Eri's quirk is less rewinding time and more like reversion. She reverts things to a previous state. The example you used of getting up from your chair and doing a dance, Eri could not use her quirk and rewind to make you stop getting out of the chair. Another example would be a car crash, Eri wouldn't be able to rewind and stop the crash, she could just revert the car(s) to the state they were in before the crash, undoing the damage. It's weird to explain without it being a contradiction lol. I guess the best way to explain it is that she can reverse the consequences of an action, but not the action itself.

The antidote to return quirks were future plans since he just managed to complete the quirk erasing bullets. Sell a problem -> Sell a cure to the problem -> Repeat

This is one of the hardest arcs for me to watch because all I want is Eri safe, and how long it takes to get there but it is one of the most satisfying endings, rivaling the finale as far as animation and execution.

i think its better to say she can reverse the "state" of things. like the act of growing older on the body, or as you said with a crashed car, the cars state would revert to before the crash, but the event itself remains. if you kicked over a chair, she cant reverse it to being upright, but any damage from the kick or it hitting the ground would be reversed.

she cant just rewind anything, she can only rewind living creatures, so it would not work on a destroyed car or building, but only the people who were effected by the damaged car or building

Eri's Rewind is still activated, meaning she rewound Deku's injuries. If she keeps rewinding Deku will cease to exist. Like he was never born. Thats what happened to Eri's dad. She doesn't know how to control it.

As Chisaki said she "could revert a human into a monkey", that means that she reverts the Evolution of the Human Species. With that she can revert something to some state that was in the past. (Evolution = Human with Quirks -> Human without Quirks -> Caveman -> Monkey -> Nothingness)

I think the correct name for Eri's quirk would be "Regression" rather then Rewinding. She "Regresses" things back to their origin more and more (like the rats turninf into embryos then into nothing)

Ehhhhhh I mean… yes and no? AFO doesn’t go about it in quite the same way, but the things he did to turn Shigaraki into his successor aren’t really that different from how Chisaki used Eri. I think it’s kind of implied that he’s similarly uninhibited by morality, we just don’t see him being as absolutely horrific firsthand as we see Chisaki abusing Eri (in gruesome detail). So like… in universe, if we knew every single horrible thing he’d ever done, AFO is probably as bad or worse. But in terms of the things we actually see in the anime… I’d agree Chisaki is the most horrifyingly evil character.

It's so interesting seeing your reactions and guesses lol. The best thing about MHA is it DOES have such great writing and we only know as much as the characters know so some of our "facts" are just their guesses or perspectives. I look forward to more of your guesses and theories especially the ones where there might be room to doubt that narrative and interpretations of the characters. (an example from early MHA being how they can THINK they know what they're quirk does but find out it work differently later, thus why you can adjust your quirk registration) I love unreliable narrator stories that are super well written like this.
