TUCA DONKA starts playing...

DRACO

Gosso Cinema every episode.

OleBrr

I love this channel, man. Feels like when someone described Gon in HxH as having "innocent curiosity" Making a note of everything and genuinely having fun

DRACO

Hajime Kashimo is not even once mentioned before, maybe you're familiar or could be spoiled with the name because it's been hyped up for a long time. He's a sorcerer from 400 years ago being REINCARNATED to the people who were transfigured by Kenjaku (using Idle Transfiguration, which he extracted from Mahito) are primarily referred to as "Culling Game Players". By the way I guess the thing that you missed on something maybe was the name Yamato no Orochi, the one who can see Sukuna's techniques that was during the Mahoraga fight back in S2 Eps 17 or maybe Hana Kurusu aka Angel who can free Gojo based on what Tengen-sama said.

DRACO

You might want to watch or read episode 3 again. You're missing some confident on the strategy or might even loss the track of each individuals are going to do. If you want a short one there is a 3 minute video on YouTube about Episode 3 by the officials. Megumi and Itadori are explaining it. Because you said that "They're going back to Tengen" which is impossible because we needed Choso to go through the barriers and doors. And it's a waste of time so they need to go to the Tokyo Colony and finds Angel ASAP to release Gojo and add a rule so they could go out the Colony to free Tsumiki from the Culling Game.

the meme gamer

It's been 10 days so killing 4 sourcerers a day would easily give him 200 points

Kindyh Bordat

I love kirara power, he is so cool same for my goat Hakari. (Still really don't like that new direction tho)

Loading Codex

Whilst I can't say I'm all that surprised, the internet's response to Kirara's character has further made me lose hope in humanity. She's super cool and their cursed technique is really interesting, but I suppose some people have tunnel vision. (I'm obviously not talking about Luke here)

Maks Lesniewski

Think you need your eyesight checked, man, cause she looks like a girl to me.

Sinbad_Deity

Looks are deceiving, this is the perfect example....

Lusanagi

No no you dont get it instead of talking about how cool the adaptation is we must reiterate that Kirara is a man despite everything in the story telling us very clearly that thats not the case!!! It's way more important than anything else ever and we must correct anyone who correctly genders her because I will be butt hurt and cry about it otherwise!! /s

no u uwu

You thought Hakari was aura farming, but it was yuji who was truly aura farming.

Antony

That is true, however one cannot change the shape of ones soul, and Mahito is dead so, you know what that means

Makotheq60

Luke panda and megumi kept referring to kirara as "they" for a reason lol

patros36

anyone saying "she looks like a girl though" has never seen another anime before. There are way too many examples of traps in the sphere. And for now, the only indication we have is Panda calling him a guy so i would say its a femboy.

patros36

Well only the subtitles were using "they". No one in the fight used any pronouns and just said "Kirara" when referring to Kirara. The only indication we have is Panda calling Kirara a guy so....

Pierre Bezukov

Hey G.O.T. Do you take requests? If so, how do I do it? I watched you watch Hamilton so enthusiastically that now I'm a member! Let me know, would ya?

Arctic_Hokkyoku

Some people become blind in "their" later years

Finelia Braun

SHE is a trans women! It is really not that hard, wtf is wrong with ya'll?!

Finelia Braun

Luke PLEASE for the love of god, tell your transphobic piece of shit followers that they suck. Kirara is a trans woman, it is really not that hard to see and understand that... Y_Y

charlymoon

Kirara is a man last episode when Panda mentions Kirara to Megumi he's confused and says to panda that he thought that the other 3rd year student was a guy, which panda actually confirms that he's correct it is assumed then that Kirara is a guy that likes to cross-dress and that is in a relationship with Hakari, assuming Kirara is a trans woman just because he likes to cross-dress or because he's gay it's weird to me, even more fighting others over it I assume many people that fight over this have just started watching anime recently but it is a pretty common anime trope that there might be guys that either like to look pretty and cross-dress (Like Astolfo from fate, Felix from Re:zero or Hideri Kanzaki from blends) or characters that are unintentionally feminine (like Nagisa from AssClass or Saika Totsuka from Oregairu) but that doesn't automatically make them trans, it's just a trope called "Otoko no ko"

charlymoon

I really didn't want to make this comment at first but I thought it was sad that I came back to read people's comments about the episode and there's a lot of people screaming at each others over this

charlymoon

english subtitles usually do whatever they want tbh

Makotheq60

Hi fellow sapling/napling 👋

Ryan Palyo

I think you all care about the gender of a fictional character way too much, on both sides of the argument. Kirara's gender has literally zero effect on the plot of the show, who cares?

