Emonty

No babes there’s stuff to watch before Lemonade. I can’t think right now but I’ll be in the YouTube comments later🤷🏾‍♀️

Gene

Luke, just in time for my workout!! I love listening and watching between sets!!

Shaun Hanna Reynolds

Yesss I was going to suggest this. I just watched it again last night lol

I.AmZai

Yes Self titled do have a tour. Self titled came out in 2013 Beyoncé tour at that time was The Mrs Carter Show World Tour. So I think you should watch that first then do On The Run Tour because that came the next year in 2014

Victor Hugo Okamoto Husch

Better watch Lemonade film straight, it's better to know the concept of the album!

Curwin Sphere

I think approaching the Lemonade visual album like you did Self Titled is the best way to go. You'll especially get the full meaning, essence of the music by watching the film. You can always react to the official audio at a later stage. The On the run tour is a great way/ route to Lemonade. I mean, it'll be like you just watched these two on tour together, one of their best showcases and here comes Beyoncé with the bombshell that is Lemonade.

Mason Schutz

Hearing her say she recorded around 80 SONGS for this album kills me inside because I’m just over here thinking “Wow, and the fact that we’ll likely never hear them and they’re just chilling on a hard drive somewhere.”

Jie

Lemonade film is the visual album but yes, some songs are Shorter or interrupted by spoken word, However I think you should definitely react to the film first.

mateo duran

YESS watch the lemonade visual album PLEASE btw love ur reactions!

pen

Love this so much

pen

Excited for thr next ones!!

HKAMILAH

Please, can you do the bonus songs + 10-minute Q&A for this album before you move on to anything else? Yes, as difficult as it is, we'd love for you to react to XO live, but that can also happen a little later, as it was after Lemonade. I think it's best we go in chronological order.

Anthony

Lemonade Visual Album First, Just How It Was Put Out. Then Yes, We Can Go Through The Album In Whole For The Whole Versions Of The Songs.

Charles Brown

Yes, it'd be dope to react to this special! Plus, I feel it could be watched in one sitting 💯

Sydney Barrett

Damn you missed the 10 minute q&a 😕 😒 😪

Sydney Barrett

He needs to watch the whole tour as a appetizer for lemonade

Danielle

There's not a full tour of these songs, but she performs a lot of them at her 2015 Budweiser Made In America Festival for Tidal X! A *Must Watch* Concert that you will enjoy from start to finish!! https://badassyonce.wixsite.com/website/copy-of-live-performances The Lemonade Album is a Visual Album, but it's more of a film! So I would suggest that you please listen to the Album's AUDIO in full first, then the Lemonade Film, & the Officlal Videos afterwards! The film doesn't have all of the full songs and you will be able to interpret the visuals better after listening to the audio, being that a lot of people get lost in what they're seeing, & not listening to what she's talking about!! I know others say otherwise, but this album was very meaningful to our culture/society ✊🏾& very personal for her💔❤️, so it should be received in the best ways to actually understand it! Either way I'm excited as we continue to follow YOUR journey, as each of her Albums are a continuous journey into her brilliant, creative mind & her constant EVOLUTION!! 🫶🏾

Stephsmithanie

I am loving your Beyonce journey, you see her and I love that.

Bey Brown

Are you going to do the live performances for this album before you move on?

Helena

Make sure you do lemonade in one go as it’s a story!

Bey Brown

1. Mrs. Carter World Tour (Tidal X10) First please! (You have to go back at some point and see the first version of Mrs. Carter tour Revel/Atlantic City) She dropped Self-titled in the middle of the tour (Dec13) and changed the whole tour for Jan. 2. On the Run I- Joint tour with Jay Z BEFORE Lemonade 2b. Made in America Here but if you have to choose, MrsCarter Plz. 3. Then do Lemonade Visual Album, there are no features on the visuals and some songs are shorter on the visuals.

