Heavy is the crown, heavier is being a hero!

Kanogawa_Hiro92

Wait, why watch it in fucking Japanese? That's kinda disappointing

InflatedNailClipper

One of my favorite shows this year. sadly it was a twitch reaction, but still enjoyed hopping in and watching regardless.

German4Media

Most people watched it in Japanese and the cast is stacked, so there's absolutely nothing wrong with that

Kyle Garrett

Chinese has heavy copyright online, so it had to be JP or EN for youtube.

xExelx

Because japanese is good as hell? Let him watch the way he wants

Kyle Garrett

It'd be horrible to live in the TBHX world. Like think about Luke. Just a friendly guy reacting to content online, but we all joke about the 'Luke Curse' and people he likes dying. In that world he'd actually gain that power and suddenly his friends and family would all start dying off because of his curse. He didn't pick the power, he didn't want the power, but just being popular and a joke existing gave him the power.

Kanogawa_Hiro92

What happened to everyone’s obsession with English dubs? English speakers used to argue about subs vs dubs all the time, but now suddenly everyone prefers Japanese over Chinese or English? Don't forget, Japanese is DUB Honestly, I think the Chinese dialogue is better than the Japanese one.

MonographicSingleheaded

2:30:00 wait if somebody was called the goat would they start Baaaa-ing eventually? lmao hahahahahahah

Marcio Neves

Just to comment that the person on the island that probably attacked Moon was already presented and named multiple times in those four episodes, but mods considered it spoiler so they deleted any comment that mention his name 😝

EnX_Reacts

Because japan has been pushing their Voice Actors lol, and for the most part they tend to convey emotion much better. English dubbing for most shows are simply just not good at all, and the chinese dubbing can seem monotonous at times if you're not used to the tone of their speaking. Japanese dubbing is usually the safer option and is better 9/10 times. For this show I really wouldn't mind either, its just a matter of preference since all options are pretty good.

Kas samo

has a good english dub

MonographicSingleheaded

I checked the rest of the season, I never watched beyond episode three. the four episodes were spectacular, I wont comment on the rest, but I will prolly drop this series. not my cup of tea. I wish they were less experimental narratively.

Nikkelz

We will remind you guys again that while its easy to point out things with hindsight not everyone catches details on their first viewing. Let Luke figure things out for himself he does not need to be told every detail. We're here to see his reaction not to tell him how to react.

Thanny

37:20 Hoping you ignored the terrible advice from your chat. The opening is LOADED with spoilers. I didn't dare watch it until I finished the season, and it was the right choice. Guess I'll find out in a few seconds.

Jessica

It really isnt tho? What are you talking about? It just vaugely shows characters from the show using different powers.

Frentzy

this is not a spoiler but talking about narrative, this show is not what it seems, after ep 1-4 , they change story and you see another character's backstory, it repeats this formula for up to another 9 heroes and it's mainly 2D animation... after that and the history of the narration is all over the place, sometimes you go a lot in the past, sometimes closer to present. It is non linear and it's more like a preview, this is more like an explanation of this universe than an actual series and season 2 should be like a normal 'anime' story wise, or at least that's how it's designed

Jessica

Nice and wreck (the friend from ep 2) are heavily suspected to have been more than friends. Chinese censorship makes it difficult to properly say it out loud. But wreck has a rainbow magnet on his fridge, and the eng dub translation makes it even more clear wreck was very jealous of moon and nice’s relationship. Along with other material that i wont spoil. The creator and main studio have found ways to dance around Chinese censorship and have gay couples (though they rely on english dub translations to make it more evident since again…Chinese censorship) so a lot of times they will label it as “roommates” or “best friends” in their other shows. This creator and studio specifically has really been trying to get past censorship. This is my long winded way of saying, they’re not just bros lol

Pfefferminza

Thats a thing i saw alot over the years. New ppl getting into Anime watching the eng dubs bc they can understand it. Than they start watching seasonal stuff and get to the point at not wanting to wait for 1-2 weeks longer bc it takes some time for the dub to be released. Then they watch sub and slowly start to like/dont mind the sub version. And then they get Sub prefer till they watch alot of anime and then get back to watching dub more

Pakom

she's beautiful. HEADSHOT

Bamboo

The first four episodes of this show reignited my excitement in the hero genre but I will say that the arcs late into the season fail to capture the same feeling which disappointed me. Still I believe that the first part about Lin Ling and nice should be seen and appreciated for what it’s worth. Thank you for the reaction.