Sinbad_Deity

She's not, it's never been confirmed by Gege, so it's head cannon, what's wrong with you?

maratreus ,

Kirara is a trans woman or non-binary, but definitely not cross-dressing. The confirmation is in chapter 181. Panda called her a boy because he hadn't seen after she transitioned. She couldn't transition in Jujutsu High because,as said by panda, "(The higher-ups's) idea of "conservative" goes beyond just policy towards regulations. They have set ideas of what Jujutsu should be". Also, that is the reason she followed him despite the fact that only Hikari was expelled.

maratreus ,

I think he is doing fine. Sure, since he said he prepared so much for ep 3 then it could be useful, but it isn't a "need".

charlymoon

there's literally nothing about it in that chapter this explanation that you provided is just head-canon and doesn't make sense, panda isn't surprised at all when he sees kirara after that conversation with fushiguro, he identifies him immediately, also if the higher ups were also strict about kirara's gender then he would've been expelled as well, instead he just followed Hakari on his own accord

Frentzy

nice cute toxic comment lil bro.

Frentzy

i watched this with better subs on pir-ate anime website, where there wasn't any "they". I wish these people would properly translate but every time i come watch luke i feel bad for him reading that slop translation full of whatever they wanna add or misappropriate.

Antony

1st world problems cannot cease to amaze me these days, yall need to check up on yourselves with those comments, nevertheless its still crazy to see so many ppl (actually grown-ass men) to jump willingly on Kirara's nuts for zero reason and proclaiming themselves gay by proxy 😂😂😂

patros36

Yeah unfortunately its crunchyroll again. Apparently amazon has better subs.

patros36

"Kirara is a female name" Yeah so is Megumi

Wakuza

you see Luke that guy Hajime Kashimo is the guy you absolutely want to look forward to he don't really have much screen time but the one he had the most time is going to be amazing also about Kirara gender there's a guy name charlymoon here explained it properly and ngl i thought kirara was a girl too when i read the manga but apparently i brush it off as translation issue all this time

Dovydas Pilka

no i think it was 5 days or maybe 6 or 7 now

DRACO

The 3 minute video YouTube should be fine to watch cause it's short.

thewizardninja

The best argument I've heard for this is that Hakari is explicitly straight and very much not into men and yet is also clearly in a sexual relationship with Kirara. On the other hand, maybe Hakari's just the type to simply think "if it looks like a woman then it is one" regardless of what they think, because I know those people exist. At the end of the day it doesn't actually matter to the story and the answer isn't stated explicitly so it can only be up to interpretation, so what's the point in arguing about it?

thewizardninja

When it comes to The Southern Cross, while the cross itself has 4 main stars a fifth one is usually associated with it because it's close-by (visually at least) and very bright.

charlymoon

People use chapter 181 to say that Hakari doesn't like men, I understand why they say that but the issue is that we can't take that single line as evidence because the translation isn't reliable why is it not reliable? the japanese dialog is "野郎と 観覧車乗る ハメになってよ" (Yarō to kanran-sha noru hame ni natte yo) which could be translated as "I got stuck riding a Ferris wheel with a jerk", Hakari uses "Yarou" which could easily mean "bastard" or "jerk" and also "guy", of course the english translators took this and localized as "Who wants to ride a ferris with a dude" or something like that and people took it as if Hakari doesn't like men but again is an interpretation issue I read these chapters in spanish and at first I didn't know why bring up chapter 181 at all since in spanish the dialog was translated as "After all I got stuck riding the ferris with a jackass" while the spanish is more close to the actual translation "yarou" could easily mean a lot of things even taking context into consideration so it can't be enough evidence of Hakari not liking men, if anything he could just mean that he doesn't want to ride with "Any other" dude if you want to take the meaning as that

Lusanagi

It's "they" in the subs because they is a neutral pronoun that people have used for ever and the original lines arent gendered. Regardless of whether you insist on calling her a man, the subs arent "adding or misappropriating" anything. Would you rather the subs say Kirara every time even if the characters arent saying it?

