Wow. It's been a ride. So happy I was able to watch your reactions, Luke, as it really hit right after I watched it for the first time.

Damien Frost

Is anyone else struggling to cast to tv

Lucie

Glad I watched this show again, this is such a masterpiece ! Thank you for your reactions and the time you took to record it 🙏🏼

Lock Pearl

The lyrics of the ending song is so heartbreaking now that we know the context of the show 😭

MILKYWAY

Absolute Sad ✋😭🤚

Oatmeal1504

One of my favorite endings in anime, if not my favorite. I still get teary-eyed now

Anima

Pls Watch the ova

sparkfly2000

41:18 I think Kaori went with Emi. In Emi's flashback, she said that she brought a friend with her to see the piano concert where she saw Arima for the first time, then you see that Emi was right next to Kaori in her flashback.

sparkfly2000

I cried watching this reaction...

Rem is best waifu

I have probably seen this anime close to 10 times and the ending still gets me. Love the music and animation but the story of Kaori is a beautifully tragic tale.

Stoelwinder 0

Thanks for watching this beautiful anime

Cyber

I love the juxtaposition of Arima being drowned under water before, and now he's floating on TOP of the water when Kaori's playing with him, and i like to think that she'll always be playing with him forever every time he touches that keyboard.

Leonardo Postacchini

Thank you for the reaction Luke. Even if I watched this anime multiple times, I am siting here with my cheeks as river of tears. Regarding asking you about the anime, I am going to be honest, I was anxious to see this, but I was super afraid you were avoiding it to avoid the pain. I am really glad you finnished it. If I am going to guess, the way you are feeling is something we call "saudades" in portuguese for Kaori.

Slipstream

The black represents Kaori. She admires Kousei from a distance, yet brings him joy when she is around and pain when she dies. The double suicide that was mentioned is the viewer dying along side Kaori. Watch the YLIA OVA if you want more clues. You now have one "Big Boy" anime completed. Congratulations! It's always nice to see people taking those first steps. Battle shonen anime are just baby food. You have so much yet to experience. I hope you will take those next steps. Different genre await you Luke. You just need the courage to press the play button!

Airtiger

Can you rewatch the OP's and ED's? There are symbolisms that I think would be fun to rewatch now that we have finished the anime

David Stowe

I watch this show every year and it never gets easier. But it's still a top 5 anime for me. I'm so glad Luke made this a double episode. And remember, the negative voices always seem the loudest. The majority of your viewers and fans that are mostly silent just want to experience things with you at your pace.

GutterSnipe1

I have seen this three times, and it hit harder each time. This is excellent. Thank you for your reactions.

Papapada

We need a palette cleanser. Time to watch Anohana

Daniel Thunberg

You should watch Fruits Basket (2019), It has Love, Drama, Comedy & Light Magic.

AdrixelCV

Now let's watch Clannad

Anima

Yes but its hard to finde Just Google it

Earl Preston

im surprised i was just soaking up the warmth in this one. at the beginning i clearly remembered the heartbreak from watching it years ago and that was why i was so relectuant to watch it again. but im so glad i did. i actualy didnt breakdown this time it was more a moment of release much like in angel beats. what got me the first time was the letter and her saying it was you. There was a similar letter in sword art online that always get me but oddly this one was much more comforting if thats oddly a way to put it? The animation is clearly a high point among a brilliant story and overall experience. the cgi of the piano just really draws you in. especially if your not into classical music. this still need cliff notes on what a lot of the deeper meaning to the music and styles of playing were about. but i think for hte most part it was accesssible to the average person. Thank you so much for finishing this beautiful anime.

Malik Ford

Sorry for voting for this one

Airtiger

This anime is such an amazing art piece. It is absolutely one of my top anime.

SvenBrnn

No matter how often i see it. The letter always gets me... even with exactly knowing it already... React when ever you are free. Ignore ppl crying for more. Your private life and your familly should always have top priority and you putting them there is one of the reasons i even enjoy your reactions.

