hell yeah, I couldn't catch the stream last night but im so hyped for this, the final fight is definitely done better in the anime (and is easily one of the best anime fights of all time) but since its my first time seeing the movie it was still pretty good. the later arcs in boruto are genuinely so good. i do really wish you would watch the boruto canon since ik you would love it but there are many toxic people that hate it despite never seeing the canon (I do agree that the filler is pretty bad tho)

Naruto isn't just the Hokage of the leaf, he's basically the Hokage of the world, he's the saviour of the world, and created world peace, and he's so powerful, nobody can test him, it's like if a country was the only one with a nuke. So Naruto probably has a lot more on his plate than the other Hokage's. Also the other Hokage was notorious for being so busy and not having enough time for their loved ones, the third Hokage is a perfect example. Also Naruto grew up without a father figure, he doesn't know the importance of a birthday, since he never had anyone celebrate his. It's no wonder he doesn't know how to be a great father.

im ngl, luke thinking naruto is the only one at fault (or at least the main one at fault) for boruto cheating is insane. you can think that naruto caused boruto to do what he did (which to some degree is very true i admit) but someone cheating and breaking the rules obviously knows its the wrong thing to do. like if boruto committed a crime luke would probably say the same thing as well. bending laws and rules just to benefit someone because they are your child would be pretty bad parenting imo. yes its harsh that naruto did that, but if it was literally anyone else that cheated he would have treated them the exact same. And i know that if someone else cheated and naruto disqualified them luke would not blame naruto.

Really glad you're reacting to this. I've seen other channels reacting to Naruto stop at the end of Shippuden, leaving out Boruto because of the possibility they might come back and do the actual anime, but if you're not going into it immediately, I feel like the Boruto movie is the best stopping point. Otherwise, you don't even get to actually see Naruto as Hokage. Besides, in all likelihood, they'll probably forget a lot of it by the time they get to Boruto, if they ever do.

While growing up Naruto didn't have a role model on how to be a father in a household environment. He learned that the village is the most important thing: He saw the third hokage dying doing it, he heard about what his father did, Tsunade saved a lot of people in Pain arc, Itachi sacrificed his life for the village. He's being a parent for the greater good, he just need to be a better father at home, so I think this profile of a "bad parent" unfortunatelly suits him, not because he is a bad person, but because he doesn't know better.

I think that a lot of people miss some important points when it comes to Naruto being a "bad father". 1) The village is way bigger, with many more non-shinobi with a lot more businesses, and a lot more bureaucracy, which equals a lot more administrative duties than with any other Hokage. and 2)Naruto is trying to live up to all of the promises he made to so many people that he would be the greatest Hokage (although I doubt he ever thought it would mean as much bureaucracy as it turned out to be lol), and 3) Naruto’s general practice as a Hokage is to use his real body for official duties (in office), especially those requiring legal or formal authorization. He deploys Shadow clones for tasks that are repetitive, mundane, or logistically suitable, but anything involving official documentation or sensitive decisions necessitates Naruto’s personal attention. This approach ensures that Naruto maintains the responsibility and presence in the office expected of the Hokage. and 4) The most important reason people misunderstand Naruto being a workaholic is that this IS a Japanese anime, and Japanese culture is far different from other cultures in the West. While family is a high priority in Japan, in the business world, it is expected that you make sacrifices for your job. It is frowned upon not to go above and beyond. You lose respect and jeopardize your position, pay, and prospects for promotion. and 5) Naruto doesn't have a frame of reference for fatherhood, which is limited. He never got to see what it is to be a father full-time in everyday life. 6) PLUS, this is Naruto we are speaking about. The guy who needs to be hit over the head a few times to drill into that thick skull of his any reference to normal social interactions. Look what had to happen for Naruto to realize that what he felt for Hinata was romantic love. LOL As you see during the movie, he comes to understand that he needs to make more of an effort to balance things. That's called character growth. What most people hope for in a story. And the way he is at the beginning of the movie is him being true to the character we always knew. He has always prioritized being a shinobi. One more thing- the relationship between them is realistic for many families. No parent or child is perfect. It's how you overcome that and grow that's important. This story is reminiscent of Kisimoto's own family situation. He said so himself.

Lets be honest boruto in this movie isn't as insufferable as in the show my real problem with it was the nerfs and characterization. I hate the aliens who they say are stronger than kaguya but they really aren't. I hate the nerfs. The naruto and sasuke who fought each toher would've bodied them. And finally the character assassination of naruto making him a shit father and person after wanting a family for years. And you are seriously telling me the whole village would put itself in danger for his wedding but one person couldn't do paperwork for him on his daughters birthday yeah okay. And this isn't fixed in the show either.