Lusanagi

@Ryan obviously its not the most important thing ever but the story clearly implies that she is a woman; so I see it similar to like someone going around insisting that Gojo has more total cursed energy than Yuta, its just plain misinformation regardless of the reason so I will leave a comment explaining why thats not the case, very simple. In this case, the misinformation clearly stems from people's aversion to the concept of someone changing their gender expression so I think its fair to call that out.

thewizardninja

I appreciate this clarification of the original lines. Duped by translators making shit up... again.

Michael

No, it is very clearly stated that when he says what Jujutsu could be they are literally talking about Jujutsu. For a group of people that is all about not assuming genders and sexuality y’all sure do love to assume when it fits your narrative.

Michael

He is just a gay cross dresser, stop assuming his gender. Let gay people who like to look cute exist. Stop the femboy hate.

TrySky

Idk why I didn’t rlly enjoy this episode it felt pretty mid for a jjk episode. Maybe it’s just because they cliffhangered a Hakari vs Yuji fight then gave us Itadori doing his best Thorfinn impersonation for a few minutes.

Lusanagi

As a fan of otokonoko characters, I think its disingenuous to say none of the characters that fall into that category would be considered girls; and I think Kirara is firmly on the side of being considered a woman. She clearly differs from the usual trope. (Also plenty of real life Japanese trans women call themselves otokonoko for a variety of reasons but that's besides the point) Everything you said about the text is correct but the subtext and gege's intentions makes me think differently. Why would Kirara or Hakari never ever mention it, why would it not get a proper explanation or clarification, why would Gege only make panda mention it in passing? Also considering Hakari's clash with the conservative faction, it makes the most sense to me that Gege is implying that Kirara is a woman now. Even though I disagree, I cant hold it against you as you clearly made up your mind using overall facts and not "hurr durr shes a man because I heard that in a tiktok", so have a good day.

charlymoon

I think it isn't mentioned because they wanted to leave it open to interpretation, I'm not really a fan of authors doing that but it's kinda common for them to do it usually because of issues with the editors/publishers, stuff like this could easily been solved if it were officially stated in a character sheet or something like that other than that I agree with you, it's true that an "Otokonoko" could be a woman too I was just trying to avoid using the oldschool word "trap" lol

Stavik96

5:27 I looked away for a moment and I'll be real, I did not hear COG.

David R.

Heya, I'd like for you to consider, that people who just "like to cross-dress" don't train their voices to sound like the other gender, like Kirara did. Shit takes so much effort to do ^^

charlymoon

I think that would be debatable, usually otokonoko characters already have cute or feminine voices but that doesn't mean they wouldn't train their voices if they had to, a lot of this characters like to look and feel cute after all

Kindyh Bordat

Sorry i ain't into american bullshit

Kindyh Bordat

We understand lil bro, people can't complain anymore

the meme gamer

No because when they met tengentl they had 10 days left then getting to hakari took another day. 19-9= 10 so it's been 10 days since the cullingames began

Shane

WAS a guy not is. Literally also using gender neutral pronouns entire episode so not sure why you felt compelled to lie

Shane

WAS a guy. And San is gender neutral so at a bare minimum calling them a guy is just wrong

charlymoon

I didn't lie at all tho, I gave the full reasoning behind my statement, also those "gender neutral" pronouns are again an English only thing, crunchyroll doing whatever they want is nothing new, the characters only refer to him as "Kirara" and nothing else

thewizardninja

My last 2 cents on this. Generally, when it comes to authors leaving this sort of thing ambiguous, my interpretation errs on the side of whatever would make them need to make it ambiguous. Astolfo is very clearly stated to be a male identifying crossdresser, as is Felix, as is Kanzaki, and most otokonoko that fit that category are clearly defined when they're in that category. When it comes to trans characters though the closest to a confirmation you'll ever see will be lines like "I have the heart of a woman" because it's difficult in Japan to get approval for making an openly trans character. Back in the day, authors had to employ similar workarounds for characters that were meant to be gay when they couldn't just say that outright. So, when faced with a character like this, and there's nothing either way, I assume based on the lack of confirmation that it's the thing they aren't being allowed to confirm. That doesn't mean it's correct, sometimes this sort of thing isn't confirmed because the author really just didn't even think there'd be confusion about it, but it's how I operate.