Bey Brown

Yes, unfortunately you will see the pain, but you will also see the growth, the beauty, the strength. She really is a light and nothing can dim it.

m

Aww man he did I haven’t got a chance to watch yet💔💔

Cynthia Fenderson

Luke you totally get her! Now you know why we are such LOYAL, RIDE OR DIE FANS! Welcome to the HIVE🥰🤗🥹

Ahmir B

I definitely suggest some OTR performances and the Made In America show before moving to Lemonade. I commented this on the last vid, and I’ll repeat here: while many suggest watching the film for Lemonade first, I highly suggest listening to the album in its entirety first. It tells a full story and the visual album will be very multilayered that think it may be overwhelming to try and take in everything at once if you don't already know the music. I know you typically break it up, but I would say this album in particular is the type where you should listen in one sitting. For editing and posting purposes you can still cut it, but think to do it justice it's best to hear it all at once and not separate days. Once you've listenec to the audio, the film can be its own reaction. It is a connected film unlike self-titled which is 17 separate videos, so again, one sitting is best to appreciate it all. I say this because you are listening for the first time with the specific intent as a reactor. Your job is to express to us what you experience. We are only going to see you experience it once, not every subsequent time you watches/listens. Lemonade is much more complex than Self-Titled, and the music, vocals, production alone is its own journey without adding the visuals and additional context of the film. Also, as with ST and 4, you tend to not go back and react to individual tracks that are cut shorter with visuals, so with that in mind it'd be best to hear everything in its entirety, and then move forward with the film where you have the foundation of the music and can focus on everything else to react to.

Bey Brown

That Hampton’s idea has turned into Beyonce’s writer’s camp. All kinds of writer’s get opportunities and Beyonce gives feedback, co-writes, & some of the songs get on her albums. The song Love Drought came from one of them, from Lemonade.

Ahmir B

Did you read my comment? I’m saying because he normally does not go back and react to album tracks after watching the video that it’s better to consume the audio first and have the full extent of it with its context before delving into the richness of the film so that he is not responding to so much at once and doesn’t have to digest everything

Aiofe

Yes you have to see her in pain. But the beauty of Lemonade is that its about healing, not pain. It it painful in parts, raw, brutal. But its also about growth and redemption and connection & forgiveness and then joy once again. Its like getting an insight into years of work and therapy. Yes- we love happy Beyonce and dancing Beyonce and funny Beyonce. But she is a real person and experiences real things. And sometimes reality hurts like a SOB. But showing the vulnerability shows others you too can survive.

Aiofe

Sorry. I feel like he should watch Lemonade in one sitting, like a film. THEN listen to the songs. That’s how she released it so I feel like that’s how she meant it to be experienced.

Aiofe

1. Listen to full version of Rocket. 2. XO live - her entire performance of XO & Halo. 3. Made in America performance / OTR I. 4. Lemonade visual album- in one sitting. This is how she released it & meant it to be experienced. The way you watch Encanto. 5. Then listen to Lemonade as an album because some of the songs are longer.

Aiofe

He should watch Lemonade in one sitting, like a film, not like he did self-titled, because its a film, not a visual album. It should be watched the way he did Encanto. Then go back and LISTEN to the album.

Mia Speakz

Ok. you have to do the 2014 superbowl, if you haven't already. You can do the tour with Jay z but I'll leave that up to you. The compilation performance for this album should definite be done, I think it's either a VMA or Grammy performance. But you most definitely have to do lemonade after which was a full movie and I think all of the songs from that album is in it. That is my favorite.

Senè

My take is : 1. OTR1 concert - i think it's a good way to get the feel for jay and beyonce together right after the scandal happened 2. The 2014 MTV awards 3. The lemonade album first b/c it has the full-length songs; and i think watching the film second will help you concentrate more on the visuals and meaning. It would really make me sad for you to know that you wouldn't get the full length of love drought if you watch the film first b/c of how important that song is to the story. Edit. Please watch the elevator video before watching OTR/lemonade. You'll get a feel of the volatility of it all.

m

Sad u didn’t do the Q&A that could’ve made this video longer and really even it out but great reaction anyways!

fry

you saying that you want to show the world to beyoncé is so real. because beyoncé is “overrated” it makes her insanely underrated people don’t truly understand how talented she is because of how big she is it’s such a crazy paradox

