YES! Please watch it. You will not regret it.

Florian

It is a very niche anime, I really enjoyed it, but it is not everyone's cup of tea.

Marissa

Wolf's Rain has my absolute favorite soundtrack of any anime I have ever watched. It's not even my favorite anime (though I did enjoy it). Stray was sung by Steve Conte, who did a few others on the OST. The OSTs were composed by Yoko Kanno, who also did Cowboy Bebop's OST. Steve Conte did a song of Cowboy Bebop as well I believe. I would recommend watching. It's definitely unique but the animation aged well, the music is phenomenal. Yes, they are wolves with human disguises. And yes, these songs were written for the show.

Linikins

Well then. Been a hot minute since you last reacted to Yoko Kanno's music. Here's hoping for more in the future.

Austin Smith

i dont know where you do request at but you should check out yorushika algernon music video its really good.

Marcio Neves

Wow, such a classic. Out of nowhere? Very nice choice 😁

Marcio Neves

Wolf's are not symbolic. Just think a little and you will know what it is about. Look at that full moon 😁

flowww

Man I wish you would react to the whole series, I'd definitely rank it higher than Monster but both are amazing

cain0308

It's got multiple OVAs at the end that kind of wrap up a few things. Since it technically ends before that. Also the ending song Gravity, Mumei did a cover of it right before she graduated.

Explorian

Wow, more songs from the composer Yoko Kanno, cited as one of Sawano's major inspirations on wiki. You recently checked out another of her composition "Aquarion". Her songs were very popular during the 90s and 2000s. Highly recommend you to check out more of her songs (OPs & EDs): 1. (1996) Tenkuu no Escaflowne 2. (2002) RahXephon 3. (2008) Macross Frontier EDs

Jonathan Alessi

Watched this back when it originally aired and it still is one of the best. I would recommend giving it a watch.

Aleksi

As a Finn it would be pretty fun to see this man react to ginga nageboroshi gin or atleast its opening ending and some ost. I know Wolfs rain has nothing to do with it, but i got hope just maybe theres a chance.

iAmPimmiCue

It's been a while since I've watched it, but they're not Werewolves if that's what you're saying. They're just Wolves

Grapejuice

I Recommend kenichi the mightiest disciple openings its a prety funny martial arts anime it came out 2006

Explorian

Luke, it is also about your journey to experience more music, views isn't the the be-all and end-all; and if you only take the more recent popular titles, very soon you will box yourself into an echo chamber. If you explore the older titles, you will be able to attract the older audiences and widen your exposure. You can also be the one to introduce to the younger audience that the music they know doesn't just revolves around the more recent hyped up fast paced type of songs. They may be able to find music that heals them instead of just making their heart race. Music can break boundaries!

Marcio Neves

Just a variation of Lycanthropy that does not include the "half-human/hal-wolf" stage 🫡

Marcio Neves

Escaflowne opening is marvelous!

Luke, once a week on the Extra channel you should listen to op/ed/soundtracks from classic/old anime series 😎

Bagitarius

Yeah, I would like to see Luke’s reaction on this titles

Bagitarius

Please react also to Zetsuen no Tempest openings and endings.

German

Danmachi s4 ep 19-22 video is gone

Kraken310

One of my favorite anime of all time, just hearing the opening track brings me such nostalgia... I would highly recommend this anime, even if you don't watch it as a reaction series.

Zee

Please react to Wolf's Rain, one of my favourites! Haven't seen it in a while so I would love to do a rewatch with you

Jc

Mumei just released a cover of the ending song of this right before she graduated you should check it out.

rakka

I remember Wolf's Rain on tv back in the 2000s, it came out during that craze when wolves were everywhere (Twilight Princess, Ookami, Spice and Wolf, Twilight, Underworld, Teen Wolf etc).