charlymoon

that's a good reasoning, I respect it just to be clear I wouldn't mind at all if Kirara was indeed a trans girl, I just really believe that it is not the case based on the reasoning I provided trans deserve respect and representation of course but so do man that like to cross-dress and to be cute

ZeroShonen

Another person already made this clarification, but I think it is necessary to do it again, just for the sake of not implementing our own ideologies in foreign media, and no, this is not being transphobic nor something like that, it just means to treat the original source as it was intended according to their national culture, and understanding different aspects that we are not used to see on our own side of the world. That being said: 1- Kirara is a man. Panda made the clarification before for the same reason that Kirara is presented with a female appearance. 2- There has never been an official statement, description, or any official media that describes Kirara as anything other than a male, nor even Gege (the author, fucking stupid Cat, I love u and I hate you) said anything regarding that matter. 3- The main reason why the debate about Kirara being a "trans-woman" is due to 2 reasons: 1- The relationship between Kirara and Hakari, and 2- The looks of Kirara. 4- Another extra thing, might be the use of "neutral pronouns" used sometimes when talking about Kirara; however, these neutral pronouns are sometimes used for anyone in the manga, sometimes due to translation errors, other times a good translation, but the context of conversation makes it obvious who they are talking about, not necessarly to avoid the use of a gender. 5- People tend to forget something that has existed forever (almost) in animes/mangas: The cross/dressers, ambiguous gender characters, heavily gender looking and acting characters that still identify as their opposite gender, and so on. 6- There are instances where characters like Kirara are left without confirmation of gender due to mostly 2 things: 1- Japan audience, which is the target audience of any Japanese manga/anime (keep in mind, Japan does not make manga/anime with the intent of making it for foreigners, that has been clear forever, but people still tend to forget it or deny it) they just are like "Oh, an Otokonoko (male acting like woman), great!" or 2- "Maybe a trans, but better not confirm this" 7- This is where the debate starts. People are claiming with cape and sword that Kirara is a Trans, or a male, which I understand in some way the urge for some to apply a tag to the character, either by ideologies, agenda, customs, tradition, etc. However, as a fan of anime for over 25 years, my personal opinion on this is that the best way to treat a character like Kirara will always be just: "What's the official gender of the character? X-Gender? Okay cool. Sooo it's an X-Gender character that acts like an X-Gender character, and some in that universe threaten them as X-Gender and others see them as X-Gender... Cool, then X-Character is neither X-Gender nor X-Gender; they are simply X-Character, officially being X-Gender, but still, they are X-Character". Why? Because there is no need to categorize these characters, those were created with an intention in mind that ONLY the author knows, NO ONE knows the real intention, and without real understanding and official confirmation of it, the best approach to it is just by treating the characters by what they are... the character itself. 8- Finally, I'm going to give y'all l 2 very good examples of X-Characters that you might need to consider: 1- Opera-San (Mairimashita! Iruma-kun) and Najimin (Komi-San Can't Communicate). Both are originally presented as what you will assume as "males", but there has never been a confirmation of it. So their sane fandom only refers to them as what they are: "Opera-San is Opera-San" and "Najimi is Najimi", anything else doesn't matter, what matters is the character and their story, and if the gender does not really matter, then it does not matter. There are plenty of trans-characters in anime, but not all of them follow the same rules; some characters are just them, the character, and the gender does not really matter. Do not categorize people, do not categorize characters. Treat them as what they are. If there is confirmation, COOL!!, if there isn't, THAT'S COOL TOO!", not everything has a hidden meaning, and if it does, you won't know it, it is only a headcannon, and the headcannons tbh, are what always become toxic in communities. Sooo, at the end. Officially? Kirara is a male. For the understanding and acceptance of the character? Kirara is Kirara; anything else does not matter. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

ZeroShonen

I truly agree that the headcanons of people become a problem when they want to make it the real canon; the discussion needs to be made, but always with a respectful tone and being open to different opinions. Seeing your comment made me want to put mine up there 2, even if it was long as fuck, but since there might be new anime fans watching Luke in here, it's better if they understand these things sooner rather than later

Antony

Straight facts right there

Finelia Braun

My best friend is a fem boy, she is NOT.

