That starting portion was awesome

I can see why people would be disappointed. But after watching anime for 20 years. I think the animation is fine. Not on the level of S1 + S2 but still good. I enjoy it. Tbh the whiny people annoy me to no end and am glad Luke does not bitch and moan the whole time :).

Elle

best episode so far

mjaomjao2

I think a lot of haters that are still watching just hope that they are saving the budget for the final fight.

Sinbad_Deity

Nicholas Light said he's having fun ripping into the show, I said "if you're a true fan, you shouldn't be having fun hating on something you love, it should hurt you to criticise something you love". And he proceeded to block me, that says everything you need to know about that man.

Kenneth Landa

Really love your opinion. shows the difference between a boy who seeks attention and a fully mature man

Shadow 55

Luke, the whole point of season 2 was to introduce Garou and show how he masssively improves his fighting skills as he grows. Think of Saitama as the pinacle of all humanity. EVen that scientist guy says baldy has no limiter, but Garou is unique bc he grows exponentially as he fights and takes in skills from others. Look at how he fought like the dog guy in season 2 when fighting Silverfang. thats all you need to know

Barack O. Llama

luke is one of the only reactors that isn't a man child. i used to love nick but I've seen at least 5 times him going into comment sections of people who support the anime and just harassing them and their fans purely for liking it. who also tells his fans in all of his opm videos that harassing the creators of the anime is fine and that it's good to do.

Barack O. Llama

very good episode, and keep in mind everyone on twitter and all the haters are saying this is the worst episode yet.

A Guy

It’s fine if everyone here likes the show, but there’s nothing wrong with having a set standard you want achieved. the animation team clearly didn’t have enough time to deliver a quality project. There’s nothing wrong with acknowledging that.

Shadow 55

Luke JC Staff can make bangers and i can guarentee that. Railgun, food wars, seven spell blades, danmachi. Danmachi can make amazing anime. Look back at the minotaur fight and the Ryu vs Ottar fight in danmachi. Just fantastic stuff! Its just sad that the studio and animators did not get enough time to cook up a feast for OPM.

Roli D. Great

LOL! the disclaimer at the very beginning. Hilarious Luke! lol xD

MonographicSingleheaded

what I love about this series is how Garou who calls himself a monster is a god damn empath who fee;s for everybody while hero for fun Saitama kun is a literal psychopath who feels for no body. XD 10/10 writing. love this

MonographicSingleheaded

I loved this episode’s fights, with the exception of he cut at the end and every time a png of Garou flew by on the screen lol. also, at the beginning mondters just attacked with their pngs with a wierd cut as well. weird cuts everywhere but overall the est episode so far.

Iron_claw

Well, I'll say this so far. This is the best episode of the season but that isn't saying much. It's still not good. It's alright. The art Style is really good, very clean very nice, the animation, on the other hand in this episode still wasn't as good as any fight Animations in season 2 and definitely not as good as any fight animation in season 1. The animation in this episode was still subpar and well below average. Especially for an action anime, especially for the ONE PUNCH MAN ANIME. Everybody coping in the comment section, saying that this episode saved the season you guys are funny as hell I'm laughing my ass off.😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 You are coping Coping and seething You just can't accept what you're seeing Yes, you're coping Coping and seething The truth it is scalding And now you are malding And coping Coping so hard

Roli D. Great

You are totally right Luke. Good prediction. Bandai Namco put the lowest budget for OPM Season 3 and JC Staff was the one who raised its arm and say, "We will try to do OPM Season 3 with that budget". Thus making this still images moving slowly and repetition of little animation movement. So yeah, blame Bandai Namco for doing this. Bandai Namco should focus only on making games, and not Japanese Anime. They are butchering the anime adaptation from the manga source.

s4ean

This was a fun watch. It was not impressive animation.

karam jnah

i stopped watching after the first episode, because was so much better. sadly OPM anime is dead for me, but the manga keeps on living. i like the memes though

Kitsune

It’s easily the best and enjoyable episode this season so far. You're right about some scenes that were fully animated while others rely on stills, and the art style and quality shift because different animators handled different cuts. It’s clear they don’t have the resources to keep top talent across every scene. Some moments stood out thanks to great line art even with limited movement because the manga’s artwork heavily carried those scenes. I liked it because you can see the ambition and effort from the animators, you can see they're trying to create something for the fight scenes. If there's any awkward pacing, camera cuts, sound effects, OST inserts, overall inconsistencies, that falls on the production management and the director/s. They're the ones that can't hold the show together. Still watching it till the end. I just really hoped that they gave them more time and a better schedule to work on the anime.

Mirazatha

saitama has never seen a final boss because he IS the final boss

Frentzy

i have a question. Why did they accept. They could all refuse to do the show with low budget. If every studio says no then it won't get animated. That means we either do not get OPM s3 or... they are forced to do bigger budget @_@....

Frentzy

this episode was good. Almost on par with s2 quality (not yet there), buuut was enjoyable. 60-70% of episode I was locked in, rest I was taken out by weird animation. But this is better than ep 1-4 which was 20% only 💀. No joke this is 200% improvement.