Karry forde

TALENT, MEETS CREATIVITY = THE GENIUS BEYONCE. Luke i love how much you love this woman. I Luke is a bey hive. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Angie

Luke, I think you want to become a Beyvangelist. ;D

kenjah battle

PLEASE react to the 2014 VMA's performance. It's her performing a self-titled medley. She was accepting the VMA's video vanguard award that year 💕

Rigo

Luke, please consider watching the Lemonade film in one sitting, rather than breaking it up like you normally do! I get it if you have life stuff that you need to prioritize, but it's such a singular piece of art that I'd just be very interested to see your reaction to the whole thing all at once. Afterwards, you'll want to listen to the album to get the full versions of all the songs.

Ana F

Luke! You should react to the On The Run Tour with Jay-Z next. I think solely for Pretty Hurts and Forever Young Live, it’s already worth it. I think it gives you a chance to spend a little more time with these songs. Then, Lemonade Film! Then Lemonade Album. Lemonade is so impactful and layered in nature. You’re so insightful but I feel like I’m still discovering things about the Lemonade film even now! It’s so layered! And I cannot wait for you to experience it.

Jodi

Luke we can’t move past this era without you watching the INFAMOUS elevator video😶😶 Bey references it in her flawless remix ft Nicki Minaj

Kiyah

I think you should do the joint tour first❤️

Leroy Gibbons

For the next Beyoncé album reactions, can you listen to them on like spotify or some other music streaming platform because they have to be in order and also some songs transition into each other. ♥️

T

My vote from this era are: - TMZ Elevator Incident + Bonus Songs + Q&A - On The Run Tour I (incl. trailer) - Made in America 2015 High Level Schedule: Feb - Self Tilted performances + Lemonade Film March - Homecoming + 4:44 + EIL April - OTR II + Black is King + Act i Renaissance May - Renaissance Tour + Act ii Cowboy Carter + Cowboy Carter Tour Act iii is speculated to drop May 29th. No one knows for sure but I would love to have you caught up before it drops!! The beehive is buzzing!! 🐝🐝

Saphire

Agreed! I think he should also react to the infamous "Elevator" tape before OTR1 concert. The tape leaked just before they went on tour and he will be able to experience things in the same order that what we experienced it with all the context that we had.

Senè

Completely agree. He should definitely react to the elevator video.

Saphire

Don't forget the leaked "elevator" video should be watched before the OTR1 tour so that he can have the same context we had at the time. Elevator video in May 2014. They began the OTR1 tour June 2014.

Ulysses Alaniz

Before you live away from her self titled album you should really react to “Yours and Mine” It’s sooo good!

Tishae

Luke, I really recommend listening to the Lemonade album first before watching the film. The music is the foundation of the project, the lyrics, vocals, sequencing, and emotional arc all stand on their own. Sitting with the songs first lets you form your own understanding without the visuals guiding or pre interpreting your reaction. With the film I really want you to be able to focus solely on the visuals and poetry. With separating the two, you can focus solely on her vocals and lyrics first then have those visuals match up after digesting the lyrics. Most reactors Ive seen on this journey do it that way and it seems to produce a better experience. The film is powerful, but it’s an expansion of the album, not a replacement for it. Also, parts of the music experience like Kendrick Lamar’s full verse on Freedom aren’t even included in the film, which means watching first actually removes an important layer of the album’s impact. However you decide to proceed, I know I’ll enjoy your reactions either way❤️

Orlando

I agree this is a must before moving on. He will have a better appreciation of the art.

Nicole N

I am in agreement with everyone here. I recommend watching the OTR tour (the full concert is on youtube). I also suggest that if possible listen to the lemonade album first just the audio (in one sitting if you can). I know what you usually do is watch the music videos of the songs for your album reactions, but to really get it I think listening to the album first is better before watching the film. I can't tell you what to do but I recommend that you do not watch the songs in parts because it will take away from the impact. If you can pull it up on spotify, apple music, youtube music etc I think thats best. Then watch the film. That's just my two cents.

