Well to be fair, Slime is following up on the cliffhanger. The cliffhanger was Hinata died and Chloe teleported away.

this is the past of the same loop, not a new timeline. Everything happening this episode has aldready happened in the past of the timeline we've been watching since season 1. Nothing is being reset.

evidence for that being that Chloe told Hinata that she NEVER thought of a hero name before and yet Luminous told Rimuru and everyone else that the heros name was Chronoa.

I'm an anime-only and I don't think that fight is the most important thing in this arc. THIS time travelling of Chloe is the most important part and most important of the whole series. not that epic cliffhanger of an incoming "fight" lol

So to Explain whats happening here luke, and i hope you see this: Chloe is forced to go back in time by hinatas death becus of the looping(the looping is forced upon her), chloe as she said fully intends to keep things the same as the current time(our time) it will be the same as we always had it, nothing will be changed, everything that happened that we saw happeneds again, there wont be anything diffrent, rimuru will be back to being a demon lord and fighting leon falsly and facing up against granville and chronoa as we saw before she went back, what she does in the past now is what causes the future she is from to happen, its as if she already were in the past to make the future(our current time) to happen so what 1-4 season have shown is what chloe in the past had made happen :) as proven by lumonious saying in a few episodes back (is rumuru really gonna die?) to chloes older body in the holy ark, seeing as chloe told luminous about rumurus other timelines and future events in the past (2000 years ago) so to summarize, the changes chloe does or does not is what we're already watching, 1-4 seasons is the result of chloe in the past

Always feels a bit bad to watch an episode, be really excited about it, go watch someone else to enjoy it also, and have them shit all over it for 20 mins. All the while not even looking at the screen for about 20% of the episode.

I knew all the time from moment that spirit entered Chloe in Dvellings of spirits. When I watched it backwards again I noticed in Shizu/Diablo ova how Diablo/Noire spoken about that mask what destroyed his arm as something outside of time and space. In that moment he decided to serve future Rimuru at any cost. It was a dead give away that mask was too important to ignore. After that you only had to follow what was happening with that mask alone and when Rimuru gave original to Chloe and created himself a new one to supress his emotions after Shion died I knew there must be something with that mask. I knew Chloe is that sealed hero because opening basically spoilered everything when merging Chloe, Shizu, Rimuru and Hinata together and if you have all information from before it was not hard to piece it together. Chronoa even argued with herself before she was sealed by Luminus in that one scene so I bet Hinata is still in her in the future but they share one body and sometime Hinata take over is my guess. Only thing I did not know was that Chloe was one who gave the mask to Shizu in the future/past and that way it got into Rimurus hands ... Diablo must have known from that mask alone when he fought Shizu in that castle. That mask must have been affected by all wearers of it and leave something behind so Diablo read it like an open book. I bet he knows everything that is why he is keeping up with Rimuru because he is enjoying whole situation while trying to not get bored while not meddling too much and keeping low profile. He want's to know how it ends. Honestly it was all in anime. Not hard to piece together you just have to wait for more piecess of information. Story did not ended. From perspective of Rimuru Chloe dissapeared and waken up at the same time right next to him in Chronoa is my guess. Only thing what worries me is how she was awoken and if Yuuki did not mess with her with greed. I would not put it past him because I did not liked Raphaels reaction to her as she was only "physical body". She was clearly awoken in wrong way so maeby something went wrong there but I bet Chloe and Hinata are still inside that body maeby still sleeping so we can have great fight with Rumuru at end of this part of season. How Leon will react to it I cant tell.

