Cramming helps for some stuff, but if your behind all year then you cant get it all in at the last minute. It's really only good for like the kind of stuff that can be memorized on flash cards.

Sian Richardson

Japanese school year starts in April, so they've completed the first term more or less. In MHA, next is summer (not so much) vacation. EDIT: The rankings they show is how they scored on their midterms.

ShadowLion

I don't think the advice you gave about the exam was pretty good😭. Failing GCSEs means two years of wasted effort and one extra year you will waste at school.

Notora

love how you went "he clearly did that to take his quirk" and i'm just sitting here like "no he's just an asshole" XD

Pirta

The Japanese school year ends in march and starts in april and they're just about to hit summer vacation, so it's the final exam of the spring term.

Maks Lesniewski

It makes sense for Bakugo to be among the top of his class, considering he's shown he's extremely serious about his ambitions this season. He's probably pissed he's only 3rd, but the counterweight is that he's still above Deku.

Jackson

desperately need more than one episode per post/three episodes per week 😩😩 we’ve got 8 whole seasons of peak to get through, Luke!!!

Maks Lesniewski

"They won, though." Yeah, because they were high-schoolers, and Stain didn't take them seriously.

Kyle Garrett

The way school years work in Japan look is there's three semesters, with a break between each one. So it's the final exams at the end of the first semester.

Lv6 Esper

fun fact: while the whole "ora ora ora" punch rush thing is in reference to Jojo's, Jojo's was not the first to coin this style. Fist of the North Star first showed this attack style but instead of "ora ora" it was more like "atatatatatatat".

Shin

You’ve been spending the entire show boasting about how smart bakugo is and how he used his quirk, did you think he’d be dumb and clueless?

Kanna kamui

day 26 of asking for double reactions 🥲

Katerflori

Next episode is gonna be peak af if they show all the fights! Cant wait for more :D

Barack O. Llama

luke how can they be studying for their mid term exams if the mid term exam results are on your screen

Itto Sanzzo

Interesting, Luke was Rintaro Tsumugi's friend in school

Vinnick

The teacher fights are all pretty interesting, and you get to see the quirks of at least one other student that has never been shown before. But you're gonna love seeing the Principal's fight against Mina and Kaminari, heh heh heh...

Sian Richardson

It's a failure of our current school system that it does take into account that learning is a continual persuit and that everyone learns at different paces. However it's also a failure when it passes people who don't meet the standards. The good thing though is that GCSEs have a really low pass rate of 10-15% to get a grade 1 iirc. Grade 4 is just the minimum to proceed to A levels. Beyond that they won't really matter. None of time spent learning is a waste though, provided you aren't fooling around in class.

Mis6s6y6

Yeah I can see why he makes you think of Spawn 💯

Razgar_dar

The one that creates stuff is Yaoyorozu, incredibly usefull but complex quirk.

Rem is best waifu

7:01 the story how Luke lived in the world line of The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity

I never studied for tests and usually got A's. It was homework I had problems with, not that I didn't know what to do, just didn't feel like doing it a lot. I could focus just fine in class but once I got home I barely even thought about my homework. I used to always have the highest grade on my Physics tests in high school, even though i took no notes and never studied. The tests were also graded on a curve so me getting around 98-100 each time kinda made it pointless. Have a somewhat photographic memory so I just could remember what was written on the board and I can easily understand things. It reminds me of when I took a Logic course in College, everything in that class seemed so simple, yet some people were getting F's on tests. Same thing with video games, I can easily pick them up and play most but then watch videos of people playing and wonder how they miss the most basic stuff.

Spa7his

Imagine the teachers got a raise based on how fast they beat the 2 students lol

Argo Valentine

Good luck but he's got a packed schedule. Double this takes away something. Unless he does a double for a huge fight

Argo Valentine

I have a hard time believing he didn't take them seriously when his ideology is taking his job seriously unlike fake heros

Maks Lesniewski

He would fight to kill if he was fighting pros. I don't think he wanted to kill kids. Maim, maybe. He even told Iida that he should run away and not concern himself with attacking him (Stain). If he was seriously fighting to kill, he wouldn't have warned him.

TheKnightwatchOfficial

Honestly, I don't want Luke to get through this series quickly. I love MHA too much to ask him to rush it.

TheKnightwatchOfficial

I think Stain did take them seriously after he saw them fight. Iida, maybe not because he didn't see Iida as a hero, but Deku and Todoroki he saw as potential heroes.

Jackson

that’s totally fair and i def don’t want him to rush through it! but it’s just a tad frustrating wanting him to get to those best moments of the show haha and just doing some ROUGH math, at this pace it will take just under one year from now to get through season 8. and that’s without missing any days/weeks and it’s only all of the episodes, not any of the movies either.

Marc-Andre Bujold

Apart from his short fuse, Bakugo is an absolute genius in pretty much everything. Great at picking up social queues, really intelligent, incredibly gifted physically and generally picks up anything almost instantly.

davguev

That's exactly what I was thinking!

