It is crazy how similar Rubys actions, in the last couple episodes, were to his. I really like the symbolism at the beginning where they stand at a crossroad and her going through a "door" and seemingly being out of reach now.

Mike

Here we go, back on the emotional rollercoaster!

Rem is best waifu

It just get crazier from here, I just wish Kana wasn't always collateral damage when bad things happen.

DRACO

HERE WE FUCKING GO AGAIN. THE DRAMA IS SO PEAK.

DRACO

Poor Kana Team bruh for this episode.

Ray H

If Aqua won’t do it, I’ll take care of Kana.

jdoggivjc

Reread these manga chapters a week or two ago - yes, there's a 6-month skip in this part of the manga as well.

d_takada18

This episode direction is so fucking good. The tension presented through the entire episode is breathtaking

Serhii Holiev

Well, they are similar, but completely different at the same time. Ruby compared her actions to what Aqua did to Akane, but she is completely wrong. Aqua saved Akane (both from suicide and online hate) on the show purely out of his own kindness and he had no other intentions. Her “perfectly” understanding and imitating Ai happened later, he didn’t intend to use it. I would also argue that he really used Akane in any way. Ruby acted way more brutal and her only intention was to get director to owe her. So these situations are completely different

Yet to watch Luke’s reaction, but jeez, this is the top-1 horror episode of 2026 XD This was so unsettling

Mysthe

The manga does the same time jumps. And I was waiting for this episode, Aqua cracking down, Akane figuring out... I liked this part. As many manga readers I'm disappointed by the ending, but perhaps the anime will do better.

Cleocyde

this episode is so fucking incredible holy shit

crazizzle85

Troubling bit of math here, iirc. Aqua's half brother was older than him. He was 15 when he was with AI. That means he was with the brother's mom... Before that. Oh God. I don't think we're done with disgusting reveals.

crazizzle85

Everyone in this show feels like a victim who needs a hug. Maybe even the bad guys.

axilir21

Man I rarely watch drama shows like this because of how easily I get heart pain (dunno what else to call it) when I watch them, and this one is reminding me why I don't😂

Camori

This has got to be the most stressed ive ever been from watching a show...

R00t

My thoughts exactly. I want to drop this anime but I just can't. This is going to be painful.

Sylisen E.

what an incredible epissode man !!!! this show has no chill

Frentzy

I stopped watching oshi no ko personally because I don't do well with drama. If something makes me feel bad I avoid it on purpose, real life gives enough of that , no need extra pain. XD I guess I am weakling. Just came here to comment.

Maria Amado

I just finished watching the episode and RAN right here just to not suffer alone, watched the whole thing again, it does not improved the shock…

Maria Amado

Yeah, I did that math too…

kai_sama98

Damn... Akane with that name drop at the end😅

TheMagicSeal

Its so creepy how around 8 minutes in the Dad is narrating the article. Gave me chills. So glad the GOAT got to play this role.

A small detail that I love among this episode of madness is Ruby’s brief expression of irritation/dissatisfaction with Aqua’s face during their conversation. I wonder why she was touched by Aqua’s disappointment: is it because Aqua (according to Ruby) did the same thing with Akane and they are both on the revenge route, and yet he is for some reason disappointed in how she handled the situation? Or is it more of a self-conflict (Obviously Ruby fully understands that what she is doing is wrong, but she decide to literally abandon all morality for the revenge’s sake) and she sees in Aqua’s expression what she truly feels about her actions? It is really difficult to precisely identify their relationships since at one point Ruby is casually taking Aqua’s things from his room (S1), calls him Onii-chan, and they talk about various stuff and at other point they don’t communicate at all. Like how the fuck bro needed 6 months after their conversation to find Ichigo, how the fuck he didn’t question her right there, Aqua decided to lag for half a year. Update: lol just realised that Ruby doesn’t know whether Aqua wants a revenge or not. Then it is kind of safe to say she was hurt since Aqua’s opinion is slightly important to her

Wirk Leon

Weird. Did Luke rename himself Aqua? Both had the same meltdown this episode 😅😅

Wirk Leon

Luke would fold like origami at traditional telenovela drama lmaooo

Kyle Garrett

As a manga reader all I can say is that I felt exactly the same when I read this for the first time, and that the show has done a great job portraying Aqua's anguish and despair as he realizes he isn't free from his trauma and guilt. We're so blessed to have a good adaptation for this series.

Abraham Perez

You wanted the seriousness back... Well... you got it...

Lucas Prestes

I’m not worried they will make her disappear, she knows this information will only make Aqua sad, so she will probably keep it to herself

KeanuofRivia

Im so afraid for her! This is death flag central!

KeanuofRivia

the op has me worrying that its only going to get worse for her from here on...

KeanuofRivia

Theyre similar but Aqua always had this feel of using someone but being careful not to break them. I dont feel that restraint from Ruby... She feels either uncaring or extremely over confident. Im wondering who shes going to burn...

thewizardninja

@Serhii There's also the fact that Ruby was in no way thinking about the number of people that would be ruined if things didn't happen to work out exactly as she intended. Their sacrifice was one she was willing to make.

Jenny Rolandsson

FYI the narrator at the half year time jump (around 8:00) is the VA for the Dad Miyano Mamoru

Osborn Malakhov

Yeah, she's always catching strays for no reason and she's just trying to help...

Aaren YASS

It will only get crazier and more painful 🙏

Aaren YASS

The worst realization while watching this episode, or after, is doing the math and realizing that Hikaru (the father) was an 11 year old child when their older half brother was born. Airi was on the Island frfr ☠️☠️☠️