Elemento

In the episode the surgery was first discussed Kaori said that she made Kousai the promise to play with him on stage again in april. Given the title of the anime I had a bad feeling of the surgery the whole time.

iDiarkis

if they don't listen to what you say, why should you bother to listen to what they say. Taste of their own medicine, as they say

Kannigl

After such an amazing heartbreaking anime I think we need something more easy to watch like Anohana for example :)

Nir

I need to rewatch 86 ending after this to balance out

Phoenix_mercury

3rd time watching this show, 3rd time crying at this show

Thiago Almeida

After being hit by a truck that is this ending maybe we should recommend something more heartwarming to balance things out, like yuru camp for example

hnokx

the last picture always kills me

Canelas

He has more than one, he's been watching for quite a while now. He might've even watched more than me at this points, but yes Your Lie was a long overdue staple because of shonen voting

Alfred Chow

For an anime which main theme is about getting over grief, the amount of ppl who can't get over Kaori dead is high, that why every April this anime always come back

Daniel Smith Jr

Towards the end Kaori asked if she reached people and Kosei. If she will be in people's hearts and be remembered. I think it's safe to say she reached a hell of a lot more people than just the characters in the story. Probably a million or more of us keeping her in our hearts now.

Tysado

Thank you so much for the journey!! This show always reminds me of the movie “Marley and Me”… you know what’s coming at the end but it doesn’t make it any less sad (maybe makes it worse!)

LKCynric

As its one of my favorite anime of all time, hearing the first notes of the final performance always hit like a truck. But I love how its Tsubaki ho pulls him out of the hole he was at to start playing. Seeing your reactions reminds me how subtle her death is, as you, as many others, didn't even notice. Just a small twitch, and a small heartbeat drop and she was gone. Kousei knew, thats why he was devastated when she showed up. But what an amazing performance. Hits you hard, hurts a lot, but its absolutely beautiful. To me its still the most beautiful death scene I have ever seen. Tragic, sad, but absolutely beautiful. But then, when you thought it was over, that you were safe, comes the worst part. The letter. Hits you even harder, especially when she reveals the lie and how she trully felt. On a side note, when we see Eri flashback, she was there. At the time we just didn't know who she was. Its such a lovely touch. This is a harsh anime. They show you how its gonna end, When you get hope, they literally have a character say "Kousei need to lose someone else dear to him to be able to move on" and shatter it. At the end they still hope a bit and it all comes crashing down. But its beautiful. What an amazing and beautiful anime. Hurts a lot, but its worth watching. PS: There's a small OVA out there. Nothing special, but its a cute small side story when Kousei was a kid.

na

love luke, and he's not usually that media literate....BUT in this series, he really gets it the vast majority of the time (which is tops for first watch). Other than the music, he really understood what this was. Considering how our boy is usually not exactly picking up on all but the most obvious themes, motifs, messages, meanings, etc etc, it's clear that this anime really resonated on a personal level with Lukey-boy and his past. edit- yes the cat means a rebirth of hope. notice how it's more of a kitten. possibly born those months ago during the performance where he says goodbye

Amberyootoob

Plastic Memories will be a bright ray of sunshine.

Rare_pvk

lmao you guys want Luke to be permanently depressed

AdrixelCV

I genuinely think Luke can stand Clannad

Amberyootoob

I didn’t grasp on my first watch that the lie was that she saw him as friend A when really she loved him first.

Amberyootoob

A well written anime can tell you “this character is going to die, we’re going to kill them off, this is how they will die!” And you are still devastated by it.