Frentzy

First 4 episodes are the best in animation. After that we get this level of animation near the end of the show.

patros36

if showing characters is considered a spoiler than i guess....otherwise...what?

patros36

what do you mean?

Thanny

It shows characters that haven't appeared yet, which itself is a spoiler, and it shows a lot of what those characters can do. If you're one of those people who don't understand the nature of spoilers, that's fine, for you. But it's a fact that these are all major spoilers. My viewing experience would have spoiled by seeing those things before they occurred (that's why the term is what it is, after all), and it always annoys me when people advocate for others to be spoiled.

Frentzy

is this addressed to me? or you asking because you didn't watch the show or is related to OP's comment.

Kaiwen Weng

“LOADED with spoilers”, my guy, the opening is just a character slideshow, that’s what 90% of all anime opening does.

Frentzy

I agree with mods. I did not notice first time. Let him make the dots, seems more fair if you are the one feeling smart (a.k.a luke).

DRACO

Glad you're satisfied with you decision Luke! Make more of these Luke's pick! It's nice to see you enjoy and react to it. I was there Live and it cannot be more perfect to see!

Zero

It's deliberate though

Zero

Luke this is the best anime of 2025 the Chinese really did cook😆. The people who said ten on episode one watch shows in the background for sure.

Kaiwen Weng

I’m pretty sure the show itself encourages people to know who the characters are before even episode 1, all of the top 10 heros gets PV trailers months before the show gets released, add to the fact that each episode were advertise to be about certain characters alongside its release date. Not wanting to get spoiled is totally valid. But saying to others that it would ruin their experience when it’s supposed to be intended that way is kind of crazy.

Gareth Green

???? Showing characters that haven’t appeared yet is not a spoiler.

Raydough

It gets downhill from ep 7 onwards until it gets back on track again later in the end. Half of the season was a major step down.

Decayed Lulzul

Well damn. GG managed to get me to resub to the cheapest and best deal patreon out there.

Frentzy

you know why I can't be direct about that XD....

patros36

Knowing an appearance of a character is not a spoiler. You don't know the character, nor what they do or who they are. Otherwise each opening would "spoil" the first episode, cause now you know who the main character is. Doubly so for a series that literally showcases each character months before the series even aired. Not wanting to be spoiled is natural but first think about what a spoiler is, before commenting.

TrySky

so peak

Thanny

Showing characters before they appear in the story absolutely is a spoiler. It doesn't matter how much promotional material is created. It doesn't negate the fact that showing any information before it is revealed in the story is a spoiler. Trailers are spoilers, too. If you already know you're going to watch a show, then watching the trailer detracts from the viewing experience. It's weird that you're trying to lecture me about not knowing what a spoiler is, when you yourself clearly have no idea. Anything that detracts from the viewing of the show by revealing information before it arrives in the show is a spoiler, by definition.

Thanny

I should add, there's nothing remotely vague about what is shown about the abilities of X. If I had seen that before I saw the show, it would have significantly worsened the viewing of the show. If you don't understand why that is, that's on you.

davguev

What I don't get is... What happened to Moon at the end of the first episode? Was it a dream or what? And if it was, what was the point of showing that dream? EDIT: Ah, nevermind, Luke talks about it after the last episode ends.

Alex Alvord

"Next week" lol, one who finishes TBYX wont find out what really happened as well..

DRACO

44:48 aye thats me

DRACO

I think for TBHX streams is perfect for 7 streams in total. 1st Stream: Eps1-4 (1 Arc), 29th November 2025 at 20:30 BST 2nd: Eps 5-7 (1 Arc), 6 December 2025 at 20:30 BST 3rd: Eps 8-10 (1 Arc), 13 December 2025 at 20:30 BST 4th: Eps 11-14 (2 Arcs), 20 December 2025 at 20:30 BST 5th: Eps 15-19 (2 Arcs), 27 December 2025 at 20:30 BST 6th: Eps 20-22 (2 Arcs?), 3 January 2026 at 20:30 BST 7th: Eps 23-24 (2 Arcs), 10 January 2026 at 20:30 BST

Gareth Green

No, a spoiler is information you are not SUPPOSED to know. If it’s in the OP or promotional materials, the creators want you to know going in.

Kaiwen Weng

Literally everyone is telling you that there isn’t anything resembling spoilers in the OP, are you just going to argue against that by yourself without a good argument to convincing anyone else?

Thanny

That's wrong. It's in the name. It literally means something that spoils the viewing experience. It does not matter what choices the marketing department of a piece of media makes. What makes a spoiler is based on what ruins the viewing experience. The marketing people also put abominations like teasers at the end of episodes which spoil content of the next installment. These are all attempts to get people to start watching or continue watching, and have nothing whatsoever to do with information you're "SUPPOSED" to know.

