This anime feels exactly like Helldivers. Fighting waves of alien creatures, some being a much higher class. You and your teammates can respawn. Your teammate goes to loot instead of joining the main squad on the highest difficulty when the main squad needs them. Then there's the hellbomb.

I'll be curious to see if the show gets more depth or not as time goes on. Right now it kind of feels like Solo leveling. OP MC doing things way better than everyone else, side characters don't really matter, and the story is a justification to see MC beat shit up. He's also got the classic 'I was betrayed and now I seek revenge, and this is the start of me having the power to seek that revenge' archetype, which if done well can be great, but it's very easy to fall into the trap of it being generic and following what's been done before. I liked this first ep, but nothing surprised me here or left me going 'wow this is awesome'.

A single soldier, with a bunch of daggers, fought off an entire army of gigantic monsters solo, while a trained military force with magical artillery and rifles couldn't kill even remotely as effectively as he did. That's well beyond anything realistic and straight into power fantasy territory.

For the production it finished all 12 episodes. The next episode will air in Thursday, 15th Jan. I know a week break after that because of the TV show slots problem becaused they delayed the anime from Fall 2025 to Winter 2026. But the studio (Studio KAI) has confirmed that all 12 episodes are fully done. For your question on Fate/strange Fake, you don't need to watch any other fate. It's a standalone one. Because the concept is like in the same world of other fate but just the different timeline and place for the Holy Grail War. Also the animation team are so stacked, one episode could be 100+ staffs just working on the episode. So that's why the quality are consistently amazing and not to mention the amount of Animation Director for this anime alone is an absurd amount lol.

Its crazy that this anime Really flew under the Radar for many people, honestly if they can keep that kind of quality over all 12 episodes then this should be a Masterpiece. The Storytelling and pacing is made in a way that keeps you interested in it so far and im really curious how they will continue if the first episode is like that.

Oh I JUST finished watching the first ep then I came here and see that Luke watched it. It's too fresh on my mind now, but I'll watch this in an hour. Watching 5 anime weekly is barely even baby numbers. "We never get battles in anime" You mean anime YOU watch, I see them all the time. Luke keeps making this sound like its some unknown anime that everyone ignored or missed. It wasn't hidden. it JUST CAME OUT ON THE 3RD!! YESTERDAY! We don't know whats good till we actually watch them. :P But yes, it'll be a top anime.

I'm still not getting my hopes up, in the recent years there are quite a few anime that had great first episode, but then the quality, whether the story or animation dropped significantly. I think the story will focus on him fighting against the corrupt system more than demon lord, because somehow the regeneration of demon lord's is faster than the goddesses after he got framed (he was on 5th "generation" fighting against 11th demon lord, but now it's only 13th gen but fighting against 47th demon lord, it goes from 2 every gen to 6, that's a lot)

From what I have seen the whole 12 eps are already produced which is rare and usually a good sign, story wise who knows how it will go. Studio Kai more or less brought in alot of staff from mushuko tensei S1 team hence why it feels similar in artstyle Looking forward to how this show goes, it clearly has the potential

Legit for the rest of the kara no kyoukai (garden of Sinners) films I am willing to wait years, but yeah probably only 50 or so of us want to see them. I will say tho Movie 5 is the best film of the series. Worth watching at least that someday if you have that fate itch.

well he is OP as far as first episode goes, dude literally has a goddess , he is immortal aaand he killed a demon lord pretty much by himself. I guess you think of saitama? in the grand scheme of shounen he is weak AF. Rudeus would wipe his ass ez and rudeus he himself is weak AF. But in terms of his own universe?... and based only in the framework of an episode...?

If it helps you Luke, I hadn't heard of this anime until I saw you had randomly reacted to it. So I went to see it, completely blind, and was just as blown away as you were. That slide and knife throw gave me the same exact feeling as Rudeus's first time casting proper magic in Mushoku Tensei (which I also hadn't heard of prior), and I really hope you'll keep reacting to it, because I sure as hell will keep watching it unless they completely manage to fluff it up!

The minimum suggested requirements to watch Fate Strange Fake is Zero+UBW so I would advise you to watch it. You could do with watching the movies but it's not necessary. I would also say to watch case files before season 2, whenever that comes out.

Luke, about the quality of this series, what I heard is that the ENTIRE season's making is finished. So, they took the necessary time to properly give this everything that they thought it deserved, BEFORE it started airing. If that's not a truly kickass good sign, idk what is.

Fate/Zero is the fourth war. Strange Fake takes place after the fifth war (stay night) but in an alternate timeline from the 3 different routes of stay night. An undefined fourth route if you will. The third war was the one were angry mango got summoned and the grail got corrupted. So since the grail didn't get corrupted untill the end of the third war, presumably that means the strange fake grail won't be corrupted by default.

Believe it or not, they animated a couple of Marine's music videos, namely the one composed by Toby Fox where she fights herself and the City Pop one she did with Gura, both with really high quality animation. Funnily enough they also did Season 2 and 3 of Umamusume but that was their first gig and comparing them then to where they're at now it's like night and day.

Difference here is the show is already finished. So I would assume quality is going to be up to par with this episode for the whole season. And the staff list is huge so they put a ton of time and money into this series

I was also blown away by the animation myself, its got such a nice style too. It really has a hand drawn look and I am here for it. And I am so digging the first person shots. They are SO cool. When I watched this episode myself, I was literally thinking "when Luke sees this he's going to be so mad as these knights. I can already hear it". So happy to see I was right haha. Also, I didn't catch both the 13th holy knights and 13th goddess part. Xylo was the 5th knights so I wonder if his goddess was the 5th goddess? And I had glossed over Kiva not retreating to just being stubborn on my 1st watch but on my 2nd watch with you, I think your comment about the order for retreat not getting to him makes more sense. That got me thinking that maybe your other comment was correct too, that someone is trying to get a goddess corrupted? If so, maybe they were trying to do the same thing to Kiva and the Terrario that they they did to Xylo and Senerva? Because the guy that ran off at the beginning seemed to have been happy that the knights who had been defending the goddess's coffin had all died. I honestly can't wait to see what happens next!

This is a very new concept and twist that they put on the term Hero. It's almost as if it completely changes into a dirty word, and is something to be despised. Yet when they talk about honor they make it sound like that is something you can use to through away anyone's lives.

I think he was betrayed because the church could not control him. The Captain of the Knights is in exactly the same situation. This is the best I have seen since Solo Leveling and Lord of Mysteries. I don't watch many anime, but this one is on my list. I cannot wait until #2 is out. Your reaction introduced me to the anime which I have watched multiple times on your channel. Good work.