na

53:40 ish. i'll preface this by saying, do what you gotta do to put food on the table and pay the mortgage. that said the reason why ppl are "moaning" at you about wanting to see certain reacts is bc they see you uploading mad taylor swift and random other pop artists when half of us are here for your anime reacts and half are here for you pop music reacts. like a lot of us are here just for anime reacts, so it's painful when the last YLIA was like 2+ wks ago with only 2ep to go. when the haikyuu break was like 2 months, and if ppl didn't watch other vids they didn't hear you explain the issues. I cant imagine how annoying it is to see a million comments about watch this and watch that....but it's also ungrateful to 'moan' at the moaners about moaning bc theyre moaning bc they want to see YOU react to their fav animes that you give heartfelt great reacts to that they clearly enjoy, and instead they're seeing a bunch of pop music with little substance to it (bc it's fkn pop music meant for dancing and checking out mentally and enjoying without thinking about...like how some of those artists have done awful things but still make bangers).....Im sure the pop-only fans feel the same way about anime reacts taking up your time when they probably think anime sucks and have never watched it. . and for that to be what you launched into at the end of this show was weird to say in the least...but i guess we got an honest react in that sense

Amberyootoob

I love the metaphor that when she dies her spirit joins him to play one final time and it’s making my screen blurry.

Vascor

Now that you finished the anime I recomend checking out the song " Orange" by Ama lee it's from your lie in april.

Lu C

Glad you finished this journey❤️ The OST composer is Masaru Yokoyama, he is very versatile and his works are enjoyable to listen to 😉 Please continue watching titles that are not just the most popular or seasonal isekai. I hope you can get more exposure to other genres and themes (comedy, historical, scifi...) and other then shounen demographics (shoujo, josei, seinen)...😉 Also I think your message to people requesting you finish their preferred titles is not reaching them Maybe a short post or this message snipped out and posted separately would help in addressing the backlog issue.

Phoenix_mercury

Not everyone "checks out mentally" to music(including pop music), some people actually pay attention, to lyrics, instrument composition, word flow, rhyme schemes ect 🫤🙄

Ryuk2501

I second Anohana.

Binbou

Luke, please keep trying to get Clannad in a vote or whatever. I can't say why you'll love it for spoiler reasons, but PLEASE. It is truly a one of a kind masterpiece, and you will love it.

Slipstream

Really? I've watch all of the mentioned anime and have not experienced depression. In fact, many others have also watched all of those mentioned anime and seem to have survived. If Luke has preexisting mental health issues, then maybe anime could trigger a mental health crisis. But I find it unlikely that a person of normal mental health would be unable to cope with a work of fiction. Luke makes his own bed. So he gets to lie in whatever bed he makes. IMHO, Luke's problems are of his own making. Luke makes choices. Luke reaps what he sews. Luke is in a business where he needs to please his audience, not himself. Maybe someday he will understand that. lol It's easy to focus on only one segment of your audience, but you do that at a price. Customer dissatisfaction will lead to negative feedback. If you are mentally fragile, this could be problematic. This creates a feedback loop. Angry viewers complain -> they are ignored -> viewers get more frustrated -> frustration leads to negative feedback and hard feelings -> ego busing occurs -> more hurtful words are exchanged -> mental health declines along with revenues -> Luke retreats and seeks comfort from enablers -> current audience members feel ignored & becomes dissatisfied and complains. Rinse and repeat. If only Luke didn't fight his audience. Smh... Steady revenue isn't flashy, but it will pay your bills. Those who chase fortunes, lose fortunes when they ignore this fact.

Slipstream

Think of it this way: Children tell Santa what gifts they want. But do the children ever ask Santa what he wants? lol The answer is NO. lol The same holds true for Luke's audience. I mean, who clicks on Luke's channel and says. " I wonder what Luke's what's to watch today?" People are seeking entertainment THEY want to watch. If Luke happens to be watching something good, they will stay and watch. If not, they will either move on or complain. So I'm not sure people will listen, regardless of how you tell them. lol

Slipstream

How many business stay in buisness by ignoring it's customers? lol So you can only benefit in the short term if you ignore your customer base. In the long term, it will bankrupt you. I hope that explains things for you. :)

Slipstream

Ignoring his audience has led to Luke's situation. So your solution is to do more of the same. This is an example of good intentions leading to more harm. Ignoring the audience is what's causing the imbalance. lol So Luke would be better off trying to find a middle ground. Of course his family is important, but Luke is overcompensating because of past trauma. So he is unable to understand his own desires are what is causing him the metal anguish. Pleanty of dad's have to work long hours at tough jobs to provide for their families. They have to sacrifice family time for food and shelter. Family time comes only after the bills are paid. Luke is in a place of privlage. He makes his own hours and he is his own boss. He has it better off then the average person. Yet, despite this, Luke still feels this advantage isn't enough. How much more privlage is needed to make Luke feel better?