Don t worry Luke, you're not on your own regarding the slime situation. Love slime, but also currently a bit lost with last ep, but will see where this takes us. I have hope to be pleasantly surpirsed by the end of it

As an anime-only, I don't know exactly who killed Hinata to trigger Chloe's time traveling in the previous loops but I did have a funny idea (which is most likely incorrect) on who it could be when I first watched episode 20. What if Rimuru is responsible for Hinata's deaths in the previous loops? By Rimuru, I mean great sage (who hadn't evolved into Raphael in the previous loops). What if great sage managed to figure out Chloe's time traveler skill somehow and exploited that to reach the best timeline (current one)? Although Great Sage isn't able to perceive the changes due to the time traveling, maybe it could analyse Chloe's skill and figure out its activation conditions. And during each loop, it could realise that the timeline is going towards failure so the solution is to reset it. Also in Chloe's description of the previous loop, she says Rimuru dies but in the episode we see Rimuru's "corpse" alone in the forest before Veldora is released. There's no one shown beside Rimuru in the forest to say that someone confirmed his death. There's also the matter of how Veldora got out of unlimited imprisonment after Rimuru's "death". I doubt a prison that Veldora couldn't get out of for 300 years would just get overcome due to Veldora going berserk over Rimuru's death. In conclusion, maybe great sage (as capable as it is) managed to release Veldora using Veldora's rage or something. Then killed Hinata to restart the loop.

1:11:25 Soooo....notice how the hero was never named at any point in the anime? But suddenly after Hinata 'dies' and Chloe disappeared, luminous refers to the hero by name; Chronoa. Thus, everything that happened from the moment Chloe disappeared is the result of the current loop we are watching her start. So we can assume that she didn't do anything significantly different in said loop as everyone else still seems to be in the same situation as before, sans Chloe and Hinata. And for my own theory on what's to come, recall how Luminous refered to the hero in her current state as and avatar or embodiment of destruction. Finding out the answer to what caused that, and if Chloe changes that in any way this loop, will directly impact the fight against the rejuvenated Granville.

we heard Chloe call "Leo onii-chan" on episode 19 but I don't think he's actually her brother, it's a common trope that childhood friends see their relationship as siblings and call themselves brother and sister

I'm anime is only, I get you hating cliffhangers but I don't really get why you're so confused. It's like the most standard time travelling plot. The story will probably stay the same except Chloe will probably help in the battle at the end wich ended on a cliffhanger. It's not really rocket science.

I have read novels that did the restart thing Luke was talking about and while I disagree that it deletes all of what was before that point, If at least 1 character remembers what happened before the reset, It however certainly is not great when a story does that, With how most if not all character connections/encounters one has read till that reset point being gone. The Anime of Slime did not explain Chloe's Time Travel powers unlike the Novel version. However the Anime might explain it later, So I will not talk about it until I know for sure they are not going to explain it. I can only say for sure at this moment that what we see in Episode 20 is indeed not a full restart/reset, As Luke already learned that due to the name Chronoa being used in the present time, Even though that name was not used in the last loop Chloe did.

im laughing my ass off, it took til the very end of episode 20 for whats happening to click with luke. this has all been a build up since episode 1 of season 1 where we heard about the hero who sealed veldora, and gave shizu the mask that she would give to rimuru who would then give it back to chloe the hero, at least thats how ive understood it, this clearly seems like a plot point thats been building up since the very first episode and season finally coming all together

For Slime. This is not a new time line for the last episodes ending. Limunus called the hero Chronoa so this mean past already happened. She knew Chronoa. They are just showing what happened in the past so this is timeline’s outcome.

Its all just a backstory for chronoa. There is nothing changing for the current story ergo the ep titles being the hero chronoa pt 1 and pt 2. Would have been sufficient to help clear some of Luke's misconceptions instead of arguing with the man. Always assume Luke forgets things he always does dont get mad at that he usually gets back around to remembering at some point.

Well, Luke, you probably would have noticed when they mentioned earlier, when Chloe literally said: "Big brother Leon" if you were paying the slightest hint of attention to the previous episode. But hey, you must have simply forgotten however I don't recall you calling it out or even reacting slightly which makes me think you just missed it.

I dont understand most of the question u ask or why u sometimes dont get the plot. they talk about most things and everything is explained with the exception of things u should not now until now. i like your reactions, thats why i subscribed for a year but the slime anime makes me a little angry. for example why rimuru and leon are still fighting. they know there is something to happen but they dont know what so they play along till something happens. it rlly isnt that hard