Kells881

I love watching you fall more in love with her artistry as we have. That’s what makes her so unique to me. Again, I will warn you without giving too much away. When you do get to Lemonade it will arise many different emotions as she herself goes through. The visuals tell the story. FYI, she will soon be dropping a single for the next act of her trilogy. Once she starts making IG post, something’s cooking & she’s done just that, even making a reference to what we all know it to be!🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

RC

THIS!!!

RC

You providing a high-level timeline is so so soooo good. And I agree, we need to get him caught up before Beyoncé drops the next album.

T

Thank you!! I must admit, I may have been one of the ones “rushing” him but it was all for this reason alone: he deserves to yearn and experience the drop, whatever it may be, with the rest of us!!

Bella Raye Maven

Why is everyone forgetting about THE MRS. CARTER WORLD TOUR!!!! (2013-2014) This tour features her self-titled album. Then, OTR (On the Run) Tour 2014 and Made in America Concert 2015. Which was great! We mustn't rush. There's so much more before 🍋

T

Girl!! Cowboy Carter is MISSING right now! Last seen at the Boy is Mine concert…there is a BOLO out rn!!

Bella Raye Maven

FIRST!... - The Mrs. Carter World Tour 2013-2014 (the elevator incident for context to FLAWLESS remix) - OTR (On the Run) Tour w/Jay-Z 2014 - Budweiser Made in America Concert 2015 🔥

RC

Luke, when you said "this album is healing for the world" -- and I agree, this was such a beautiful album back when it was released. And tbh, I can't wait til you reach RENAISSANCE. I look back at that era and how beautiful and healing it was. It was a truly, TRULY beautiful time. Similar to how she did the self-titled album and Lemonade, she really wasn't marketing. The music was just out there for her fans and for the people who needed to listen to it (and dance to it). I love that you're also falling in love with our Beyoncé. Mind you -- i've been a fan/stan since the Say My Name. It was great to grow up with her. <3

Bella Raye Maven

I believe he reacted to the VMA performance already early on. Someone recommended it before he decided to take the journey from the start of her solo career.

Bella Raye Maven

I agree with the Elevator incident and OTR Tour but before moving on to Lemonade, he must see the 2015 Made in America Concert which has the 50 Shades of Grey Crazy in Love remix, other classics and self-titled album songs. It was amazing!

Bella Raye Maven

Yes, but not before the Elevator Incident, OTR and Made in America Concert. In order for him to get the full context of what happened, He's got to watch it in the order that we did.

Bella Raye Maven

THIS COMMENT HERE‼️‼️‼️ This is the only comment I've seen that has mentioned The Mrs. Carter World Tour!!!! This is what needs to be next to stay in chronological order of things. Folks are trying sooo fast to get him to Lemonade, he's going to miss iconic performances in-between! 😫

Bella Raye Maven

‼️EXACTLY‼️This is only the second comment I've seen that has mentioned The Mrs. Carter World Tour!!!! This is what needs to be next to stay in chronological order of things. Folks are trying sooo fast to get him to Lemonade, he's going to miss out on iconic shyt in-between! 😫

Curwin Sphere

Some people suggested he listen to the audio first before watching the film which is why I said he should approach it like the ST by getting the whole experience that the visuals, music along with poetry adds.

Bella Raye Maven

Yes, it's a must watch, BUT not before The Mrs. Carter World Tour. THIS tour featured her self-titled album! Then, the elevator incident, OTR and Made in America. We gotta get him to go in order for him to get full context of things!

Bella Raye Maven

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE!!! The Mrs. Carter World Tour is up next if we're staying in chronological order of things.

Bella Raye Maven

Next up MUST be The Mrs. Carter World Tour if we're keeping him in chronological order. Folks are so eager to get to Lemonade but we have at least 3 more concerts before that!

Bella Raye Maven

NOT YET Y'ALL!!! There's much more before Lemonade. The Mrs. Carter World Tour 2013-2014, OTR 2014, Made in America 2015. Our girl was booked and busy!!!!

