the amount of times luke brought out the red flags for hayama but he has lost a total of 0 times. Now you know that hayama is immune to all red flags - his aura is so strong it overpowers them. And yes that flashback was horribly timed.

Nah i gotta disagree, instead of seeing the flashback as a random flashback i see it as the actual winner reveal. Before the flashback started they literally said "The winning dish however is something that represents the cook bla bla" and the flashback showed hayama perfecting his work especially to the point of calling it his specialty. It was a good way to reveal the winner and give context why he won out of those 3 equally delicious servings. The official reveal after the flashback honestly was just for people who didnt pick up on the fact that the flashback literally showed the previously mentioned winning aspect.

I actually disagree with most of Luke's Food Wars takes because it’s a cooking school. If the show focused mostly on Japanese dishes, it would feel far too basic. It’s also one of the most prestigious cooking schools in Japan, so it makes sense that most people wouldn’t know or be able to make many of the dishes. That level of difficulty is what makes the show more realistic.