Zen

Gotta check out iron blooded orphans openings raise your flag, lone survivor and rage of dust are bangers

Lu C

Thank you for this reaction, what many of your viewers want is to get you to know also the older series and not only the story but also the OPs/EDs/OSTs that are still solid and enjoyable and some you will like/love. You don't know if you like it till you try it ;) which also applies to many members in the community. Also you as a creator can show people many other aspects of music besides the ones the majority recommends also you can do still lists of top 10-100 or more but try also other creators lists, or a variation on the topic (top sports/ historical/ shoujo/ seinen / martial arts/ magical girls/ samurai/ cyberpunk....). It would be great to have on Extra a permanent slot for older anime songs reactions 💖💖💖 Oh, there are so many anime to recommend you the OPs and EDs. - please check this small list, as they are from different types of anime, artists and music styles: Seirei no Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit Kimi ni todoke Yona of the Dawn Paradise Kiss Lovely Complex Gunsllinger Girl Tetsuwan Birdy Decode Heroic Age Ayakashi: Janapese Classic Horror Basilisk Afro Samurai Azumanga daioh Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei Fafner Rahxephon Maria+Holic Terra E... Shingetsutan Tsukihime One Outs Golgo 13 Bokurano Baccano! The Twelve kingdoms Darker then Black Beck .hack//Sign Samurai 7 School Rumble Detroit Metal City Noir Witch Hunter Robin R.O.D. the TV / Read or Die Skip Beat! Fruits baskets 2001 Full Metal Panic! including Fumoffu Planetes Cromantie High School Ouran High School Host Club Jigoku Shoujo / Hell Girl Ghost in the Shell SAC Endings by Yoko Kanno and OSTs has also many great insert songs and so many many more

Kot Bajun

"Air TV" anime has a pretty good opening. Please look for an extended ~3 min visual/opening.

Kot Bajun

"Last Exile" as mentioned before also good.

Martin Boudrias

Wolf's Rain is one of my favorites. You should absolutely watch it, and when you do, you should watch it in English. One of the best dubs out there Other openings you should react to: Anohana Baccano! Kyousousgiga Katanagatari

KitKat_Moushi

I recommend Noblesse Spice and Wolf 2008 Seirei Gensouki S1 and 2

Charlotte

I absolutely loved this anime it was one of the first I watched

D. L. Pulver

Good choices. In particular Noir and Bokurano is amazing - one of my favorite OPs ever. (Good anime too). Witch Hunter Robin, Hell Girl, and Hack/Sign are great as well, though the latter's Ed is superior to the OD. I wish someone would react to Detroit Metal City the anime -- it's arguably the greatest anime comedy EVER (and from the director of Musashi, I think?) and perhaps the ONLY anime to look at death metal and similar genres.

D. L. Pulver

I'd suggest reacting to the original Bubblegum Crisis openings (not the sequels), which have the best 80s-style rock in anime. The best way to do that is to react to " Hurricane Live 2032", a music video compilation that was released with the series. Note: one bare breast, so be careful. BGC was unusual in hiring an actual rock musician for the lead role. The BGC / AD Police treatment of cybernetics was also one of the two or three primary inspiration for the Cyberpunk roleplaying game that later became Cyberpunk Edgerunners.

Ku Nilsen

This was my first ever anime! A friend of mine was a total wolf and horse lover, and she watched it, and I caught clips and episodes here and there from her. I couldn't even understand English that well(and still don't understand Japanese lol), and didn't really have any concept of 'anime' either. I have no idea how I watched the show and understood what was going on, but I did watch the whole series on my own, and I guess I was better at understanding English than I remember. Man... the nostalgia this gave me... Love this show so much, but it has been many years since I actually watched it.

D. L. Pulver

I think Wolf's Rain is one of those series where the excellent OP is actually better than the show itself! The show is good, but it s pacing is stretched out - it has about twice as many episodes as it needs for the content it delivered, and would have been amazing as a shorter series.

D. L. Pulver

Oh, right. This is a Yoko Kanno composed song. As perhaps anime's single greatest composer, you can't go wrong by just reacting to anything from her. (Macros Plus and Macros Frontier in particular...)

Rae

Wolf's Rain is such an underrated anime. It is definitely one of my all-time favorites. I didn't fully understand everything completely when I first watched it (I think I was around 13 or so when it first aired on Adult Swim), but I watched it recently, and it hit even harder than it did back then. I never would have guessed you'd get around to actually watching the opening and ending. This was such a nice surprise! I hope one day you are able to watch it. It's truly a gem.

Frentzy

Genres: Action, Adventure, Drama, Fantasy, Mystery

Frentzy

katanagatari is GIGA underrated. Insane fights and good animation but no one knows about it. Same for scissor seven (my friend shitted on scissor seven for 3 years, then he finally gave it a try and he finally found an anime he binged and skipped his JOB next day LMAO just to finish it, jackie chan style animation and scenes.)