Finelia Braun

I care because I am trans and of course there are more important topics but hell we are all watching fuckin Anime? There are more important things to too as well, so either stop watching unimportant stuff yourself or live with people complaining about transphobic behavior. It is really difficult enough to live in these times, I wish the fans of anime at least would know and love the things they consume but nah. Same in the One Piece Fandom, everywhere fucking idiots who don't understand what they are reading/watching...

Nikkelz

if your trying to request/suggest a series, movie or misc video your best bet is to post in the comments on related stuff. post comments on YT under related reactions videos, comments here or you can jump into the livechat and shoutout what you are hoping he might watch. You CAN DM him on patreon and he gets around to reading those direct messages once in a while but don't expect any request to be taken unless other people are also jumping on the bandwagon~ gotta get the hype moving for w/e you want.

patros36

lmao i just realized this is the same guy that hated on the previous two episodes, saying "as a manga reader" they were "disappointing". Bro just wants to hate so bad but the episodes are too good so he can't even explain why properly.

Shane

1. Already wrong on this point. Panda clarified that she WAS a man, not is

ZeroShonen

Shane, I made 8 full explained points in my comment, and you decided to try to refute only the first one, not only that, but your argument is based on a sole reaching interpretation of the phrase that was said. This is exactly what I'm talking about headcanons tbh, you just used a personal interpretation of the conversation so it could be on your point, without taking into consideration the verbal time used on it + context of conversation (which would nullify your argument based on reading comprehension), but alright I guess

Ozzie

i personally didn't want to engage with this comment, as the way you opened your points seems too set on dismissing the thought of trans representation. firmly stating "Kirara is a man" completely dismisses all the work her character has put into passing as feminine, and the author's decision to explicitly keep things ambiguous 'at most'. i figured it would be too hard to hold a discussion in good faith with someone who seemingly holds bigoted worldviews, but i wanted to add additional context, for anyone with an open mind to consider. Panda confirmed that Kirara was assigned male at birth, and this scene provides a visual which shows that she has clearly made an effort to change her gender appearance. this show of 'change' is quite different from typical otokonoko characters who are naturally very feminine in appearance, and lean into that already present trait. Panda shows that Kirara WAS masculine appearing, but since rejecting the higher ups' oppressive conservatism, she has now CHANGED to become more feminine passing, both in voice and appearance. Kirara does not need to inform anybody and everybody she meets of her gender identity, she has already gone through the process of changing in ways that show people how she wants to be perceived. by interpreting Kirara as a woman, i am simply picking up what she is putting down.

