Luke finally gets to see the Requim arrow power. Alot of people think all the arrows do the same thing but the one Kira stuck himself with effected the user while this one effected the stand.

And yes you need to just keep watching the opening for the rest of this part, on the final episode make sure you watch the ending as well in the last episode, the ending has as stated before had changes as this final part has been airing, but it is not opening levels of change, but worth checking out, I will make a post regarding what on the last episode regardless if you miss it.

So, you need to take in mind that what was revealed about the arrow in part 4 is still in effect, the arrow has a mind, or rather a will, it will often be drawn towards people/animals who have a potential, but a person does not always have said potential, it can change.

So what happened to Kira ? Well, due to the extreme sense of stress and despair he was in at the time, the arrow literally reacted to it and pierced him again, not his stand, it pierced him, which ended up granting him a new ability.

And what happens if you are not in a state where you could even develop a stand ? You die, the virus on the arrow seems to basically cause a severe shock to the body in a way that can force something sleeping inside into waking up and shock can kill you, it does not give you the stand, it just brings out what was already there, sleeping, this is what part 4 and part 5 has currently explained so none of this is new information but it helps getting a refresher at times.

It has always been my headcannon that Bites the Dust was basically Killer Queen Requiem. When it eventually goes into his head, we see it pierce Killer Queen's head as well. That arrow, for whatever reason, chose the serial killer.

I would rather call it a proto requiem situation, rather then a true one, Araki probably just took the idea from part 4 and evolved it really but currently it pierced Kira first so I personally cannot call it one, and Araki has never said anything about it so, nothing we can really do about it really besides headcanon so eh, it is what it is.

As for picking Kira, arrow gonna arrow, I bet you could drop it towards your hand and it would actively avoid hitting you somehow if it was not drawn to you, while Polpo just forced it on people via his automatic stand.

yeah Jotaru might even be able to reverse time with it too but then again each part has different protagonist and if that happen and Jotaru appear in this one the one that will ultimately defeat the main villain again is Jotaru

No official confirmation from Araki, he just said the beetle shape made it show the importance. The fanbase itself has made itself known as the reqium arrow since none of the others have a important role or unique design. There are other things that are speculation like the other arrow chose who to hit but no way Araki would ever confirm things like that. He let rumors of important characters in part 7 and 8 go without an answer for years before just brushing off the questions.

my thoughts were, Kira kinda absorbed the arrow, allowing him to jump though time and reset it to his whim using bites the dust
