I'm not sure how common it actually is in Japan, but you'll see calvary battles pretty often in high school anime, usually for sports festivals and other events like that. I assume it's pretty much like how we (or at least where I'm from) always have a field day every year where we do a big tug-of-war competition.

In case you missed it - the guy who can turn into steel is called Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, which literally translates to "Iron-iron Iron-iron" Other people have pun names too - Baku from Bakugo means bomb, Midori from Midoriya means green, Ashido (pink girl) sounds like acid, Denki literally means electricity, etc, but Tetsutetsu's name is really on the nose Also the guy you thought was invisible here: 23:09 - he's not invisible - the speech bubble is his head. His name is literally "Manga"

Luke usually doens't remember names or faces, but here he is, remembering that Deku's father has a fire quirk :') And, I saw people said this already in the comments of other episodes, so don't know if you consider it a spoiler, but the Deku's father part has never been used in the manga/anime... One of the few disapointment in this manga, like you speak of him at the start and then he disappears and nobody talk about him ever again !...

I believe when All-Might said that his desire to help people would be a weakness, I don't think he meant a weakness for villains to exploit, but his desire to help people would stop him from climbing over other heroes and reaching the top.

Happens every time I watch this series. Whenever Deku starts talking himself down and now acknowledging just how great he is, I choke up a bit. Kid has such low self-esteem but continues to push through it to succeed.

In case you didn't notice it yet, but Yaoyorozu produces the items through her skin. That is why her hero outfit is quite revealing. If she would make something big, it would ether have to go through her clothes or get stuck inside them. So to make those cannons, it would be understandable for her to open the jacket to expose more surface area.

That's not entirely true. In fact, all of the "tetsu"s in his name are written with different kanji, and thus have 4 different meanings, only one of them being "Iron".

Alright, Luke, I get that you're a fanboy, and I don't wanna harsh your buzz, but maybe cool it down with the Deku dick-riding. He was absolutely right that he (mostly) lucked out, because for all intents and purposes, nobody could predict that his plan wouldn't end with him faceplanting into the ground with his teeth scattered around everywhere. It's not like he had any control over the force with which he would've been propelled in the air.

Technically he does 3 MHA a week, just split up. He does Avatar all at the same time but only once a week. So it kinda evens out

He's not. He's calling him "Ka-chan" which is short for Katsuki, his actual given name, and it's what Deku always calls him so that's what Luke hears "Ka-chan Ka-chan Ka-chan" and never his actual name Bakugo Katsuki.

Realistically Deku only won the race due to plot, Bakugo should've won without any competition, they only made him win, to make him a target for the next game.

I like his theory of deku’s dad being a pro hero who is todoroki’s dad lmao 😭 in that case, deku and his mom somehow thought he disappeared despite him being very famous and a hero.

Yaoyorozu unzipped her shirt because of her quirk. I don't think the show has gone into complete detail about her power, but it has stated that she can create objects from her body as long as she knows the composition and how it works. The objects literally erupt from her body when created. That is why her costume has so little covering and why she unzipped her shirt. It would have been shredded after she formed the cannon that was next to her. Deku's father was stated to have a quirk that allows him to breathe fire in episode 1. Also, his mother has a quirk that allows her to pull small objects towards herself, also mentioned in episode 1.

Loving Hatsume's introduction with her Attack On Titan gear for an obstacle race, I'd forgotten that... The cavalry battle is easy enough to understand once you see it. Judging from other school-based anime I've seen, I think it's a fairly standard event for Japanese school sports days.

It's so hard seeing Deku always putting himself down, denying his hard work, always seeing himself as lesser just because he is always comparing himself to everyone else. He never lets himself take the win. He just can't or wont let himself see is on greatness.

There are parts of MHA that work a lot better with paired episodes because this anime can be pretty insane with its cliffhangers. And I don't even think of this as one of those moments xD I doubt your schedule allows it, but if you have a mod or something who has already seen MHA that could tell you what episodes to pair, it might be worth doing something like that, because this show has a lot of 2(ish) episode... I'll call them "events", like how the obstacle course is eps 2 and 3. Just tends to be a recurring pacing thing in the show. Maybe even just for youtube uploads as I see a LOT of reactors pair up MHA eps, although I don't really know if they do that because it matters or just because. Regardless, glad you're enjoying it, even if predicting that you'd love this arc was about the easiest thing in history lol

Momo looks like she's stripping but she really isn't, she has the ability to "create" things on a molecular level, and thus, needs to read and understand how things are made on a molecular level and by structure. The reason why she has exposed skin is because her ability to create does not come from thin air, but rather she converts lipid fats from her own body into completely different atoms and molecules. In other words, her entire body is like an Alchemy workbench/cauldron that can convert her fat cells into anything in the periodic table. Because of this, she also has to stuff herself with fatty food, but don't worry, she's good at staying in shape, and her quirk will use up her fat. 9:00 just about everyone at UA has a quirk, its just that this girl, like some others, belong to Classes that do not focus on combat or rescue, but are more "supportive". They are split into "Support" and "Business" groups. In her case, she made these support items herself. This makes things more fair for students with non-combat related quirks that help them "survive", even defensively or survive even in an environment without villains.

Originally Deku wasn't going to have ANY quirk, like at all, not even inheriting one, so this obstacle race feels like what could have been and I'd love to keep seeing him just figuring stuff out and beating all odds in as a quirkless dude, but at least we got All Might! l love him too and couldn't see the story without him now
