I don't usually leave these reactions feeling bummed, but this one did it. Guess I'm very dumb for not guessing the twist before it was revealed, lol. But yeah, I love that Naruto gets to see his parents even if they're not really his. But man oh man does it bother me that they both hit him. It's "normal" in this culture, I suppose, which is why that stuff continues later on as well, but it will always leave a sour taste in my mouth.

Movie is non-canon so don't think about it too deeply. Mostly it was just a movie to bring back the Akatsuki, and to have a Naruto & Kurama vs Evil Naruto & Kurama fight. I can try to explain it though. So you know what Genjutsu is right? Illusion and mental tricks. Like how Itachi early on could trap people in an alternate world and torture them for centuries, but a second passes in the real world? It's like that, except the Tsukuyomi traps you in your perfect ideal world. Obito somehow makes a prototype Tsukuyomi. Makes no sense, but non-canon so don't question it. Plan is to trap Naruto in there, then while he's isolated, steal Kurama. However Sakura ends up next to Naruto while it's triggered which fucks everything up. Tsukuyomi is meant to put everyone individually into their ideal world, but two people caught in the same spell means there's conflicts. Sakura entering while pissed and her parents and wishing they weren't around, and Naruto being upset his parents died and 'abandon' him, and wishing they hadn't sacrificed themselves also led to them swapping places. In a true tsukuyomi that wouldn't have happened, but them both being there leads to weirdness like that, or like people with opposite personalities. It also results in unintended consequences. For example, Naruto's ideal world would probably have his dad as Hokage, but not dying. However since the dream swapped him and Sakura, it created a new reason for his dad surviving, which is he's risk adverse. Same thing happens with Sasuke. Naruto thinks he's a dick, Sakura wants him to love her, and it creates womanizer Sasuke. All the discrepancies, plus them having each other there as references, mean they never 'believe' the world is real the way a real Tsukuyomi would make them believe it, and lets them focus on escaping. As for Obito, he's not in the Genjutsu so he's not there, but as it's creator and a Sharingan user he can still tap into the dream world in that force ghost kind of form. Again, it's non-canon so don't think too deeply about why he can kind of interact with the world, or how the illusions somehow appeared briefly in reality.

I know know how chat came up with that, but that world was a created world by the limited Tsukuyomi, using real world as a base, "Madara" Also mentioned that placing people in that mirrored world and their Will alters how that world is (not identical to real world, like how throwing rocks in water causes ripples), it works similarly to infinite Tsukuyomi, they dream of/live their best life in it.
