Rem is best waifu

Yeah it is an interesting story about how trying to change Fate might turn out worse in the end. Instead of just Bruno dying it had Abbacchio and Narancia premonition to die as well bc Mista changed Fate.

MoodyBlue

But in some ways, it also turned things for the better at the same time. It was only by walking this (bittersweet) path that led to them defeating Diavolo, ridding the world of his evil once and for all. ..And like Bruno said in the last episode "Fate is a sleeping slave. And we've set that slave free. That's what our victory is"

Jacowab

the whole part is about fighting against fate, Diavolos stand allowed him to hide from the consequences of fate and as his eternal punishment he will never arrive at a truth. Buchiratti was fated to die but instead of hiding or running he took it head on, their journey should have ended when Buchiratti died in Venice and Abbacchio and Narancia would still be alive if it did, but he fought against fate and got them killed so that he could set things right. the point of the sleeping slaves arc is to point out that most people would avoid the suffering and try to find a positive spin but those who are willing to go down the hard path can even change fate for better or worse.

Recall

The "random" story at the end is to cement that in jojo's fate is something you can't escape from. It wasn't that the stand itself was against them but instead it just shows you that these people will die and it wanted to give them death without suffering

Fruit

In Jojo's, the fate always was an important theme.

Lord Nawias

Now that you're finished, the reason Fugo never returns is, Araki's original plan was to have Fugo be a traitor to the group and return in Rome as their final confrontation before Diavolo, but because Araki was suffering from a heavy depression during writing of this part (hence this part being a lot more gruesome) he couldn't bring himself to finish that story arc, so he replaced Fugo with Chocolata and Secco. As a form of remedy, later on there was a novel released, not written but approved by Araki, Purple Haze Feedback, which takes place after Part 5 and deals with Fugo trying to attone for leaving the group

Fruit

I'm so excited about the next part, that's my other favorite beside this. I think the writing is even better than part 5 but part 5 was better at the fights

Barack O. Llama

NOOOO the best part is over but the ending of part 6, while short, is definitely the best jojos has to offer

Barack O. Llama

these 2 episodes are so randomly placed but I love them so much. 2 of my favourites

shiro kun

Part 5 is so peak but im already excited for part 6 ❤️❤️❤️ yaaaaay ❤️❤️❤️

shiro kun

They all have their highs and lows but i definitely think part 6 has some special moments to offer 🥰❤️🐌

Barack O. Llama

come on luke surely you didn't miss the point of the flashback right? the flashback is randomly placed yes but you entirely missed that by destroying the rock and delaying bucciarati's death it killed abbacchio and narancia. so by saving bucciarati right there, mista caused the events of part 5 to occur and therefore defeated the boss while killing all 3 of the main dudes

Magic Fibre

I'm excited to see you react to part 6! Its quality definitely fluctuates a lot, especially compared to how consistently good part 5 is, but part 6's peaks exceed anything in parts 1-5 Also, the dude's stand is actually called Rolling Stones

Barack O. Llama

also, this is not a spoiler at all. but in part 6 some stuff about fate makes the rock make more sense too

DecoyBlackMage

Stand name: Rolling Stones, based on well, The Rolling Stones from 1962 and up. As for the ability, well, fully automatic and essentially is mainly out to give someone a peaceful death instead of a horrible one, it actively manipulates fate itself, this is why Bucciarati did not die when the boss should have killed him horribly, Mista literally altered his fate via Rolling Stones without knowing so and in the end, ended up causing the literal ripple that ended in a far greater evil falling down into eternal torment, that said altering fate has a lot of risks, and two more people ended up dying due to it.

DecoyBlackMage

Similar to Dante's Divine comedy actually, hell is not a place that is ruled after all. And the user ? Literally designed as Jesus Christ, Mista even gives him a free stigmata ! Mista literally tortures him as well hah.

Joe

That random short story was more about the themes and the inescapability of fate, but the meaning of the struggle, I'm sure somebody else will explain it much better but its more summing up the themes of this part but I defintiely agree it does take you out of it as it feels weirdly paced. I sort of enjoyed the bittersweet look into the past one more time.