ZeroShonen

Tbh, first of all Ozzie, I will answer your comment and your argument, but I will take the liberty of taking your comment as a personal offense for this part: "i figured it would be too hard to hold a discussion in good faith with someone who seemingly holds bigoted worldviews, but i wanted to add additional context, for anyone with an open mind to consider." Tolerance is practice at home mate. Assuming other people "holds bigoted worldviews" is one of the reasons why is so tiring to try to keep a conversation on these subjects, just because another person does not want to fall under the colaborative narrative of a headcanon for a minority group does not mean they have "bigoted worldviews" nor a "closed mind". What you might know about that person? They might be even part of the community, the might have a partner that is part of the community, maybe their best friend is, maybe a lof their friends are, maybe they march in pro of the mintory rights, who knows? And yeah, I used personal situations for those example scenarios, no need to clarify which ones, I'll let to the imagination. Groups are often heavily stating: "respect, inclusion, tolerance, don't assume, don't categorize, etc", but more often than not, it is the total opposite when facing reality. Fortunately not everyone, and those that are not like that, are the ones worth the shot to offer a hand. Anyway, The reason why I don't think I was "dismissing trans representation" it's because I was not making a personal opinion, but stating a fact made by the canon of the source material (as I mentioned before). If in the canon Kirara was presented as a Woman, a trans or whatever, I would have used the same firm statement for that. The only work Gege put into Kirara's backstory or representation, was to actually in the presentation of the character, which can pretty much be summarize in "Kirara is a male but don't follow conservative standards" And this not only happens to Kirara, Gege never cares to explore secondary characters outside of the original purpose he made them for, which is something that I hate, but it happens, every, single, time. And for that same reason, fans are often focused on creating their own headcanon to fill the narrative gaps on potentially great stories that are left untold. For sure Kirara made a changed on the looks, but does that mean that it's because wants to be seen as feminine? Does it really? Clothes are just clothes, not following conservatory customs might also apply to just wear clothes intented for the other gender just for the sake of doing it, preference, etc. Does it HAVE to mean anything else? Nope. Can it mean anything else? Sure. Kirara doesn't really care what nor how other's besides Hakari perceive Kirara. Your final point was "by interpreting Kirara as a woman, i am simply picking up what she is putting down.", do we really? Or are we just assuming what the narrative holes might have with what we want to believe for the sake of categorizing a character to fill what we might want to use as a representation of whatever group we might want to support? (Cuz we could use Kirara for non-binary tbh) Aren't we falling under the same prejudices that old conservatives people claimed? Just because it's more "open minded" doesn't mean it's not on the same poor and enclosed mentality to force a tag into someone, even though there is no confirmation of it, but since if fits our believes, views, and narrative, it's okay (?) Because, let's be honest, a lot of people might be using Kirara for a representation of a non-binary character, and being realistic, with the lack of confirmation on the canon, being a non-binary character would fit way more than a trans character. Or do we deny that possibility too since it does not fit our preferences? Being honest, I do not care if Kirara is a trans, male, woman, non-binary, alien, curse, yokai, etc. Because at the end, it does not really matter, Kirara is Kirara, but I hate when trying to use a character to fit a social scream of inclusion EVEN is that same inclusion is just based on headcanons and might affect the same group more than it would help them And to be fair, Kirara can be named as male or female or neutral for all I care, however, people that their argument is "Why I speak about them in female? Cuz they look like one, that's it", have a better approach to the character than those that try to categorize him/her/they. Cuz they don't really put a tag, just go with a simple solution, same happens with "Ah, I called him "he" cuz it was said was a male". (Same happens to those who just call Kirara as Kirara) Your preference to speak about the character in whatever gender is totally valid in some ways, that doesn't mean that others are wrong, but trying to justify and probably denying that others are "open minded" cuz they seem to "hold bigoted worldviews" just cuz they dont fit your narrative, and you end up doing what can only be considered as the current representation of the same things that are complained, it's a little crazy tbh

MonographicSingleheaded

I can honestly without shadow of doubt say this season is Bleach level of production. 10/10 omg so beautiful ! :)

Nyarlathotep

Wow I'm slow. Took me halfway through this episode to realize hakari is zoro.

The Pots

Kindyh Bordat people can still complain except when the complaints are dumb

The Pots

Finelia Braun. check the wiki li'l bro. it's stated that he's a Male "Jujutsu Kaisen Manga and Anime: Chapter 154 (p. 2) and Episode 52, (According to Panda)"

Dethrox

didnt expect anything else in the comment section :D good one guys

zee kth

guys kirara is clearly a woman, and anyone who says otherwise is either transphobic or just has zero media literacy (things in media don't have to be spelled out explicitly for it to be true. i assume everyone here is old enough to use critical thinking) but the fun thing abt the great kirara discourse is that either way, gege is so woke for that. if people believe that kirara is a woman, great! trans rep! if people believe kirara is a man, great! bisexual hakari! we love our woke king gege

idkwhy

Thank you, Zero Shonen, you nailed it.

Danny S.

gege confirmed Kirara is man :)

Junichirō☆

I just call Kirara "They" because they seem to be in a relationship with Hakari but later in the manga I remember Hakari mentioning something that implies he likes women and not so much men. Could be wrong tho Gege didn't leave us with much to go off of. I just think it doesn't matter either way and people fighting over this is plain stupid.