Sakomi Arorim

I only seen 2 people react to One Punch Man, you and 1 other. and the other one was quite disappointed but decided to watch it all in a row when this season is complete instead of being annoyed for a week hoping the next episode is better animated also while I have not seen other reactions to this season, the way you describe it makes it kinda feel the same as the hate Sword Art Online Season 1 got when it was airing

Sakomi Arorim

Instead of seething & malding people are probably more so simply just disappointed that it is not meeting their expectations for example I heard about people seeing 4 still images of this episode early and were hyping this episode up for themselves, even though the art style has been great since episode 1 and it is just the animation that is lacking :/ but it is true that this episode was more animated than the previous 3 so that is at least a step towards being ok As for a Copium take I would like to see this anime improve the animation throughout this season but I doubt that is realistically possible also weirdly though as far as anime adaptations go this is not the worst we got this year which is kinda sad in a way

Iron_claw

I think maybe you got confused with who I was saying was seething coping and malding. I wasn't saying the people that are disappointed or unhappy with one punch man season an were the ones seething coping and malding. Because the people that are saying the current season of one punch man is bad are telling the truth and being honest. The people I was saying are seething coping and malding are the people that are saying the current season of one punch man is good or isn't that bad because they are in fact seething coping and malding they are lying to themselves to make themselves feel better instead of being honest and seeing the truth for what it is.

Obscuremango

They didn't really have a choice, bandai strong armed them. The producer also had it pushed on him, any other one they asked said no because they foresaw the mess it'll be in the time and budget they would be given. So both JC and the poor producer got strong armed into making this on a low budget and little time because bandai wanted the anime to be made and they can't say no

Obscuremango

Ye JC staff have made some of my favourite anime. It's the bandai that forced the short time and budget that caused the mess. The only blame should go to bandai but people don't know so are directing hate to the wrong people who don't deserve it.

Obscuremango

Ye the one person I watch who just covers what happens and his opinions on the episode chose not to cover this, he's still gonna watch it just isn't going to cover it as he knows the comments are just gonna be filled with hate towards the animators and team who aren't to blame

Obscuremango

I did expect them to use their limited time and budget for most of it to go to the more hype fights so glad to see the fights are better. Fudging bandai. People need to be aware that it isn't on the animators and their teams but on the bigger companies that gives them the budget and timeframe

Dovydas Pilka

but honestly how can they have low time when there is like at least 4 years between every season that is so weird

Frentzy

this episode was good. Almost on par with s2 quality (not yet there). For anyone who want more relevant info: Same studio who made s2 made s3. Bandai offered lower budget. Studios in japan can refuse a project but they are forced to accept cuz if they refuse they can be seen as "hard to collaborate with" + they need money to pay salaries. BIG budget or small budget, salaries still need to be paid. All in all 'technically' all studios can refuse a project in which case it never gets animated or because no studio accepts, they can bump the budget for OPM

StrykerEvol

What the heck was that intro !?! Love it! 😂😂

StrykerEvol

Yeah, agreed. The 6 months limit they had is ridiculous. And that's even including the pre- and post-production phases. So they virtually worked for 4-5 months on the actual animation. So I am glad that they even managed to get it up to this level.

Obscuremango

Ye, people don't understand or refuse to understand, the one person that I watch that just covers and talks about the episodes and his opinions choose not to cover it anymore due to him not wanting people to spread hate towards the animators in his comments. And knows it'll just be a bad thing. But ye I'm so glad they are saving the higher animation for stuff like this. That big shot of orochi was amazing, what a view

StrykerEvol

They only got the green light early this year, Pilka. They can't really work on something before even knowing that their studio gets the commission. The time between seasons doesn't matter in that regard. So it's like the others said. Bandai is the one to blame here.

Shane

I’ve had mixed feelings about this season, but I’m enjoying it for what it is. This episode I really enjoyed, and gives me hope that season 3 can continue putting out episodes as good as season 2.

Dj

Same 😂 New emojis/stickers of Luke's face for discord unlocked

Im not an expert as well, but I think it is common practice to assign or hire very good animators to do just a few of the scenes that would benefit most from good animation. Perhaps the issue with OPM S3 is the big disparity between the best and the worst and the ratio of good animation. There are studios who seem to take more pride and budget to put in good animation for most scenes. Its a common trend to downgrade the budget and animation for later seasons, generally because the audience gets smaller, and often the author loses steam and cannot keep up with the same standard of writing (often forced by editors to drag out the story due to initial success).

TheKnightwatchOfficial

I'm far more invested in Garou than Saitama at this point. Garou is my new One Punch Man. Also, you mention this a lot with Naruto Shippuden when the animation changes. Good animation versus battle worthy animation. That's really all I'm seeing in OPM in all seasons.

Stefan Jipa

You dont need to be respectful for Bandai Namco, especially in this case. Hate it's not for the studio, because it can do something well, it's towards the producer cause it thought we're a mass of stupid people that will consume anything it's thrown at us
