brah co

Please do not make us wait a week for 1 episode😭

Hugh Anderson

Just to remind you, there are 2 nokkers with forms from Fushi, the one from Kahaku and one from before this battle in the swamp

Sai

I liked Bon way before any hindsight. He was just a funny entertaining character with an interestingly awesome ability. Everyone is selfish for one reason or another and it's normal to be. The fact that Luke doesn't like Bon is what kept him alive for so long. You wanted him dead so badly just for his ability alone. AWFULLY SELFISH, LUKE!

smth positive_

A wise man once said “Let to your Eternity cook” 86 is seeming more likely now since the team of A1 pictures that did it wrapped up their other project nier automata after loads of delays due to the production collapsing several times so it might take some more time till we get news that a new season of 86 is in development That round thing is fushis original form when the cloaked man first created him I always thought non was an interesting and good character. A character can be good even if they don’t have the best intentions for the main characters or are a bit selfish. Everyone can be selfish sometimes, you don’t have to support all of his actions to think bon is a good character

Vicente Machuca

i liked bon since the moment he decided to sacrifice himself for his people in a way that also wouldn´t betray fushi, we can say a lot of him, not everything nice, but since then we could be sure that whatever he does is not because of selfishness but what he really does think is the best thing to do.

Some0neElse

nope... still dont like Bon. After all he hid important information from Fushi and this entire time he was expecting Fushi to do the hard work Also that orb that Fushi turned into was the orb form that the Black thing created in episode 1. Its basically his original form

Patrick Jacobsen

"Is the horse like Fushi? it can heal?" Luke, my guy, you're not beating the allegations right now.

ZeroShonen

I understand Luke's opinion about Bon, it's complicated to like sometimes, mostly because you don't have the exact reason why he does what he does, however, I've been watching anime my whole life, way more animes that I can even rememeber, and in this types of animes there is always something to keep in mind: 1- They are just assholes (less common) 2- They turn evil (little more common) 3- They don't care about the immediate result; they always think about the bigger picture, sometimes way bigger than we expect (usual) I really liked Bon before the sacrifice, yes it was stressful sometimes, especially at the beginning before Bon got his character development, but always remembered that at some point Bon was willing to give Fushi the information, but decided not to cuz Fushi was not ready. It will be like giving a stranger's child a toy before getting good grades and doing the chores. Would it work? Probably, but it's also most likely that they will get distracted and not do, or at least not in the best way, what they need to do, and Bon couldn't take that chance. After Fushi, Bon is probably the character who cares the most about other people (his whole kingdom loves him for that as well), but he has responsibilities, and he understands that now, that's why he needs to make hard choices. That's why Fushi, despite being angry at him, trusts him enough to say "Okay, I'll do my best" when Bon told him "I won't tell you yet, not until we finish this war"; he knows that there has to be a reason. "Mister Black" it's the hardest to like or anything, after all, he acts like a God (in a way, he kinda is if we consider everything he can do and created Fushi), so we have no way to understand the magnitude of the thoughts or plans, but yeah, we can say "Fuck him" cuz not a human after all LOL. But something is right, this war made Fushi evolve at god speed, not only powers, but character, and we can see that from time to time

Awsmspaceball

i barely remembered anything from this episode, so i genuinely didn't know where everything was going, and i gotta say, lots of shocking moments

It's because of times like this that many people have told you that you should take notes on some details from the anime you react to. Most of your questions have a simple answer if you remember details from previous episodes. The Nokkers took the form of Parona and Gugu in previous battles. Oniguma was taken during this battle by another Nokker. The Nokker that was in Kohaku's arm took the other forms. Most of the Bon Kingdom's troops left the city before the battle, taking a group of refugees with them. Pocoa went with them. Those who remained are defending strategic points like the barracks they mentioned. Some were also seen when the first balls containing Nokkers fell and Fushi began surrounding them with hot iron. There is no To Your Eternity novel, only a manga, and the battle is only a background for the plot's development. If you were only expecting a big action sequence, of course, it would seem so disappointing. I hope you create the new slot for Shangri-La Frontier! And as I mentioned before, if you're really going to react to DxD, try to do it with a BD rip and not the one seen on streaming services.

Sei

I don't act on hindsight! I just trust Bon because he had an arc dedicated for him.