Slipstream

It's a bucket list anime.

davguev

You wanna send him to the psychiatrist, right?

davguev

It's fair to moan about moaners. Not a drop of empathy coming from them. Besides, Luke had already warned us that this series would be published at random times, so waiting two weeks shouldn't be unexpected.

Lichmourne

I second this but Luke might actually die this time rewatching them lmao.

loic Jafson

Let's cheer ourselves of with anohana

Spa7his

I loved this anime. But this was the hardest anime to watch.. it was so difficult to even watch your reaction, cause I felt the same way you did. You can tell whats going to happen, but it breaks your heart anyways.

Miss Malice

I get through the grief this series inevitably gives me by telling myself that though Kaoru's story ended, she gave Kousei his beginning again. His story was put on hiatus when his mom died and as Tsubaki put it, his time had stopped. Kaoru physically pulled Kousei out of the abyss of his own making and shoved him into the light as one of the last acts she performed on this earth. He changed the trajectory of her life with his piano playing as a child, so she changed the trajectory of his with her violin playing at a teenager. She brought color to his monochrome world like he brought sound into hers. They gave each other hope, as you can see when she's begging him to be her accompanyist by saying "support me when I've begun to lose hope". She was almost at rock bottom, and needed him to pull her out, so she could lead him out in retun. On that note, Thank you so much for finishing this masterpiece. I was holding out until you finished it because im a glutton for punishment and need immediate gratification.

Adriana Flores

Love this anime and I always cry at the end but what gets me 100% is “Arima Kosei I love you I love you I love you!” 😭🥰

yorozuyapetel

i vividly remember watching this last episode, and just lying in my bed staring at the roof crying for half an hour. for someone who cries quite frequently that was a lot. i swear wasnt there another episode??? am i imagining it? about the other series and everything, i definitely wanna see your reactions to march comes in like a lion but if i don't see a video i find interesting, i just go find something else to do or watch? i get being butthurt about it, but even if you did start it now immediately, it would still be ages before you finish it so i really couldnt care about it being here now or in half a year. also i basically know that show off the top of my head at this point, i can use my imagination to rewatch it whenever i want. mentioning it, i dont think it will hit you as hard as this one, but i feel its important to mention that it did to me. it affected me personally much more than your lie in april did, and i doubt thats the same for some others who want you to watch it, but my favorite series affected me enough to change me, or are actively changing me. unnecessary rant but thats why i love watching your reactions, i can really yap away against a brick wall, but what i mainly enjoy about it is having the feeling like i'm sharing those heavy emotions with someone. i could probably cry over a show around friends, but it doesn't come as easily.

Damian

I would love to see Luke's reactions to the following animes. Clannad Orange ReLife

NanoRyuusei

Next Anohana or Plastic Memories :3

Vicente Gómez

Crying again over Your Lie in April, what a cliché. (Are we ever revisiting the openings and endings?)

David

Wth? Why is everyone trying to break Luke? 🤣🤣 just under this comment I saw someone talking about Anohana, do you hate him that much? 🤣🤣

David

Oh yeah, no one is saying that Luke cannot stand Clannad, the problem is the second season Clannad After Story, there are emotional moments in Clannad, but the first season isn’t near the level of Clannad After Story But you need to watch the first season to understand After Story, if you want to understand the depth of the mc and Nagisa’s relationship and feelings It’s just like the game Clannad, if you buy the game Clannad, you buy the entire game, not just Clannad After Story

Yevaud06

Me: (staring at the play button) "I know I shouldn't put myself through this again..." Clicks play anyways.
