Ahh yess, the best Pokémon season with the most frustrating ending that betrayed fans before the shit on the animation quality in Sun and Moon completing the betrayal. This season had the most badass version of Ash as well as giving him a proper love intrest and story before they fked the ending lmao.

Sun/Moon gave me such mixed feelings. There's a few good things about the season actually....absolutely loved the rock version of the elite four song when the Kahunas were working together to fight against an enemy. Ironically I think Satoshi had the worst character design, everyone else look just fine.

Pokemon anime isn't bad (especially the new pokemon horizons ones) and I'm happy you're checking it out, but you're missing out on the games which are the main focus of songs, content and story. If you want to taste that without having to dig into game content and OSTs you can check out the pokemon song "Gotcha" by Bump of chicken, it has 100 mil views and it's the best animated pokemon video ever, it has references to everything from gen 1 to gen 8 (we're at gen 9, 10 is coming out next year so it's still quite recent), and if you like that one and you're curious you can then check out the pokemon evolutions animations that have one episode for each generation, I really hope you keep it up with pokemon reactions since I love them so much, have fun :D

filler is a word reserved for content not adapted from the original source, but in the case of the pokemon anime, it doesn't adapt anything from the games, Ash/Satoshi doesn't exist in the games. like yeah theres some characters that show up from the games but the way they are incorporated in the anime isn't like the games at all, you defeat misty and brock in the gyms but they dont travel with you after you beat them ( which honestly would kinda make for a cool pokemon game concept ) so yeah , there is no filler in the Pokemon Anime. tho there are certainly skippable episodes

rica matsumoto is such a legend (hope i got her name right, going off memory) she played ash for the entire 20+ years, the english va changed at some point in the 2010's but she's been around the whole time, even singing openings and all

Rica Matsumoto was one of the original members of JAM Project, she was there for about 8 years but I don't think you've heard any of the tracks from that early period of JAM Project. Still, that should tell you how right you are about her vocal tone. If you want to hear something from that era check out some classics like Soultaker, Gong or Skill. There's also a great live performance of Destination which is her solo with JAM Project backing her.

I'll be honest, I only care for your MHA and opening reaction, literally don't care for any other anime you're reacting, I've been waiting for the One Piece reaction for the last 3yrs, but looks like those are in limbo. Also, if you like to hear more of Ash's JPN VA singing, she sings some opening for the series Kamen Rider, which PLEASE react to them one day, also Super Sentai, where Power Rangers where inspired, they're literally live action anime, and their opening are AMAZING.

Thank you! 😭 Even tho you trolled with the English first. Japanese XYZ is my favorite pokemon opening of all time. May be severe bias (as this was around when I first transitioned to Japanese with English subs, after watching strictly English since '99), but this season was my favorite as well. The whole storytelling was 10/10

I would love to see a person who never watched pokemon or know all the pokemon to watch the show. I like the games more but the series is very good aswell. So I say watch the series Luke :D Also maybe watch Gotcha from Bump of Chicken first :)

If you liked hearing her sing, you should listen to Alive a Life, the Kamen Rider Ryuki opening. A Kamen Rider or Super Sentai opening reaction would probably go really hard. Or hell, react to a Kamen Rider series.
