He realized she was going to break up with him and made up the story of finding someone else, he did that to make it easy on her not having to be the one breaking someone else hearth, he had already realized she was not into him, despite having accepted dating him.

For the 2 pianists, they both started playing because theyre inspired by watching arimas performance when he was a kid.. their style is so different from one another because they didnt watch the same performance.. ill elaborate more in a later episode to not spoil stuff. But Takeshi was japans best before Arima returned.. but now that he has returned, it sparked a fire in Emi’s performance because she is more affected by her moodswings. And now that Arima is back, her mood is top notch, higher then Takeshi’s stable performance. Thats why he got angry, cause he knew he lost that competition.

This anime has always resonated with me a lot, as someone who has been in Kousei's situation many times where the girls I was interested in are more interested in other guys. Its really difficult to carry. One girl in particular I have always liked but every time our paths really cross, she is back in a relationship between when we last saw each other.

While it is true that guys often have a difficult time telling if women are into them (especially when young), it is pretty easy to tell when women aren't having fun or don't really like you if you are already in a relationship. If you take a girl out on a date and she does nothing besides talk about her "childhood friend" and only ever looks happy when she talks about him, most dudes will catch on. I think that he understood that she didn't really like him and made up a story to break off the relationship since neither were actually getting what they wanted out of it.

I can understand and relate to Arima being hesitant to visit Kaori in the hospital. My mom was in the hospital for two months before she died. Despite the fact that I was in my early twenties and it happened 7 years ago, going into a hospital still triggers me sometimes, especially if it's to visist someone I'm close to. I've also noticed that I tend to subconsciously looking for reasons to avoid driving near that specific hospital when I'm in the area. Aroma is so much younger and his loss is much more recent, so it must be so much harder for him. In regards to the previous times he visited Kaori in the hospital.... the first time was after she collapsed at her competition, and because she looked fine, she managed to convince everyone she was fine. The next visit after she missed the gala, Arima had grown a lot closer to her. He had also finally started properly working through his trauma and grief, which usually hurts a lot. He thought he was fine when he went to see her, but as soon as he saw Kaori in that hospital bed and associated it with his memories of his mother in the hospital, all his emotions hit him with a hammer, and I think he's now genuinely scared of what visiting Kaori in the hospital is going to make him feel.

i've been like kousei, i droped out of college, studying engineer and this professor made a bottle neck were lots of people just could't go through, long story short, I entered again when that professor resigned a year later, and since then i've never regained full confidence in myself, hard to even make friends when you are so ashamed of yourself, and is so easy to go back to your shell that is a daily battle to stay out of it.

Btw, the music that Tsubaki was playing and kousei continued to when he talked about the moon is called clair de lune (moonlight) by the French composer Claude Debussy. And that's the same one that both of them were singing at the beach.

I think you're being a little too harsh on Tsubaki, not only is she a kid but she also didn't know how she feels until last episode! She's still processing. Also he told her he«s going away. What can she do? We know whats best, she doesn't. But maybe shell figure it out.

7:40 you missed the point: her sempai realized that she's in love with someone else, and he let her off gently by taking the blame on himself that "HE" decided that he found someone else, so that she doesn't feel guilty about being with him even though they've dates for a few days/weeks now. so he's definitely NOT a deek, in fact, he's probably the opposite of a deek: he gave her a way out out of mercy, even though he sacrificed his own chance with her to make sure she's with someone who she's actually thinking about and love. in fact, i petition for a formal apology for senpai in the intro of next episode hahahaha edit: looks like you KINDA figured it out at 11:40), we'll let that slide hahaha
