cuz one pace cuts out too much good animation and isnt a good way for new ppl to get into it. the cuts arent always consistent either and the pacing issues arent real until the second half anyway. its not needed when starting the show if its gonna be used at all.

Hi Luke. As you mentioned at some point that you think about watching the live action series, I wouldn't recommend it. It's a great series to watch as an old fan and for those who know nothing about OP. But they decided to put in some major reveals that won't be a thing for another few hundreds of episodes, so it will definitly spoil the Anime experience. Therefore I can't recommend watching it when you just started the Anime. Lots of love :)

Because it’s not like they add anything new, it’s all still frames, flashbacks, recaps and filler. One Pace just cuts all that shit out. Why would people choose a worse way to watch it. Why are people like you obsessed with making people watch a worse version of the anime. They are remaking it for a reason

Live action might be something to try when he is far further into the show. But by that point why watch that when you can just watch more of the anime.

Does anyone know whats going to happen to his backlog of saturday anime since thats now the subathon day? There is still more Slime, Bookworm, Dr Stone, sentenced to be a hero, and I honestly can't even remember if there is another one or not. Just curious if he ever mentioned it since im not able to watch him during his streams

Noah, the still frames and flashbacks and recaps and filler help give the moments the emotional weight and depth that they deserve. It's like a person sitting there staring at a splash page in a manga and taking it in, not just flipping ahead to the next page. Animation, music, voice acting adds to the manga's plot and creates something great. WIT is remaking the anime because they are going to try and condense the story down the same way the One Piece movies do while still giving the biggest moments the weight that they need. It's the same thing the live action is trying to do. That is not what One Pace does. I have never seen a single instance of a time when One Pace was preferable to One Piece...especially for a 1st time watch.

The live action does have spoilers about the Navy side of the story, but the live action is very good in it's own right. I say Luke puts it to a vote for if and when he watches the live action. It wouldn't surprise me if enough of us here don't mind the light spoilers in favor of watching whats essentially a very good show. My personal opinion is to watch season 1 of the live action after ep 45 and season 2 after ep 91, but if you want to avoid all spoilers, you unfortunately need to wait until after ep 314.

So for anyone wondering what's gonna happen with one piece after luke got banned on twitch last week i heard from people who are on his discord that one piece is postponed indefinitely until he can figure this out. So maybe that will give him time to finish Hell's Paradise or sentenced to be a hero or dr. Stone or maybe nothing at all I don't know but hopefully he gets this figured out sooner than later because otherwise he won't ever even finish the first arc of one piece. There is also the option of recording reactions to one piece episodes 1 or 2 episodes at a time like what he does with my hero academia.

Still frames, repetition and recaps is part of every old anime because of handmade animation taking too long to make a whole 20 mins episode in just one week, that's why the average OP episode is 14 minutes or so, because opening, ending, recap, still frames etc are taking a lot of the time of the episode. It was necessary, but it doesn't make it any better. It's better to have the innecessary things cut off the anime.