Maks Lesniewski

1. Heavy emphasis on "potential" there. 2. Since you agree that he saw them as heroes, you agree that he didn't fight to kill them, do you?

dartcp

The comment regarding the B-Class's dude should be understood in this sense: he isn't friendly—in other words, he isn't kind-hearted.

dartcp

Kacchan wants to be better than Deku—yes, that too—but his real motivation is to become the Number 1 hero. It’s not just about being better than All Might; it’s about actually surpassing him. That requires knowledge as well as strength, and Kacchan knows it. People just tend to underestimate him because of his personality.

dartcp

You might think that pairing Deku and Kacchan up is a mean move, but teamwork is more important than personal grudges. Even All Might and Endeavor would have to work together in an emergency to save people, whether they like each other or not. And that’s simply something they need to learn—or rather, something Kacchan needs to learn.

Spooky Moth

"I need help too. Let's go to the rich girl's house to party" I spit out my coffee. 😂 Best comment.

TOMfoolery

I bet that cloning teacher is actually inspired by Spawn since the Mangaka is a big comics fan

Awsmspaceball

we've seen multiple times how high of a battle IQ Bakugo has, so it wouldn't that surprising that his nornaml IQ is also high. plus that he's ofcourse very competitve in literally everything

Rainet

Bakugo cares a LOT about being the best hero, in every sense. His angryboi nature makes him easy to overlook when it comes to intelligence, but it honestly makes sense with his character. He’s an asshole, but he’s *always* been exceptional.

TalesoftheBoojum

There's an error in the subtitles of Mineta's line about stripping Midnight. It should read "I am heterosexual! I am! I am! I am! And there's definitely no unconscious reason I keep doing and saying things to repel women!" This is actually the gist of most of his lines. Happy Pride Month, everyone!

Kanna kamui

i know... but im still hopefull

Phoenix_mercury

Yeah in a real fight hero's don't get to pick to just not work with someone who's also in the fight, unless their quirks actively cancelled each other out or something

darkchaos125

1) Your yelling and screaming sometimes is seriously too loud.... 2) Kacchan being #3 is no surprise, he aced the mock test for UA, this includes written test. He was also the "representative" of their class during the UA sports festival because of his high scores.

darkchaos125

I'm still here to second the motion. I ain't giving up. Thank you for keeping it up too!

darkchaos125

Aren't we under the impression he can only take quirks from touching? Like...specifically from his hand, not his elbow?

darkchaos125

Kacchan's #3 isn't that strange. We know he scored at the top for UA from his junior high school and he aced the mock exam (which includes written exam) 11:00 I get that you're confused by "the heart" and this might be a cultural difference issue. In jp culture and anime, you see a lot of reference to "people's eyes" (their souls) and their "heart", which represents their 'inner self'. It's the "heart of the matter", or in this case, the "heart of the person" that's the issue (in other words his personality or mind) 13:45 Close but no cigar. Kacchan is not 'studying harder' to beat Deku. Deku is beneath him. From the start of the show, he was seen aggressively trying to prove himself to be #1 in general, enough to surpass All Might. In other words, he wants to surpass literally everyone. Deku was a pebble in comparison until now. Kacchan has been annoyed, shouting at Deku to "stay in his lane". 14:37 Your confusion is understandable. The word they used was "puri puri" which is similar to the word they use for Pudding. It's basically a word for "bounciness" or "jigglyness" akin to a child bouncing in excitement, which highlights Momo's innocence. 16:40 Luke's confusion about "Curry" being mentioned for "Camp" trips....goes to show he hasn't seen nearly enough high school anime. 28:00 Keep in mind when characters go "Ora ora!" or "Or-r-r-r-ra!" that is just a noise people make when fighting, and its considered "masculine" to do so as a fighter or warrior in general, its not a Jo-Jo thing.

darkchaos125

2 episodes isn't exactly "going through a series quickly" when he misses out 80% of the details.

darkchaos125

Luke complains about people scolding him in the comments but the stuff he mentions isn't even big issues. The stuff we complain about is missing stuff that is blatantly in front of him and spoon fed to him. I swear when I watch reactors, every time they look away to 'react' or 'talk' to the audience or close their eyes while doing it, they completely miss it, and pause at the worst moments (the worst part is when they don't go back 3-5 seconds) and would immediately miss what the episode was showing them. I'd see my gf look down at her phone and its during times like that, she misses small but important CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT or things that help establish character growth as well as changes by setting up the characters. People miss out a LOT on a few seconds on an episode that is only a mere 18-20 minutes. That's equiv to 1-5 pages of manga or a novel. You can't say you're 'reading' when you flip pages pretending to be reading, and that's what reactors are doing when they pause, talk, unpause while still talking and not even paying attention to the screen or subs. There's been a few rare instances where Luke would notice the subs while unpausing and then get shocked or happy his questions were answered or theories were proven correct/wrong. But 90-95% of the time, a lot of reactors have this extremely bad habit and would miss details every damn time they pause and unpause.

Fizzu_

Luke literally had experienced the whole damn Fragrant Flower plot as one of Rintaro's buddies 😭😭😭