Thanny

No, a handful of people who don't understand the concept of spoilers are tilting at the windmill of reality. I've already said that had I seen the opening, it would have spoiled a major part of the show for me. That makes it a spoiler by definition. I don't need to convince anyone of that reality.

Mike Sky

ep 20 is the end of an arc, it should be lumped with the previous batch of episodes, so 15-20, then he can do 21-24 in the last one, so 6 streams total instead of 7

patros36

Once again, knowing a cyan haired girl will at some point appear is not spoiler by definition as it not detracts from the viewing experience...as you said. And if it does to you, you should really think about yourself and how you consume media, because seeing every single piece of information as detracting from your experience must be exhausting.

DRACO

Well I was thinking about that too since eps 20 is a special one and the best one for that arc alone. But the thing is that's 6 eps long I don't know if Luke wants to do a bulk video/stream for 6 episodes.

Nikkelz

There won't be any 6 episode streams. Yami has already sent Luke the episode separation. We appreciate the hype ya'll have! should be a good ride~

Matthew Harms

Watching multiple episodes is good way to watch this anime. I watched this when each one aired. Loved it. Can't wait for season 2.

Marcio Neves

6 episodes per stream is quite exceptional for Luke to do. I would suggest the separation below: 2nd: 5-7 (1 arc) - 3 episodes 3rd: 8-12 (2 arc) - 5 episodes 4th: 13-16 (2 arcs) - 4 episodes 5th: 17-20 (1 arc + conclusion) - 4 episodes 6th: 21-24 (3 arcs) - 4 episodes In average, every stream would be of 4 episodes (including this first one, about Nice/Lin Ling), with exception of 2nd and 3rd ones, were one gave 1 episode to the other, to keep the arcs complete within each stream

Wil

This is such a treat! Thank you so much for trying out this show. It took over my mind for most of this year and is still ongoing. I've been watching your reaction, one episode a day, like dessert.

Nero Integrate

Really enjoyed it, looking forward to more. As for Moon, well... She dream died, fake died, was a fake sacrifice and now died. That's a bit much, I just laughed on that final scene, offing the same character for the 4th time kinda lessens the impact.

TheErisianMonk

33:45 Damn, I forgot what a clusterfk these stream reactions get like. Non sequitur jokes during exposition, technical issues, Luke ignoring the immensely interesting and important explaination on screen right now.... Man, I think I get to like streaming less and less as the years go by.

TheErisianMonk

35:40 Nice and Ms. J discussing Nice's suicide and how Lin Ling-Nice will have to deal with such a choice one day.....while the focus is a talk about elevator floors.....

TheErisianMonk

1:43:20 Chat trying so hard to throw ya a bone.....lolz

TheErisianMonk

I so very, very damn much wanna know what the actual fuckkkkkkk was up with that....premonition? Dream? Vision? Based on the relationship between Lin and us, the audience, there's no real reason to suspect that episode one ended with a nonsense shock moment. Lin Ling seeing Moon VERY dead, on her left side, with a hole very much in her temple..... "But, why?!?!?" Truly PEAK China+Japan brilliance. I wanna see an interview with the writer(s) of this donghua. Wtf is wonderfully wrong with them?!?

Liora

Pretty sure the first one was actually just a dream

Antivalentine

Just subscribed to a full year (thanks for being so affordable!!) just for this looool (I have more things im going to go back and watch, but this was the trigger)

Marcio Neves

I wonder if Luke is still on the dark of who was the person with Moon and Lin Ling, at the island. Because it was sopposed to be a shocking revelation, given producers intended for us to already know about those characters, from all the PVs released MONTHS before the show started

Dairenji

Luke...you've been watching anime for how long now? and you don't understand that studios will do assist work on anime all the time. The Credits (unless you actually can read the Japanese) won't do much in telling you the staff that worked on the series. So to be clear. No, Mappa didn't do more than help out with certain cuts in the animation process.

Bryan Ross

This show seems very China coded lmao, but it's well done even if it wears it's influence on its sleeve. Usually I don't like Chinese Anime, but I'm liking it so far.

Sei

Chat can only think of gacha games. I think Luke was talking about Dispatch it has close art style than what chat said

Aaren YASS

This show reminded me that chinese shows are not afraid of killing off characters or causing them serious harm. Even the mains.

Daniel iacomi

Why is it the anime windows so small??? I can barely see anything....