Luke, just a thought about you opening a new patreon slot - Shangri-la Frontier already has 50 episodes in 2 season > I would suggest watching it in a 2 episode/ week slot - also, SLF doesn't bring much new on your anime exploration journey, if a gaming show interests you, there is an e-sports oriented Chinese animation,'King's Avatar'. It also has a live action version. - if it would be only 1 episode a week slot, it might be better for having there anime shows that are short, like max 25ish episodes Some suggestions: > Neon Genesis Evangelion 26eps, it's also a classic celebrating its 30th anniversary > Baccano! 13eps, story set in 1930s US > Samurai champloo 26eps, a unique fusion of old and new + great music by Nujabes > some suggestions with female heroine - Yona of the Dawn 24epsv+ 3 ovas, you already saw the 1st episode, you could finally finish the anime and you might be interested in continuing with manga, which Berserk mangaka was a fan of - Claymore 26eps, they made anime only ending, so another adept for manga reading, it has full female cast, serious tone and great OST - Black lagoon 24eps +5ovas, great English dub, action packed, it makes you laugh, cry, gives you great action and then punches you in the gut All these series have either some nudity or copyright issues on other platform, also there are many others that could be suggested Please consider picking smaller anime series and movies on Patreon

Anarchy

I understand it’s been a while but bro that horse fell off an entire cliff then it showed it heal and the guy in black said it was like him like yes bro it can heal

Anarchy

6:40 he’d probably just let fushi gain new forms naturally like he did before.

Anarchy

They uhh actually showed all of bons soldiers taking evacuees out of the country since the battle was gunna be super dangerous. Sister left as well

RavenMagus

wait, when did he watch the first episode of Yona of the dawn?

Arketh Adrcn

I definitely would prefer a second slot open for Shangri-la Frontier. It is a great show and I would love to have something to watch from you since I am not yet active in any of the series you are currently watching and I won’t be watching the horny near hentai garbage. I don’t care if it has plot.

There was a Shoujo/Josei sample stream in Jan 2024

You forgot Fushi's original form was an orb? What do you mean is this his eyeball 😄 Also, as one person said, different forms of Fushi were taken at different times by different nokkers. I mean week is a long period of time, for most animes I don't think there are Naruto flashbacks every week so you've gotta at least remember some key points or watch 4-5 episodes at once for the shows, that way you don't forget most of the plot over several weeks.

I mean, Bon really just didn't told Fushi about the ressurrection stuff because he didn't wanted him to go nuts by reviving everyone, after all death is a natural thing and should remain intact, Fushi has the power to destroy the Nokkers by "creating" inmortals, but when the nokkers are gone he would need to accept that people will die anyway, and not only that, but that he cannot play with life like that and will have to let his loved ones die eventually, that's what Bon meant when he said that he wanted to protect his humanity. And also Kahakku is just another victim here, yes he is kinda nuts (this comes from his bloodline) but he really does loves Fushi and tries to do everything to protect him, look how he even cut his arm, he declined a "gift" that has been pased down his bloodline because it was hurting Fushi, what To your eternity does is play and show different kind of emotions, Kahakku inconditional (and messed up) love, Bon feeling bad for "using" Fushi to try and help defeat the nokkers, March maternal love, Gugu's brothership, and of course sorrow for death, all those emotions make us human (good or bad) and they are all valid to exist, I think To your eternity depicts them perfectly. For an autistic person as myself, I think To your eternity validates the emotios you feel, like, hey, it's okay to be angry or sad, but you can't let that take away your humanity.

Hitomi Ochiai

Lol. You forgot Fushi lost some forms before this whole Renil arc.

Frentzy

Idk, i'm on luke's side. At its core the reason is selfish even if it's "good", So bon is a mixed character of good and bad. I like him a lot because he is truly a human. I like when a character ACTS like a human and pisses you off that they are not how they are supposed to be.

Exxyo

Exactly, Bon is selfish indeed, but that doesn't means he doesn't wants the best for Fushi, he is selfish FOR HIS LOVED ONES, which is pretty normal, but he really cares about a lot of people in the end, he knows who is under every helmet in his army, he is selfish for the greater good, now that doesn't means he has to be liked by everyone, of course when I was watching the anime I had mixed feeling about him, but as a character? He is so freaking good, and that makes me love him. Like Walter White, he is a piece of shit but the character is great thus I like it. Characters with great development are what I love, and Bon is one of them.

Kevin V

Yeah, I also think we should watch something else than Shangri La Frontier. I mean Luke just finished watching Solo Leveling last season and is watching Naruto Shippuden atm. Why bring another battle Shonen.

Arrxzon

wooo almost there, great reaction of a series keep it up luke.

Anarchy

Man of course he was expecting Fushi to do the hard work. Fushi himself wanted to do the hard work. What do you think Bon can just magically repair a wall or summon infinite materials?