Bella Raye Maven

Before OTR... THE MRS. CARTER WORLD TOUR 2013-2014!! This tour features her self-titled album. Then the elevator incident (for context to FLAWLESS remix), then OTR Tour 2014 and Made in America Concert 2015! Was fire!!!! 🔥

Emonty

I know I couldn’t think of specifics but I know there are some things he needs to watch

Nope

My husband knows I’m watching a video when he hears “EXACTLY LUKE!” No other reactor loves or gets her like you. Like Yess of course we go door to door. They don’t call us a cult for nothin. You’ve reached the Evangelical stop in your journey ahead of schedule so welcome. If you’re wondering when the meetings are, they’re Mondays and Thursdays here. We all get to see what we looked like when we fell in love with her. A reaffirming of our faith one might say. The best of times tbh

Bella Raye Maven

There's at least 4 tours/concerts before 🍋 & Beychella! He mustn't skip not one!

mateo duran

True but i dont think he will do all 4 tours💔

Nope

Yep! He is very visually focused. The movie is going to be incredibly triggering for him. He adores her and cries at her pain. He can’t even do resentment. Lemonade is Resentment x 100. He needs to work up to it imho

Bella Raye Maven

Yes, but first... THE MRS. CARTER WORLD TOUR 2013-2014 Features self-titled album. (then the elevator incident May 5, 2014) OTR Tour w/Jay-Z 2014

Bella Raye Maven

LUKE PLEASE!!!! 🙋🏽‍♀️ First, I LOVE YOUR REACTIONS 💞🤗 Second, FOLKS ARE RUSHING YOU TO LEMONADE 🍋 A true BEYHIVER will lead you in chronological order of events. There's at least 3 MORE CONCERTS THAT'S A MUST WATCH BEFORE GOING ANY FURTHER! Next up should be: THE MRS. CARTER WORLD TOUR 2013-2014 At this point she dropped the self-titled album in the middle of this tour. She performs her last two albums plus the classics. https://youtu.be/FTCnNMMITqA?si=QnFJ-mgjN1jF25D_ Watch the elevator Incident on May 5, 2014 (for context to FLAWLESS remix) https://youtu.be/CEUVrKoWGXg?si=0p8JM74SgwQ0FEHI OTR (On the Run) Tour w/Jay-Z 2014 This tour started 4 months after the elevator incident. https://youtu.be/VNnnfExu7PE?si=pEetqtHQ-HqfxDOc Budweiser Made in America Concert for Tidal 2015 Fire Show! 🔥 Crazy in Love, 50 Shades of Grey remix plus cool lighting and set. https://youtu.be/O-a-V1tj96k?si=kmN8iOksOVF4MFkK ALL a must watch before Lemonade. You won't be disappointed! 🍋✌🏾👑🐝💛🎶

Bella Raye Maven

Made in America was in 2015. He should watch The Mrs. Carter World Tour first, then OTR before the Budweiser Festival. Don't ya think?

Bey Brown

Yea I agree. think he should do the Tidal X10 next. Hmm. I see you. Let me change my response

Erwin 𐚁

Also - “Lemonade” dropped as a film on HBO, the accompanying album dropped once the film finished. The film will give you more context as there is poetry throughout. She also performed just about every song from the album at separate events - VMAs, Grammys, BET Awards, Tidal X, Super Bowl.

Bella Raye Maven

They're pivotal to the journey leading up to 🍋 and Beychella 😫🥴

Jason LeMar

If you do want a non fan made experience of the live performances from this era, one show that’s only got a couple of mentions is: Beyoncé - Rock In Rio. That is an official concert video from The Mrs. Carter World Tour. Like others have said: For context: (watch Elevator incident with Solange) The you have the On The Run Tour (2014) Chime for Change Concert (Grown Woman performance) Budweiser Made In America 2015 Show Then we enter LEMONADE - 2016, the Full Film is on TIDAL or Apple Music. (Not sure about Spotify, I don’t use Spotify) Take your time. ✨ after LEMONADE Film: - 2016 MTV Medley of Lemonade (Already Done) - 2016 BET Awards Performance w/ Kendrick (Already Done) - 2017 Grammy Awards Performance of Love Drought & Sandcastles - TIDAL performances of 6 Inch Heels, All Night Unfortunately, LEMONADE era did not have a Tour film or documentary release. Triggering for the Hive 😂😂

T

I didn’t forget it. My personal vote doesn’t include it 🤷🏽‍♀️ plenty of others suggested Mrs. Carter World Tour.