Love or hate the anime canon, one thing that the anime canon does pretty well is paint a more complete picture of Naruto's responsibilities as Hokage that Boruto doesn't see or understand. Boruto sees Naruto as only a paper pusher and a mission assigner. He doesn't see the threats that the shinobi world is facing that Naruto needs to be focused on. Naruto is an administrator and diplomat; he has to be involved with financing, legal issues, and foreign affairs; he's got to regulate and administrate the growth of the village; he's the head of the shinobi in the village and everything that entails; but most of all he has to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone in not only the village and country but there are world threats that he has to deal with. Boruto doesn' understand this and is acting his age which is understandable. Naruto definitely could have helped Boruto understand the real and complete duties of his job as Hokage.

I think it makes perfect sense Naruto is a shit dad. He isn't intentionally shit at it, but he didn't have parents, so he's figuring it out on his own, and every Hokage has been super dedicated to the village above all else. Combined with the fact that Naruto is basically the Hero of the world, there's tons of pressure and expectations on him. I think the main issue though is his over reliance on Shadow Clones. It lets him do tons of things at once, but the issue is that when a clone ends, he also gets all their memories, as well as all the mental fatigue from each life. So he's living dozens, or maybe even hundreds, of different lives every single day, so his ability to keep track of dates and time is going to be completely fucked with that many lives at once, and he's as extremely exhausted as he is because he's living so many lives at once, and too stubborn to actually sleep and recover, so he's in a constant state of exhaustion. So he forgets about important dates for his kids, not maliciously, but because of everything else he's also experiencing. He tries to be there through clones, but the kids know they're clones and resent the fact the real him doesn't attend, even if the clone acts exactly like him, and Naruto still gains all the memories as if he was there.

A lot of people hate Boruto because of how Naruto is portrayed as a dad, and the fact that the anime has insane amounts of filler. I can't blame people, but I think if you give the series a chance, it's genuinely not bad.

@G.O.T GAMES Luke, Boruto is named after his uncle Neji. Neji's name in Japanese means screw, and Boruto's name means bolt. Boruto's sister is also named for Neji. The name Himawari means "sunflower," which was Neji's favorite flower.

Glad to bounced on this movie. I remember seeing it a long time ago and hating it, but I tried to give it another watch. I had to leave to get dinner and was more happy doing that. Boruto the anime will be a skip for me because I already watched 100 episodes and was bored out of my mind.

Caught a little bit of the stream when it was live but couldn't watch the whole thing so I was super excited to see it here already this morning! Really enjoyed the reaction. I had very similar feelings about Naruto's parenting when I first watched it. It's one of those things where I can sort of see both sides of it, but it doesn't make it any better or give him any real excuse for being absent the way he is. The fight at the end is even better in the anime imo, but it's still a lot of fun in the movie, too! I'm happy that you enjoyed it! And Naruto in general. Well, the fight against Momoshiki was incredibly underwhelming... Just so you know, they redid the whole movie in the Boruto anime and it's by far a better fight, you could check it out if you ain't gonna do a full reaction to Boruto's anime, Momoshiki looked so weird here, it was my first time watching the movie but I didn't know the fight was different so I was expecting the same from the anime which was way better!

You could skip boruto fillers and watch just the main episodes... Even tho some people dont like boruto, there is 4-5 main battles that are very close candidates to be the best in all the franchise so far, including the one from the movie that they remade better and with different design and choreography, a LOT better than the movie. In fact, you could watch at least the episode of this fight separated from the rest, since you already watched the movie.

i am a bit disappointed that no one in chat told luke to watch ep 65 boruto instead of the fight from the movie. For anyone wondering, boruto ep 65 is 100% same as the momoshiki boruto fight from movie but it has waaaaay more fighting scenes and it's more polished. If possible for luke to react to ep 65 that would be great

The series itself would have to be voted for episodes to be viewed, telling Luke "go skip to episode X of boruto" is not condusive to a stream for movies. While it may have more scenes and more detail it'll have to wait for it to get a proper spot.

