Hello Luke, I’m here since January 26, 2023 and I love what you do, this day of discovery of the anime world with you is incredible. Quick question about tournaments, have you ever thought of making tournaments by theme? For example, a tournament with only sports, horror, humor anime etc. And even if I find very good that voting system to choose what to watch, I still think there is too much long-running anime for the moment. Honestly, I love Naruto and Jojo etc... but there are too many episodes. For example there are 30 seasons in Naruto, I find it a shame to leave on another long-term anime when he could have reactions for 30 anime of a season

The people who don't watch a particular anime because of semi-lewd content are made up of a very small number of tourists whose opinions do not matter in any way. They don't have the numbers to skew viewership, so the only harm their pecksniffery does is to themselves through denial of good entertainment, and to the unfortunate people who are mislead into thinking the tourists are numerous and therefore take seriously the idiotic missives they spew onto MAL or Reddit.

Welcome to official subtitles. Early seasons all got it wrong. But they get it right in the later seasons. Hence why the official anime yt channel is great for it. Muse Asia I think it's called.

I personally don't watch those types of shows anymore cuz I watched enough horny as a teenagerπŸ˜‚ The vocal minority is loud in every community, that's why polls are better for hearing the opinions of the silent majority.

I also find it a bit sad when shows like JoJo's win since I'm not super interested and it takes a slot for over a year, but hey, he does the content he wants and if I ain't interested, I just come back a few months later to catch up with the new stuff he reacted to.

Related to ”not paying attention to the subs": there are certain details you just can't get while watching for the first time, even if you pay "full attention". And that's fine. I am watching these episodes at least for the seventh or eighth time and I still discover new details and forshadowings. Plus, watching it together means to pay attention to the others as well, to enjoy the community and just have a fun time. If you don't like it, you don't need to watch these reactions, but let Luke make them however he wants.

Hardly. I hate shows with a prominent Ecchi tag, where it is basically the main selling point and everything else is just a vehicle upon which the lewdness is delivered. I think Food Wars is kinda fine, because the ecchi is not the focus and is there more for the sake of comedy. Similar to something like Tenchi Muyo GXP etc. It doesn't feel out of place. But shows like DxD, the ecchi seems to be the main point - it feels forced and out of place. I think Anilist tags can be referenced a lot of the time. For example, Food Wars tags have "Large Breasts" but as 40%. While High School DxD tags are "Nudity" 95% and "Large Breasts" 94%. If the focus is on the lewd/ecchi, it's most likely a trash show for gooners.

It's one of my favorite confort shows. To explain it a bit more: I have/had some issues like Erina (won't say more to avoid spoilers), so watching characters like Soma and the other's character development is like free therapy to me. :)) It's nice and encouraging. I watch it mainly when I don't have the energy to engage in a new story or new characters, but want something motivational. Plus, I like to learn about cooking too, so it's a bonus. (I'm a girl, just in case :))) idk if it matters, but still πŸ˜…)

Yes i seem to remember the last season not being the greatest. But it's just overall a very fun anime. And yes the battles really do draw you in. Having the dramatic music really adds to the tension too. It's weird that the threat of expulsion sort of loses its impact after a while since the main characters usually seem to make it (I havent wathced it since it aired so i don't remember who all gets booted). But the tension is still there as you dont want them to loose regardless.

The actual reason is because it was an incomplete dish. This is the first time we've seen Soma serve an experimental dish to someone before perfecting it. This does happen sporadically throughout the show as he continues to refine his skills.

Only the first two seasons are actually good if you look past some of the atrocious food they make. The show becomes ridiculous after season 2. I can easily watch past sus moments in any anime or watch a sus anime with some good plot lines, but I can't watch past stupid plot lines that are only possible in teenage fantasy. [I know it's shonen anime, but it is set in the real world. So something happens that is unrealistic in the real world, it just seems fantasy. And I am not talking about people having a foodgasm or their clothes getting ripped off. I am talking about the major plot line of Food Wars in later seasons.] Btw 90% of the sus anime are 100% fan service with no plot, so you can't blame anime watchers' reservations about sus anime. You only watch anime that are recommended to you, and only the better anime are recommended. It is highly unlikely that you will come across a sus anime with no plot unless you ask everyone to recommend something like that.

Season 3 has some fumbles (mostly in the first part of the central arc), but it's still great, and I'd say season 4 as a whole is fantastic. Season five is the only bad season...and it's mostly just due to being rushed.
