?si=Zb-5MkMYyMq3LF0R

Coney Island is definitely about Joe. There's lots of references. You're analysis of the song was actually pretty spot on. She forgot to say his name when she went up to accept an award one time.

2026-09-07 01:00 Ivy!!!! My favorite Taylor lesbian tragic love song

why is it specifically a lesbian love affair and not just an affair? I don't get that impression at all so curious from your perspective.

Carol Javens

From what I've read, this is based on Emily Dickinson and a love affair she had with a woman. However, once I found out that You're Losing Me was written so long before the breakup, I think the Emily D story is a filter that she is telling her own story about feeling desolate and lonely with Joe and her ongoing thoughts about Matty. And Taylor does do multiple layers of meaning so these and maybe other meanings.

And thank you so much for appreciating Dorothea!! I love that song so much, it's such a good vibe. This reminded me of your 1989 vault reaction, which was also so very satisfying to me, felt like you heard exactly what I heard.

Also your whole thing about how every song on this album is a condensed movie just blew me away. Telling a story, somehow making you see it in your mind, she does that a lot, in all her albums. But you're so right, this is that but more. As soon as you said it I knew you were right.

Linds K

I came her to say that 😄

About Ivy, you started out saying it's a perfect marriage, but the first thing we hear is her comparing herself to a widow. She doesn't "go to the (grave)stone" everyday because her partner is still alive, but she still feels like she's grieving him, like he's gone. She says that the faith is no longer there, and I wonder if Taylor was referencing these lyrics from a 2014 album by Lucinda Williams: "You do not know What wars are going on down there Where the spirit meets the bone." To me, this feels like direct continuation of Coney Island: they didn't celebrate and cherish each other - no centerfold, no arcade ring - and with every little disappointment it just got colder and colder as the sun went down. So now she's just sitting there in the dark, waiting for something, anything. Enter stage left, an incandescent glow, a fire, a goddamn blaze in the dark, evergreen.

Chelsea Bryson

Ivy lyrics are amazing - I still remember when I first heard “the old widow goes to the stone everyday - but I don’t I just sit here and wait, grieving for the living” and how she compared the death of her love to her living husband to the death of someone’s love happening in the physical realm is brilliant

Oh my gosh the Dorothea appreciation makes my heart so happy. The way you describe how the song makes you feel is exactly why I love it so much!!

Christy

It’s not a lesbian song! It’s her dreaming of a love that will give her what she puts in and grieving the fact the current relationship she’s in feels dead but she can’t seem to leave yet

Christy

Not true. I have a whole thesis on the song and some of the metaphors in the song actually tie into a William Wordsworth poem and some of his philosophies. We all know she loves WW. Even the picture she used for the lyric video looks like the pictures William Wordsworth used in his books and such. Exact same style and settings. I can share it but this app isn’t easy to do it on

Zoe

Does it really matter? Love is love

Christy

It matters that weirdo Gaylors keep accusing Taylor of being secretly gay, faking her relationship and having a relationship with her former friend Karlie who she’s not even friends with anymore after she screwed her over. They accuse Taylor’s dad of controlling her life. Having a secret conservatorship that allows him to arrange fake relationships with men. She’ll wear an outfit with a certain color and swear she’s flagging her “gayness” It’s all delusional and insane. Indulging in their preposterous theories emboldens them to keep it up even though she’s stated many times she’s straight, just an ally and asked people to stop accusing her of dating her friends way back like 10 years ago but they still persist

Brigid Blakemore

Bonus at the end could be watching the Haim Sisters perform No Body No Crime on the Eras Tour.

Alexandra Stacey

Bonus ideas: Tolerate it from eras tour (the staging was 👌🏻 ) & no body no crime w HAIM sisters at the eras tour

Susan

The National is Aaron’s band with his twin brother Bryce