DecoyBlackMage

As an addition, part 5 has a lot of christian mythology, we have Jesus (( Giorno )), the son of God (( Dio )), and the Devil (( Diavolo )), Fugo was meant to be the traitor (( Judas )), but it is not as simple as that, Fugo was still their friend/family in many ways and that would not have changed probably, he just would have sided with the boss, and it makes logical sense since the gang was literally all he had, his actual home and reason to live, so it would have been an extremely painful and depressing betrayal. But in the end this never happened for very good reasons as you mentioned, Judas has in most fiction and even the bible really indicates that yeah, he betrayed them but he also suffered for it, we also have the Judas gospel that indicates that so yeah, that just never ended up in the mish mash that is the current bible, but that applies to a ton so.

DrA

Number 5 is the 4th bullet btw. Which makes 4 Mista's lucky number given how lucky he is.

DecoyBlackMage

But I will make a correction, Araki has never said Cioccolata and Secco replaced Fugo, that is fandom belief, one that a lot of people do believe but nothing official.

DecoyBlackMage

And yes, Rolling Stones, has been alluded to in the first opening and in the second part ending from the get go, it just did not show Bucciarati on the surface until the final version. Also the final ending has multiple versions changing and not just adding stands as the part continues, but even has more then one color variation that most people will never notice. And hey lets add another one: The first opening to part 5, literally shows every character that will die during the part on the right and the ones who will live on the left in the final seconds.

Sai

We did it! Part 6 time! All parts of JoJo are best parts.

Exxyo

While I think part 5 is a really good part, I can't make it my favourite part, why? Because it's like Indiana Jones at the Lost Ark, it's completly irrelevant for the most part, I think you'll understand what I say when you watch part 6. From 1 to 6 is about the Joestars themselves and their fight against Dio except for part 2 and 5, but yet part 2 still feels connected from 1 to 3 because the protagonist is Joseph. But with Giorno, he is Dio's/Jonathan's son, but this part feels irrelevant because "nothing happens". It feels like a side quest (a really good one though) for me. It brings almost nothing to the table other than how stands work and Polnareff becoming a Turtle. Regardess, it's still a really good part, but for me part 6 is the top because it's the ending to JoJo's as we know it as Steel Ball Run wasn't supposed to follow (and it doesn't) the same universe.

Lazy Lenni

I think the appearance of the Rolling Stones Stand makes more sense, when you realize how much Araki loves the concept of fate: Like, this even goes back to the first Part, where Zeppeli learns of his fate to die while helping Jonathan. Think about this: The whole concept of the Joestar bloodline being FATED to fight Dio. The fact that Stand Users are drawn to each other. It's all over the manga.

Lazy Lenni

Oh, I was thinking he looked similar to Jesus, but the symbolism with his injuries was initially lost on me. Great catch though!

Lazy Lenni

To "cement"? Nice wordplay XD

MK Gamer

part 6 is at the same level of part 5, they are the best, and after them is part 2, prime joseph was so cool

Touhou RS

Part 4 felt like the biggest filler part for me, more-so than part 5.

bryanPSX

Luke, Bucciarati's destiny foretold by the rock was for him to die ALONE, only him, but by destroying the rock, the fate was altered and that's why Abaccio and Narancia died

ReyZiegler

Same. I loved Part 5 way more than Part 4, and felt it had much stronger writing and consistent themes in it. Part 4 was just wacky hijinks most of the time.

IAintSubbin

It was about the concept of fate and showcasing their fate, by trying to stop it they made it worse cause via butterfly effect the future changed from Bucciarattis death to Buciarratti, Abacchio AND Narancia. But it shows that the meaning and what purpose they had was far greater so they suffered a worse fate but they accomplished something that makes it meaningful.

bryanPSX

but LUKE, Koichi's mission was just to verify if Giorno was evil like DIO, did you not see the episode when Koichi called Jotaro and said that it was alright and there was no danger with Giorno?, is your self memory erasing stand at work again?

IAintSubbin

Part 6 is easily the best to me i cant wait for your reactions you will be blown away in no time

Honky

My favorite moment in part 5 is Narancia dying believing that Giorno was giving Mista head on that bench

David Bartusek

And the fact that this was Part 5 and Season 4 makes it more great

Nate Ming

I'm from Ye Olden Dayes of outside-of-Japan JoJo's fandom, so I'm always just blown away that we have as much as we do now It's so awesome that we're right here at the doorstep of Stone Ocean and that you're having such a good time, I love JoJo so much and I hope there's plenty of new-to-JoJo people watching these reactions as well

Valts

If you recall from the previous episode, Bucciarati left the Leaky Eye Luca investigation to Fumo while he went after Mista. The Rolling Stone prophesied him dying (probably a similar death to when boss first impaled him, only this time without Giorno being there to revive him). But Mista changed his fate by falling onto Fumo's car. With Fumo injured and his car wrecked, Bucciarati went to deal with Leaky Eye Luca himself. If Mista hadn't fallen onto Fumo's car, it would be Fumo who would meet Giorno, and obviously they wouldn't form a friendship (even showcased by how Fumo was the only one who didn't betray the boss at the boat scene). So, Mista DID change the prophecy - he made Bucciarati meet Giorno and Giorno "saved" Bucciarati, but now instead of Bucciarati dying alone, Narancia and Abbacchio died too. This story was meant to showcase Giorno's importance and also to rhetorically question if this was the better outcome.