MM

When you react to Lemonade, react to the Lemonade film first. It will have a bigger impact on you seeing and hearing her vision at the same time.

Helena

I agree with that also, he needs to react to both in one go. Not in parts as it’s not something that can be broken down as everything, is one big story. I think just the music album first as the visual film cuts off some of the songs in full. We only get to see him react to the lemonade visuals once & I think if he listened to just the album on its own it won’t be as overwhelming as there is so many things going on, you miss a lot if you just jump in and watch the film. Either way make sure you watch the album or the visual film in one reaction. 🐝💛

Helena

Yeah I agree with that too! Plus all night is cut short too.

Trina

This is it!!!

Anthony

Big On Being Triggered !!!!!! Lol 🤣 Cause What You Mean I Can Only Relive Those Moments Through My Videos I Recorded On My Phone And Am Singing Terribly !!!! 🤣🤣🤣

H T

LEMONADE FOR SURE

Jory H Bell

Great reaction. If you are looking for a live performance of this album then you should watch the MTV awards when she receives the Michael Jackson Vanguard award. You could also watch her “Made in America” performance. These two live performances should be enough for this album. Lemonade is indeed a film and I do believe you should watch it before you do anything else regarding the Lemonade era (besides possibly watching the elevator incident to get context, but I also don’t really think that that’s necessary).

Aiofe

I just rewatched and i changed my mind. I think he should listen, to feel the music, then watch the film to experience the storyline, poems and visuals.

Aiofe

I said this on YouTube, but do not let people rush you to Lemonade there was 5 years between Self-Titled and Lemonade and in that time she experienced so much that is reflected in her art. Both personally and in the world as it relates to being a Black woman. Pace yourself and enjoy the journey so you can see the changes and growth. Lemonade is not an end goal that we need to race towards. It is part of her journey and ours as the Hive.

Aiofe

Post Lemonade I hope you react to the Lemonade podcast that really goes in depth and analyses the music and visuals with historical and social commentary. If you listen to the album, then, watch Lemonade, and do the podcast each piece will add something to your understanding and appreciation. Lemonade is her Magnum Opus and alongside Jay-Z’s 4:44 then Everything Is Love (joint album) culminates in Homecoming. The way DAMN earned Kendrick the Pulitzer, Lemonade is undoubtedly one of the most influential, groundbreaking & important pieces of ART created in the last century.

Mark

CAN WE ALSO WATCH THE ELEVATOR FIGHT! YOU NEED FULL CONTEXT!

Ali

Hey Luke, I second what Aiofe Fern suggested- listen to the podcast. The podcast is called "Dissect" and I know its on Spotify, im sure you can find it other places too. They do deep dive analysis of different albums/artists & the one on Lemonade is a must listen. Side note: The Lauryn Hill one is amazing too. Anyhow, Back to Yonce..I feel like it should be required listening, especially for white folks (I myself am a white canadian), as it helps to educate and help to understand/contectualize all the history & symbolism in it. I consider myself very politically left and aware however, being white and far removed from the African American experience/culture, I found it expectionally informative and highlighted the fact that everything she does is with deep intention. To be fair, her music/art is not made for us white folks, however I feel like we more than anyone benefit from it and should be learning from it. We should be so honored to be witness to it and its lessons. We actually are very lucky to be around in the time of her greatness as she is gracious enough to teach us through her art. We really need to use our privilege as white folks to do the listening and learning from those who are trying to tell us their history and how the opression they suffered and still do experience effects their lives today. She sheds light on police brutality by way of state violence and the how that ties back to slavery and the impacts of it on the Black Family & Black Love. Really, a must listen for those of us removed from the Black lived experience.

Zoi Herself

Please please PLEASE react to her Homecoming documentary!! You should do the Lemonade Visual Album next and the Homecoming documentary after that, which was her first ever Coachella performance that she turned into a documentary. I love being on this journey with you! So fun!
