Remember that Issei needs to be in the enemy territory to promote, he was able to just simply change to rook because they were in the enemy church, so if he is attacked on "home turf" he is much weaker

My understanding with this being on TV and the censorship of violence is essentially everyone is basically the same naked why should we be embarrassed about it but violence is bad according to everyone.

For Issei to promote he needs to be in enemy territory and be approved by his master (king). And other thing, the pieces he promotes to will aid as much as he is capable of. Is like driving a car without gasoline. If he promotes to bishop without having magic abilities it will be for nothing. This is where training comes into play and the power-ups he gets are very creative. The power system is introduced properly later on and it has a lot of layers, so this is as much as I can tell you. Also, "It's weird how I got used to the bazoongas". Yep, welcome to the club mate. A lot of us started for the sus but stayed for the plot (and also for the PLOT).

Remember he has to be in what rias considers enemy territory for issei to promote plus he'll just have the abilities of the other pieces not any of their techniques. For example, he could promote to knight and get more speed but he won't be as good with the sword as kiba

"Late night TV anime" has always been a thing in Japan, including on major networks like TV Tokyo with somewhat racier or more violent shows in the 10 AM to 4 PM time slots. It took off in the 90s. One of the first hits was Those WHo Hunt Elves, about an isekaied Japanese tank and its crew of misfitswho ended up going on a quest to retrieve magical tattoos from a bunch of elves, which required them to hunt down random elves and strip them to see if they had the tattoos. Not all late-night animes were kind of sus comedy/drama series -- other examples included the classic Berserk (with a dark fantasy sword-and-sorcery story with a mix of violence and occasional sex) and various serious dramas that sometimes had a touch of nudity. But shows like High School DxD became more common as more boundaries were pushed in the 2000s.

You should consider the angels and devils in this anime to be similar to angels and demons in Supernatural - both sides can be bad and good Also the pawn ability is essentially the same as in chess. Every pawn can become any other piece

No one eats a burger like that without getting any souce on their face? Luke my man. You are talking about an art. Top tier burger enjoyer can actually do that. You should just see our eating contests, when we order a so called "Crazy Memphis", which is a 6 patty burger with 4 layers of bread, A LOT of BBQ or "Memphis sauce", beacon and some other stuff. Eating those without getting souce on yourself (beside the hands) is pretty difficult. But we learned how to do it. 😤 To bad that's going to be a thing of the past for me, since i got my bypass surgery next week. No mor XXXL burgers for me. 😅

The thing is, you will get used to seeing it, as people have pointed out before. But it doesn't change what you are looking at. So you will still subconsciously get distracted here and there. That's just how humans work. We can ignore our instincts, but never get rid of them.

If we were playing chess and you told me to remove a piece from my field beforehand I would NOT pick a pawn. I'd remove the king. Can't lose the game if the piece that needs to be taken is not on the field. Ha! Checkmate!

Angels see devils as lesser beings. Something beneath them. So even though fallen angels are "evil" angels, they still share the same viewpoint towards devils. So that's why they are still enemies in general

Yeah these kinds of shows air on TV in late-night time slots, like the 2am kind of late night. You'll usually see a fair amount of added censorship in the version that airs on TV, unless it airs on ATX since they usually air them without the extra censorship there. Even then, what you're watching is likely the final version that you'd be able to find on the DVDs or Blurays rather than what aired on TV, which naturally would also have the censorship removed (as well as other touch-ups and polish).

It's a great show only S3 deviated from the book, yes a book/novel not a manga. So the auther had the studio changed for S4 which was actually more accurate to the art in the books but people weren't happy because anime fans

It is the weakest piece… both in terms of value and mobility. It can only move one tile at a time (excluding first move) in a fixed directions (cross), and its only worth 1 point. Practically every other pieces is worth more and have better mobility. Sure it can be promoted but thats conditional and hardly a big advantage for most high end matches.

If you choose to get rid of the king ( assuming you would not loose) then there is only one way to loose, which is loosing all other pieces. i would choose to loose the king in those circumstances

Crazy to think that on ep 1 Luke insisted he'd always be distracted by the boobs and there's something wrong with you if you don't find boobs distracting, and now just 4 episodes in he's getting annoyed by them and is kind of over the boob shots. xD