Christopher Wells

I do like the themes of the flashback plus scolippi's speech at the end served as nice parting words for the gang.

Anacik Gabriel

To be precise, its more like they died as a result of extending bucciarati life, because if he would die right there then they would not follow him to their deaths. So yeah, its still a result of destroying the rock, just saying that if someone is still confused, its not a direct consequence, they just choose to not surrender to death right now, and all good and bad things happened as a consequence of that

Hiruman

Only one part left. Not a big fan of part 6, so let's meet again at part 7 on march 2026

Pyzlnar

GG, congratz on finishing part 5! I just wanted to explain Rolling Stones cuz while I agree it is weirdly placed, it is trying to achieve something. It was not about what RS prophethized, but rather the fate that Bucciarati and their team were able to change. Since episode 1 Bucciarati was fated to die by a wound on his chest. Presumably killed by the Boss without saving Trish. No one else on the team died... but the boss was also not defeated. But that fate was changed. Bucciarati's soul was able to hang on to his body for a bit longer, save Trish and help defeat the boss... in a fate where also Narancia and Abaccio passed away. "Their hardships may end up being someone else's hope, and might be the beginning to some greater meaning"

nik

Hahahahaha Luke being confused on why they just added a random storyline of some random guy who predicted their deaths..... Looool it's Jojos. You gotta be prepared for bizarre moments in Jojo's Bizarre Adventures.

TheElementalerWars

My favorite parts are still 1 & 2. 3, 5, and 6 are also amazing. I just personally don't care for Diamond is Unbreakable.

Exxyo

Yeah, I sometimes forget that most of part 4 is filler content but at least we see development for who Jotaro is after part 3 (building up for part 6) and we also get to see old Joseph and his son Josuke, the villain does feel a bit disconnected from the main overall plot of JoJos, but it's the same as part 5, the characters and stands make up for it, just part 5 has better and more thrilling fights.

Zackary Romblad

Rolling Stones ending is a very poetic, heady ending. But as other comments have pointed out, fate has always been a character in Jojo's. Characters battling toward or against their fates has always been a super important theme. Part 5's climax was a couple episodes ago when Bucciarati's team defeated the boss, but the series of events started this way by fate and a man who suspiciously looks and gets the puncture marks of literally Jesus. They were always on the good side, but to pursue this just cause, they had to make personal sacrifices. And by the end, they elevated the righteous son of Dio to Olympian heights. As much as people dog on it not being "Giorno's" story as much as the whole group's story, I've always felt that is a good thing. For a series that boasts a new protagonist every season, they don't always need to be the focus. And that's why this ending is so poignant. Onto Jolyne, Jolyne, Jooooolyne!

Morringhan

My favorite part is 3

Canelas

19:44 "What does it matter he predicted it?" -> Everything Jojo has a recurring theme of fate, in jojo's fate cannot be changed, this has been hinted many times before, but this is the first time where they straight up tell you. King Crimson is a double stand (because of Dopio), it has both Time and Fate abilities, it can see the near Fate/Future with a 100% certainty and is able to cheat it by erasing time, its not simply a hide/relocation ability. But even with this ability fate eventually caught on and now he is paying the price by dying over and over again. As for the stone, it also matters because had Bucciarati accepted his fate earlier (which we don't know if he would or not), Giornno would not be joining the crew, the boss is not defeated, everyone else is alive. Also, PT6 best part

Dylan Cromche

i agree, i am not a fan of the rolling stone story

Zachary Kruger

I really like the setting and characters of this part so much! That being said, every part of JoJos has something I enjoy a lot. Part 5 probably just has more memorable moments than the rest for me. I’m glad you enjoyed this part very much and I’m interested to see your reaction to certain events in part 6. Also, I am excited for part 7 finally!

Karma

Will you watch Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan?

Stefan Jipa

Btw, congrats for finishing another JoJo part! 10/10 this one like previous 2 parts
