No the plan was good. But it was leaked, that was the problem. With Azula knowing that they are planning this since Ba Sing Se, they could prepare for it. If they didn't know that, they would have been unprepared. And all used hiding and diverting wouldn't have happend.

The bad dreams episode is one of my least favorites. The first half of season 3 felt like the writers saying what if Zuko got everything he ever wanted? What if his father wanted him back and gave him respect? What if his sister was more or less a little nicer to him? What if he had a girlfriend/love in the fire nation? Everything he ever missed or thought his life should be. And he gets it and it’s hollow it’s not right and he has to discover that and choose to fight. The second half I like a lot more than the first half. The day of black sun was a desperate plan. Not a good plan I agree. A desperate one. An all or nothing plan.

i thiiiiiink he said at one point he was gonna take a small break from it to focus on and finish up Your Lie in April since it’s a shorter anime. i could be wrong though

Separate series has to win a poll, same rule as Boruto. direct continuations of the same story always go through as an additional series but any show that breaks and restarts as a new one/new source is treated as its own

Except just days before his own sister just said she was a giant flying platypus and Toph couldn't tell she was lying, so she couldn't exactly assume that her brother Zuko wouldn't be just as good at lying. And all their experience with him has been of him chasing and trying to capture the avatar. AND they, Katara in particular have ALREADY encountered a "sincere-turned-good" Zuko who turned around and betrayed them and even his uncle who is the only one he ever got along with. (not to mention the betrayal happened after Appa was liking Zuko, so that doesn't really count for much at that point) So honestly, their caution is very warranted.

Korra is actually great, the live action movie is fun to hate because of how bad it is. The new animated movie looks incredible and I highly recommend watching it before Korra

Funny how every time I rewatch this show im just reminded of how PEAK the writing and characters are. Zuko legit remains top 10 best fiction characters for me, well im unsure who makes that list. But there is no damn qustion that Zuko is amazing writitng. In fact Zuko IS better than Iroh for me, sounds weird but dont get me wrong Iroh is great inspiration, Zuko is next level writing. Ofcose I would rather hang out with Iroh than Zuko, thats not the point. The point is how they made a story of a character so incredibly human and complex, so layered and interesting. Zuko IS 33% of ATLA bender Iroh is like 20% rest is team Avatar and then side charters. Remove Iroh and the show would be alot worse, remove Zuko and there would be less than half a story.

every time i see any part of zuko's redemption arc i have some tears in my eye, he was a very steep path, but he was destined to be in good side, he had a heart of gold, and as a villain he tried so hard to not having it, but he couldn't

Aang is the king of the no-contest: he has a few decisive wins, but he has way more "I just need to hold you here so I or my friends can escape," which means he's not very good at finishing fights... so it makes sense that he can't see when Azula's playing with him

Zuko is honorable and his whole thing is finding honor. He realized he'd never get it from his father because his dad is NOT honorable. His dad abused his power and scarred Zuko when vulnerable. Azula shot Aang down when he was vulnerable. Snakes!!! No honor, Iroh is honorable.

See, there was a time I was thinking the exact same thing ! But I learned that... No, it is, in fact, quite good and a pretty logic Sequel to the series I loved growing up. It's not the same thing ? Well, of course it's not. Can't go into details here because, spoilers, but it's just... not the same time ? Not the same place, context, and goal as well. granted I only know like 80% of the show since I didn't finish it for various reasons at the time, But I plan to watch it all over again now. If possible, with Luke !

Live action is still unconfirmed, Luke is looking at dates that'll work for the subathon but given the new movie was pushed earlier its just intime to cap off the series. Will have confirmation in a week or two on when the one piece subathon date is & which avatar movies will be included to make up that time.

BTW: They recently announced a new Avatar the last Airbender movie, made by Paramount Studios, which plays directly after Aang's show. It's canon btw. I could be wrong, but I think the outfit from the second dream was a Trigun reference. It’s almost identical to the look and hairstyle of the character “Vash the Stampede,” just in a different color scheme and with chains holding the pants.

1:43:26 do you really have that short of a memory luke it wasn't a bad plan not at all. if it wasn't for that retarded earth kingdom king opening his mouth and telling Azula the plan about attacking the fire nation on the day of the eclipse. the fire nation wouldn't have known and more than likely would have lost but they didn't know that the stupid earth kingdom king told Azula about the invasion so they didn't know that Azula knew and therefore the fire lord also knew about it or are you just conveniently forgetting all that. man sometimes your short term memory pisses me the fuck off like seriously it wasn't a bad plan at all maybe think and try to remember what happened in previous episodes and what Azula said during this episode before you say something so stupid.