Spencer

Last exile, Moribito guardian of the spirit, kekkaishi, and legend of the legendary hero's are some good choices.

Facio

I got a burst of OPs sprung from my mind as I listened to this. Last Exile OPs 1 & 2 Mushishi OPs 1 & 2 Rozen Maiden OPs 1 - 4 S-Cry-ed OP Burst Angel OP

Slipstream

Got to respect that list. But I think we shold add some more OP's & ED's. B Gata H Kei Burst Angel Mysterious Girlfriend X Non Non Biyori Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt Tsukuyomi: Moon Phase

Slipstream

Luke has resonated with the echo chamber for a very long time. The main issue is that Luke is a businessman, not an anime fan. He seeks to earn a greater return on his investments. Luke isn't seeking to share a deep seated passion with like minded people. He's not Mothers Basement or Gigguk. Luke simply wants to earn as much money as possible. Just like Nicholas Light and every other anime reactor that has a management agancy. Views make money, so youtubers chase views, just like dogs chase cars. A dog will wag it's tail at anybody who offers it attention.

Slipstream

Yeah, it's not my cup of tea. But I've known many others who loved it.

Nikkelz

Thursdays vod should be up in around 10 hours.

Toukbird

I’m actually in the same boat. I watched it as a teenager as well and didn’t fully understand it, but now that I am older, I feel like I should go back and watch it because I think I’ll appreciate it a lot more now.

Covthly

Nooo, Luke please put it back up

Paullen

Could you do when they cry?

Patrick Jacobsen

Wolf's Rain is one of my friends favorite Animé, but never got around to watch it myself. I think I need to change that.

Patrick Jacobsen

I would love it, if you reacted to Detroit Metal City - Satsugai.

WuXian Suibian

Less "main stream" Given ( one season multiple movies, great OP/EDs and insert songs) Vanitas no Carte Moriarty the Patriot FREE Yuri on Ice Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life Run with the Wind Stars Align Tsurune: Kazemai High School Kyudo Club Yona of the Dawn Blue Exorcist

TrySky

Luke you might be feeling like all the popular openings have already been reacted to but you aren’t 100% correct. A lot of Donghua (Chinese anime’s) are extremely popular but we don’t see it talked about as much since it’s very foreign. There’s also just anime’s that are popular in certain places and not to mention the semi popular ones you haven’t reacted to. Reply if you want a few recommendations for a video like no full song stuff just anime openings.

Nellyk

Openings to check out: Kimi ni todoke Barakamon Arakawa Under the Bridge Paradise Kiss Akuma no Riddle EF tales of Memories EF tale of Melodies Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom Xam'd Lost Memories Darker than Black Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei Maria+Holic Baccano! Wobbly

There are tons of openings you haven't reacted to yet, even something as popular as Anohana

MidasGold

You should listen to SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Uru - Binary Star, from the anime Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These

MidasGold

I highly recommend Wolf's Rain. It’s a beautifully animated anime with a haunting, emotional story about wolves searching for paradise in a dying world. The music by Yoko Kanno is stunning, and the themes of survival, identity, and hope are really powerful. It's a all time favourite for me and i think you'd really appreciate it!

Ichor Cell

Ain't no fuckin way this guy just said that the FREE, Yuri Ice and Blue Exorcist openings aren't popular. What are you on?

Ichor Cell

Backing up the guy recommending Chinese anime, I recommend Spare Me Great Lord. It's a donghua and I think the two openings are absolute bangers. It also fits the criteria of having very few people react to it.

Nellyk

Thanks for the link, it's not always easy to remember everything! I'll admit that I had completely forgotten Darker Than Black had already been reacted to, but I'm not sure what you mean by one third of my list when i could only see DTB listed on your list link. If you mean when he saw only like a smidge of many many OPs in like "top 100 anime ops" i don't really count them as he hasn't seen the op /heard the song to their respective anime opening lenght, which is why i listed them. :)

GonDon

They're actually wolves, but they are symbolic too. Great moody anime, was actually my first series.

Queen_Of_This_Ship

Wolf’s Rain was one of my first anime that I ever watched. Honestly, it’s such an underrated anime/manga and just seeing that you reacted to opening had me feeling all these emotions from when I watched it. Hauntingly beautiful story and I still get upset over it.
