Rem is best waifu

I might be confused but did you not say you were going to watch both this and The Lord of Mysteries?

Dragweb

So, why the reupload ? the original video is still there on patreon and working fine ?

SouldeLuna

Thank you very much for fixing the Audio and re uploading the video.

SouldeLuna

Original had anime audio out of sync with the video

He does address LoM in the first minute. Takopi only has 6 episodes and ends next week therefore has priority right now but Luke works on getting caught up with LoM as soon as he can (he was gone the whole of last week)

Just a side comment here I am rewatching your reaction to Ascendance of a Bookworm, and let me just tell you Luke, what a pleasure it has been :) I love the show so much, and your reaction just made it better :'} Sorry for posting it here, did not know where else to post it, i just needed it to be said :)

Dragweb

true, thanks for your constructive answer

Sinbad_Deity

Just to let you know that this anime only has 6 episodes, so next week's episode will be the last. You don't have to suffer that long.

Sinbad_Deity

He might have to rewatch the first episode again before continuing the series

Marian's mother knows nothing about her daughter's life! She says she's not the real Marina just because she doesn't do everything she wants anymore.

This story kinda took the manga community by storm when in was being serialized online, from the global and especially the jp side of things. I believe that it too close to home with alot of audiences all over the world due to the subject matter at hand of parental abuse towards children. Especially with east asian countries and other nations where societal factor of mental health and mental care isn't as widely recognized as the west. Think alot of the issues being addressed in this story could be resolved with counseling, not just the kids but especially the parents. But the culture of keeping up a facade, a face inhibits adults to actually take the steps for mental care... Because of this factor, japanese society kinda allows the facilitation of abusive parents, not being able to break the chain. To the point that terms like "monster parents" are more than common.

Wait no way are you gonna ditch Apothecary diaries until you catch up to ALL 3 other series right?

Subaquatic Toaster

Everything you're feeling is pretty much exactly what you're meant to feel when watching this show. I have not had a single comfortable moment with this show since episode 1 when I had no idea what I was getting into and just thought, Oh happy octopus is gonna save this girl. Thanks for sticking with it, since its a hard watch

Kas samo

after watching these i kinda wanna get a takopi action figure

Lichmourne

You give people too much faith lol. Ive seen and have been friends with people who were close to being in similar situations. There are enough people in the world for some people to suffer situations like this.

Kevin V

It seems you had a good childhood, good for you! But what happens here is very real and happens every single day.

Sean

Ya I'm 100% with you on never hitting kids. I grew up in such a culture where this happened. People say things like "It's not abuse it's discipline"... like ok you're just playing word games at that point.

Markus Wallin

Trauma can sure be one of helluva drug. As in: It changes how you act if the trauma is deep enough. PTSD is literally your brain rewriting things chemically and forcing a memory into everyday life. If these kids have PTSD, I would not be all that surprised, of course, it should nopt trigger for everyone in the same way but still, it CAN happen.

Markus Wallin

I only watch animes that are... emotionally scarring, or about people who are emotionally scarred. And I place this anime in top 10 animes who are uncomfortable etc. I kinda think you jumped in the deep end.

Gökan Karakaya

Fighthing Luke, youre not crazy and we are feeling same emotions :)

15:00 It's cultural. Japanese people use honorific titles when addressing someone. They talk or refer to someone either by their last name or by their position. Using someone's first name is a sign of close familiarity. And, among family members, they can use the first name but they more often use the member's position in the family: father, mother, little brother, big brother, big sister...especially for parents and the eldest child, as a sign of respect. Hence the brother's comment. And about the parents. Takopi is a manga that exaggerates things (that's literally the meaning of the kanji man in the word man-ga). It's an exaggeration of a more subtle but true reality: most parents make mistakes, bad decisions, sometimes more serious than others. Most of the time, they think they're doing the right thing, or have good reasons for doing so, and don't realize the consequences. Shizuka's mother pays absolutely no attention to her daughter. It's almost total neglect. An exaggeration of a reality: many parents don't give their children as much attention as they need. All parental behaviors in Takopi are just exaggerations of behaviors commonly seen in real life, every single day. By normal parents, not "evil" parents.

Luke: has been hating on Takopi the entire time also Luke: ''why does this kid hate Takopi so much?''

Vicente Gómez

If I could reincarnate in any anime it would be in Takopi's so I could make a visit to every adult in the show

Anubis

Just want to say, your family is lucky to have you, Luke.