Honestly I love the fight at the end and sometimes rewatch it on youtube but the movie and the new series is just not for me. To me the story concluded and I was happy with how it ended. Also I refuse to believe that this is what Naruto would actually become. Someone who grew without a family and had to resort to pranks to get any attention at all, went through all he went and then hes just THE WORST? NAH. I dont buy it. Cant even make it to his daughter bday? Thats so bullshit. Even the 3rd who was also the worst (considering all he didnt do, that Minato asked him to) made time to be with EVERYONE. Watched naruto (didnt do shit but at least watched), helped Hiruka, Konahamaru and basically every kid in the village. Naruto not even going home and leaving the clone at work? It would still be awful, but less so. Its just shitting on the character. AND THEN the movie has the balls to say "oh but he went through so much, see Boruto? He suffered so much!! its totally OK for him to be THE WORST now! be proud of him!! even though he is a shit parent!!"... nah. I dont buy it. The kid is 100% right.

The anime actually adapts this movie into an arc and it's even better than the movie. It has additional plot points and it expands on things and fixes the pacing. And the anime also has a few novel arcs and spinoff manga arcs before that (as well as some filler arcs but we don't need to talk about that) and those early arcs do a great job properly introducing and setting up the characters and their stories and relationships. Can't wait for you to react to the anime, whenever that will be. And yeah, there are sadly a lot of filler but if you skip it it's a great anime and the manga is even better.

You should do Boruto alongside One Piece. Make sure to do the manga and anime canon episodes. There are definitely some mixed canon/filler episodes too. There is a list online, but definitely watch episodes 1-15 to meet the characters.

Such a great story. I watched Boruto series and it is awesome in many moments but sometimes quality is quite low, like they were just printing episodes for the quantity. However seeing these highs in Boruto is something that I would like to rewatch for the first time

i understand your take nikkelz but i am talkin about 1:1 same scenes but we have more taijutsu combat, sasuke using more his rinnengan in that same exact fighting scenes. On a technicality you are 100% correct, but we're humans @_@. we understand the nuances of: "here is the movie just extended fighting choreography scenes". Movie part was like 15 min and anime episode was like 20 minutes. so we talk about '5 minutes' extra and not an entire episode. If adding 5 more minutes fails as a technicality then whatever. I regret not being there as I could've convinced q_q

idk if you are ever going to watch boruto, I watched it without filler and it is actually good, the anime is overhated and the reason behind that you can already see in the ending of this movie, they dont like the fact its centered around boruto, they only want naruto, but if you like this world the anime without filler is pretty good, and I think it will get even better soon when it gets resumed.

I'm sure you're going to cover it at some point when doing major anime but my humble recommendation when it comes to dbz is to 1, watch dbz Kai. Its the HD remake/ recut so similar to FMA and FMA brothood where they just cut filler an make it more true to the manga. And 2, watch the dub. DBZ dub is amazing and one of the first major anime to have a truly successful dub adaptation. Its along the lines of FMA in that regard.

If you ever watch Boruto, treat it like is Canon Events but the story is not narrated by the original Author, what i mean is... if you stop at the surface level is REALLY GOOD (skip the fillers), but if you start to analize the details you're going to find odd things that a lot of people dislike (i don't because i don't care). For me honestly i grew up with Naruto, literally, today im 30 and i took Boruto as a fun way to keep watching Naruto and Sasuke fighting bad guys, i didn't care too much about the story, only stopping at the surface level, and i really enjoy it

I'm sad that you watched this movie instead of starting the anime and watching the anime version of this but it's okay lol. Please don't let people brainwash you into thinking the anime is bad. People on the internet think that an anime is bad just because they didn't like it but if you actually ever decide to watch it with an open mind you'll see it's not bad at all. I started watching it immediately after Naruto Shippuden cause I really liked the world of Naruto, at that time I didn't follow anything anime related in social media so I didn't have any clue about the anime being good or bad, but I ended up loving Boruto and I'm now caught up to the manga. The filler is really bad though you can skip it, but the anime original content they added is nice, and the manga canon even better.

Yeah I actually agree. I haven't watched the anime, and unfortunately I only watched the first 10 or so episodes as they aired and later dropped it. I instead read the manga, and while not perfect, it's still a fun read. Then the anime started to adapt the manga and I tuned into some of those episodes and they're also pretty fun. I wish they started with the manga canon stuff to put their best foot forward, but it is what it is. Funny enough, my favourite arc that the anime covered was the one with the dinosaurs (It's actually canon if you would believe it, but the uninformed used it as an example that the Boruto anime was bad).

You can literally see it and you question it, The leaf is almost 3 times it size as any other Hokage, all nations are friendly so he has to do more with them, technology is advancing at a high rate so yeah Naruto has waaaaay more than any other hokage in his plate

CR anime are done on rumble atm not on twitch. you can tell the difference by the chat icons. but if you want to know what platform hes on day to day check the schedules on the youtube community page or the discord.
