Reze, just like Denji, was a girl who had only ever been used and ordered around by others, longing for nothing more than a normal, peaceful life. In the end, Denji was ready to throw away the life he had just to run away with her to the "countryside". And Reze, despite knowing about Makima and fully understanding the danger, still went back to the "city" to see him — making a “not smart” choice. It’s an achingly beautiful love story.

slight correction with how aki's lifespan decreased with angel: aki didnt choose to lose 2 months to protect himself, angels power drains lifespan when he touches someone and when it is fully drained they turn into a weapon (i think)

This movie I watched on the cinema and felt the same way it felt like I had a hole to my chest that would not be filled any way because we didn't get the classic catharsis that we get in most media and because of that emptiness I wanted to check the manga hopping it would fill that hole well long story short I have a bigger emtines now Luke is not ready.

My interpretation is that what also affects devils strength is how likely you're to suffer from the said devil's atribute. Sure bombs are very scary and more destructive than guns, BUT how likely is someone on the street to have a bomb with them, on the other hands in places like America or Brasil MANY people carry guns and there is a lot of gun violence.

I love Season 1 and the manga, but this movie ended up being just “good” for me. The new direction didn’t fully click, especially in the first 12 minutes. The sound effects and overreaction shots in the comedic scenes felt a bit off, and the simplified art style wasn’t quite my thing either. In some ways, Season 1 actually felt more like a movie than this one. With the changes, this movie feels a bit more like a typical anime, which takes away some of the uniqueness it used to have. The new style also reminded me a lot of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, the whole second half of the movie to be honest. On the positive side, the animation quality went through the roof. The skyscraper fight in particular is incredible, easily one of the most impressive action scenes I’ve ever seen. Fucking insane. I’m hoping Season 2 will bring back more of the feeling from Season 1, though I’m not sure how likely that is, considering the criticism Season 1 got in Japan and how well this movie seems to be received there.

The Angel Devil doesn't turn people into weapons. By touching them, he automatically saps away their life force and can use that to make weapons. So Aki literally just lost two months of his remaining life by touching Angels hand physically.

Important distinction: Reze is a hybrid like Denji, not the bomb devil itself, just like denji isnt the chainsaw devil. So you can assume her power is not the full power of the actual devil.

I think the fear thing has a lot to do with how much you fear that in your daily life. Like, if you go on the streets, you'll be more scared of finding someone with a gun than a bomb. So you fear guns more often than you fear bombs, I guess

One thing about devil's strength: in season 1, they mentioned that after the gun devil's rampage, governments around the world have actively tried to censor and hide news related to the gun devil to reduce its strength. My guess is that the same thing happened to the bomb devil, and that's how they even managed to beat it and take the bomb devil's heart to experiment with Reze. Therefore, some of the devil's strength may not be what we would expect, since controlling information can lower or increase certain devils strength.

I find it hilariious that demon slayer movies are 5 times more expensive, their budget is set by their investors (committee) and they see peanuts in return. First movie generated half a billion dollar and ufotable made 22 million dollars and movie cost like 15-17 mil. When we compare those numbers to $500 mil. That just show how fked up this is..... Luke says it all goes into the pocket of the studio but NAH.... 4-5% goes only to studio , rest goes to publisher who owns the IP. These guys are balling in money, spamming cheat codes left and right. Owning an IP is super powerful and is sad most studios do not own their IP and they make fractional pennies. I hope mappa will use those money to buy more IPs, pay staff better, take time to flesh out their next big hit. So far the animation is better than demon slayer infinity castle movie, which is INSANE to be said this, no clue which talent they got to do this but holy moly for $4 mil this is probably on par with fate heaven's feel animation level... I can't stop glazing XD....

When Denji and Reze sink into the bottom of the bay, and she just kind of like, nuzzles her head into him after they hit the bottom? Just breaks my fuckin’ heart. Like it’s such a beautifully bleak scene. She doesn’t know if she’s ever going to wake up again, so she takes the small bit of comfort she can in Denji’s closeness. Or at least, that’s how I interpret it.

About the power scailing (btw. I am also anime only, so there is no spoiler here): Yes, it is up to interpretation, but when devils die, it's "fear count" resets. They than only reborn as enough fear has gathered on people's minds, so it starts getting powerful again. In conclusion the strength might have more to do with how long has this devil survived/terrorised people and gathered strength than how much things are feared in general in our world. (Obs.: That also kinda means that they have no horror fictional characters in this universe, since a large amount of people fearing it, might bring him to life)

This has been the best movie that has came out ever for me. Everything was beautifully done, everything was so damn good. Reze has been my favorite and hasn't changed at all. I'm deep in the manga so I'll keep spoilers out. But in all honesty, NO ONE in this story will be as close to being the girl for Denji. The only one that was the one could perfectly relate and understand what Denji has gone through his life was Reze. The pool scene can be seen as two teenagers completely forgetting about their duties, completely forgetting their mission. It was just the two of them, alone, being young and free. And Reze can't do anything when she's wet, and she still went in the pool and stayed there with Denji. There's is a lot to the story left. All I can wholeheartedly say is, DISRESPECTFULLY, FUCK Makima. She's the biggest piece of shit.

No. It's accurate to the manga. The mangaka originally wanted reze to be without panties for the entire fight, but the publisher wouldn't allow it, at least that's one of the explanations I read online. But the mangaka never made an official statement about it. All I know for sure is that it was definitely not an animation error

I was expecting both Reze and Beam to die, it's really not usually a great sign if a character is first introduced in a movie, but at least Beam survived. I kind of get why Makima had to kill Reze, even if it was rough to watch. She was an unpredictable liability that did wipe out half a city. Even if she did decide to turn neutral or even join their side, that's a lot to look past. If she was potentially hostile, we already know she could kill Denji and probably most others any time she wants to. Plus on a more personal note, Reze compromised Makima's control over Denji. Him running away with her would have been a big problem. Also, on an unrelated note, the voice actress for Reze also plays Cha in Solo leveling

Reze was truly Denji's soulmate. She was the same as him, not a devil as we imagined mid-movie, just a kid pushed into a terrible fate by other people. Like Denji, probably even worse. She also had a great chemistry with him, she liked how silly he was, she was perfect for him. I don't know the rest of the story but I'm kind of mad she died, she was my favorite character of the show. As opposed to her, Makima is colder than ice. She doesn't show her feelings so I won't say she has to be evil but honestly it's obvious she's using Denji. And even if she isn't, I doubt she'd ever be as compatible with Denji as Reze was.

I don't think another female character will ever be like that with Denji again, at the very least not Makima. What a great character Reze was, but killed so quickly.

i love how no reactors noticed that makima was swaying her cup to the rhythm to reze singing her Russian song showing that she was listening the whole time that's why she knew reze asked denji the mouse question and answered it when she showed up.

I'm not sure if anything else happens in the Manga since I haven't read it (yet) but something that really just hurts to think about is that Denji doesn't know. He doesn't know that Reze actually had feelings for him and came back to run away with him. From his point of view it was all lies and she's just gone.

I love how, when Denji shows up riding on Beam, Reze just can’t help herself from laughing at his ridiculousness, like, she’s charmed that this mfer is riding a devil shark into battle against her. But then she has to lock in to the mission and follows it up with a threat.
